President Trump went on a late-night attack against NBC and ABC News on Sunday, deriding them for what, in his view, was "biased" coverage and said he would be in favor of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revoking their licenses. The Republican president said the news outlets had given him negative coverage on "97%" of stories. It wasn’t clear from where Trump was citing the "97%" figure. A study released earlier this year by the conservative media watchdog group, Media Research Center (MRC), found that coverage of the president’s first 100 days in office was "92% negative."

Typical FAUX, "Trump said it was 97% negative but our figures show it was only 92%, so there Orange Man!"

It sounds radical, but considering the provable lies, misinformation, and open political bias, in the last 6 years, and really the last 60 years, something should be done. But I don't know what.

Not a good look for any president to attack a news organization, biased or not.

It’s so refreshing we have a real leader in the USA who speaks his mind, and calls them how he sees them.
Especially after witnessing George Bush getting pummeled daily for eight years without ever fighting back and sticking up for the people who voted him into the presidency twice. It’s so nice to have someone on our side for once.

It's unfortunate that most of the media interprets the First Amendment as the ability to lie grossly and often but the forefathers did not consider that so many people in the future greatest country in the world would be so dishonest and ungrateful. They have taken it so far that their credibility is gone.

Typical Fox.. making a Big deal out 92% compared to 97%...how childish of Fox! It's probably 99%. They forgot to mention so called news outlets have the lowest ratings in history!

Somehow, Fox News, or at least Bradford Betz, managed to fumble the ball here. The biased coverage about Trump by the alphabet networks is greater than 90% and the reporter quibbles about a few percentage points.
The Mainstream Media is close to the days of Pravda in their addiction to Leftist views and defense of Democrat politics.

"Any move to revoke licenses based on real or perceived news bias would run afoul of First Amendment protections. Similar attempts in the past have been struck down by the courts."
They have no right to exist above all others who pay. They have a right to exist if they pay for it like all the other outlets who pay. Bias or not. I'd make them start paying going forward, but I'd also go back to their creation and charge them from then to now. Bump the courts.

These outlets attack and have attacked Trump 365/24/7, so no sympathy here for their getting some comeback.

ABC and NBC don't have licenses.
They're networks.
Stations are licensed.
ABC owns 8, NBC owns 12, all in major markets.

Well...poster #1...you can take your 5% discrepancy ...97% to 92% and put it south of the border ...you are not concerned about 92% negative coverage...which is outrageous...in it self....but choose to mock the numbers....no matter how small....President Trump is right...they should lose their licenses....and he's just the man for the job....

The Democrats are being played and they fall for it every.single.time. Trump isn’t going to have their licenses pulled. But they are going to spend 2-3 days shreaking and pulling their hair out over it, calling it retribution over their almost 100% negative coverage of him - thus admitting it - and proving once again that this is all they’ve got.

Trump is trolling the networks. But it would be condign if entire network news divisions were eliminated. The work they do is anti-American and untruthful. Americans can do without ABC and NBC, if it comes to that. They ruined their reputations and their brand. If they go, good ridddance to them.

It'll take time, but ratings will take their courses. The networks' credibility is in the toilet and about to be flushed by viewership, all by their own doing.
Legacy media is like the two Russian papers: Pravda (truth) and Izvestiya (news). According to the Russian population, there was no truth in the news, and no news in the truth.
I really haven't watched TV "news" in decades, and as far as I'm concerned, the legacy media news is thinly disguised opinion. When I want opinion, I listen to talk radio. I probably get more news from there than I would from the legacy media "news" outlets.

This is easy. Trump will instruct the FCC to revoke the broadcast licenses for the local stations owned and operated by ABC, CBS and NBC.

Turn on the news to hear the news and get bombarded by propaganda. So much so that they hardly report any news. At that point you turn them off. People have better things to do with their time. The only regret is so many people fall for it.
If Trump revokes their licenses they won't be missed, but it does not resolve the problem that our news networks have turned into propaganda networks.

The media may ultimately do it to themselves.
I saw a comment on YouTube which stated that MS-NOW stands for:
More S##t No One Watches. If the network news remains on that path eventually they will slink away and no one will ever notice they're gone.
It's not the 50's; they're no longer the only game in town.

The frequencies used by the broadcasts is owned by the government and local stations are permitted to use them under certain conditions one being Broadcasters have a duty to serve the needs of their local communities, dishing out pure propaganda is not serving the needs.

Today's news shows bend over backwards to not highlight good news for Trump.
I simply ask myself, would they report this the same way if it was about Biden or any other Democrat?
Then you know they're being BIASED intentionally.

Pres Trump, all you have to do is have the FCC forbid any Fake News organization from using Regulated communication services of the US Govt. No Internet, Satellite, wire/fiber and they can't spew their LIES!
To take care of the other services, US Mail, Roads to deliver their newspapers shut down it completes the Job!
You will not be interfering with their freedom of the Press or Speech, they can stand on a soap box and LIE ALL DAY.

Looking back a half-century, Trump became a household name back in the 1970s, having actively courted the media, seeking media attention to promote his real estate ventures, establishing his brand, and honing his media connections to shape his public image. Were the news stories involving Trump fake back then, or did the media wait until Trump ventured into politics? Was the same media more kind to Reagan or was Regan's relatively more benign response, essentially ignoring media bias more effective in blunting hostile media attacks?

Let's be real for a minute. Trump isn't going to revoke any national news organization's license (or whatever it is) to broadcast. 75% of the voting populace would agree that doing so is way, way over the top. They'd vote for anyone opposing Trump on that action. But he can complain about ABC and NBC news however he likes.

The FCC can require all such programs to open with a video clarifying (1) how the "news" is paid for and how that may affect the news and opinions "your are about to hear," (2) that the program may be biased, how bias works, and what misinformation is, and (3) if there is data presented, the data needs to be checked from other sources for accuracy, and (4) How misinformation may include: Omitting parts of the story on purpose in order to sway the viewer to accept their specific story. It could be on any "talking head" show including conservative media. They can give the FCC's simple website for more information. The FCC can control the font size and the speed of the speaker's cadence.

The laws regarding broadcasting were intended to present political neutrality. The regulations were never enforced and they're unenforceable.. I don't know why CBS didn't make the cut, CBS is as as radical as ABC or NBC. The solution - turn off the TV. Brain-dead marxist zombies who watch the Big Three wont be deterred.
