The Week In Pictures: Cracker Barrel Goes

There was important news this week: apparent progress toward peace in Ukraine, a crackdown on crime in D.C., and much else. But those serious topics were pretty much ignored by the nation’s memesters. The story of the week, hands down, was the Cracker Barrel logo reboot. Not having learned, apparently, from the experiences of Bud Light, Target and others, Cracker Barrel debuted a new logo that was seen as an abandonment of its middle American roots. There were other meme-stories too, like the Rhode Island Assistant Attorney General who, apparently the worse for drink, tried to pull rank on a commendably patient police officer. The body cam footage, happily, survives.

Been there a couple times in Florida. My sibs seemed to like it and it was a great halfway point between my brother and my sister. Food was good. The General Store part was pretty interesting. Thinking of going again now that it seems to tick of Jasmine Crockett.

We only have one Cracker Barrel in NH and I must say that all the meals we have had there were delicious: From the blueberry pancakes to their new recipe for pot roast. I will be very disappointed to see them go woke.

I've never been to Cracker Barrel, but then again I've never owned a Jaguar. If the Bud LIght/Jaguar debacles weren't strong enough lessons in how NOT to run a business, I feel so sorry for all the future ex-employees of CC. They will be the ones who pay for this stupidity.

Some of those CB memes are "keepers". Also the meme of Ms. "Tish" in the back of a police cruiser driven by PDJT. That one was kinda epic.

I like Cracker Barrel's breakfast, especially the hash brown casserole and grits. We don't have one where we live, but I'm not much for woke nonsense and will likely not visit them now if I do run across one. They've gotten rid of the Indian maiden Mia, Uncle Ben, Aunt Jemima, the Redskins, Chief Wahoo and now Uncle Herschel. They've torn down monuments of heroes across the land, even renamed military bases and mountains. I'm really sick of these commie rats and won't partake in any business who propagates their idiocy.

The ones in New York were terrible. Haven't been to CB in Florida, but hear they are better. Guessing their business isn't doing so hot so they do a logo change and remodeling to make it appear they are doing something. More like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. They need to fix their real problems.

I love the way the RI cops shoved the "I'm an AG" lady's friend in the back of the police vehicle. I think the cop said, "Good for you" after one of the hundred times she (who didn't know police SOP as well as she thought she did) and her friends told him she was an AG. But of course, I'm sure nothing happened to her and her dumb partner in crime who resisted arrest, acted a total entitled fool, and then started crying to her simp husband saying she was scared.

#12: I've eaten at CBs all over the south, but the last time I ate at one in New York was in April, 2014, at the CB on Front Street (US-11) in Binghamton. Food there was just as good as anyplace I ever visited in the south. May be a local management problem in your case... But of course, the whole company was being infiltrated and set up for destruction by wokesters, who are now executing their dirty deed. Bud Light just might recover from the damage to its brand. Not sure CB will...

After years of leftists pursuing lawfare, with ever-increasing levels of brazenness and vengeance, against Donald Trump and others, finally, patriots are fighting back. It looks as if at least some of the people who attempted to frame Trump for collusion with Russia are in genuine legal trouble, and more could be coming down the pike for those who cooked up the Jan. 6 “insurrection” and other efforts to make sure that Orange Man Bad would never be able to return to the White House. FBI agents on Thursday morning raided the Maryland home of John Bolton, the former national security advisor to President Donald Trump and a staunch critic of the president, NBC News confirmed. The raid is part of a “national security investigation in search of classified records,” a person familiar with the matter told NBC News. An FBI official said, “The FBI is conducting court authorized activity in the area. There is no threat to public safety,” but declined to comment on Bolton, according to NBC. FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission” at around 7 a.m. ET, the same time his agents reportedly arrived

One of President Trump’s best qualities is that he understands energy–in particular, the vital need for affordable, reliable energy. Trump understands, further, that “green” energy technologies, wind and solar, are not and cannot ever be either affordable or reliable. They are essentially a heist, an attempt to transfer trillions of dollars out of certain industries, and into others. Also, out of the United States and into China. If the Left can pull it off, it will be the biggest transfer of wealth in human history. I hate it when Republican politicians subscribe to an “all of the above” approach to energy, which implies that wind and solar

From the Miami Herald, Judge orders Alligator Alcatraz shut down in 60 days, says no more new detainees. It’s an Obama-appointed federal district judge, of course, and this is the case involving the alleged “environmental damage” being done to one of the world’s biggest swamps. From the Herald, Though her order does not prohibit the state from making repairs to the site, the most striking aspect of the order is her demand that the state begin removing all generators, gas, sewage, and other waste items that have transformed the airstrip into a detention center within 60 days, rendering the site uninhabitable. The state of Florida, of course, is appealing the decision.

The far-left Washington Post obviously wants Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dead. Nothing else explains why the Post published a story 1) revealing the Secretary’s security protocols, and 2) complaining he has too much security. If there is one truism about our regime media, it’s that they only complain about spending when it comes to protecting everyday American people through defense spending, or protecting Republicans with security details. We p*ss away trillions on welfare fraud, abortions, public schools, taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens, and antisemitic propaganda from NPR and PBS… Nevertheless, outlets like the Post only fight for more spending on all that. But when it comes to protecting the people they hate

Today the Washington Post published a long hit piece on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s security detail. The article is based on interviews with “more than a dozen” people, all of whom, of course, are anonymous. This is the gist: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s unusually large personal security requirements are straining the Army agency tasked with protecting him as it pulls agents from criminal investigations to safeguard family residences in Minnesota, Tennessee and D.C., according to numerous officials familiar with the operation. The Post’s thesis is elaborated on in great detail. We have, for example, this account of a Washington Nationals baseball game: In late July, for instance, the Hegseths wanted

Hurricane Erin strengthened back into a Category 4 behemoth over the weekend, the latest shift in what has been a remarkably fast-changing storm. The hurricane’s behavior in recent days makes it one of the fastest-strengthening Atlantic hurricanes on record and yet another indication that climate change is increasing the risk of rapidly intensifying storms. Erin became the first hurricane of this year’s Atlantic season Friday and exploded in strength from a Category 1 into a Category 5 storm in a little over 24 hours. Even after it weakened and re-strengthened into a Category 4 storm, Erin’s jaw-dropping transformation ranks it among the five storms

It turns out many Americans aren’t great at identifying which personal decisions contribute most to climate change. A study recently published by the National Academy of Sciences found that when asked to rank actions, such as swapping a car that uses gasoline for an electric one, carpooling or reducing food waste, participants weren’t very accurate when assessing how much those actions contributed to climate change, which is caused mostly by the release of greenhouse gases that happen when fuels like gasoline, oil and coal are burned. “People over-assign impact to actually pretty low-impact actions such as recycling, and underestimate the actual carbon impact of behaviors much more carbon intensive,

Liberal women are kinda nuts. Have you noticed? Well, a new study out of Quebec, published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research, might shed some light on the reason why. The researchers found that women who have abortions are more than twice as likely to end up hospitalized for psychiatric problems compared to women who carry their pregnancies to term. This isn’t some fringe finding; it’s based on a massive study tracking over 1.2 million pregnancies for up to 17 years.
