FBI agents on Thursday morning raided the Maryland home of John Bolton, the former national security advisor to President Donald Trump and a staunch critic of the president, NBC News confirmed.
The raid is part of a “national security investigation in search of classified records,” a person familiar with the matter told NBC News.
An FBI official said, “The FBI is conducting court authorized activity in the area. There is no threat to public safety,” but declined to comment on Bolton, according to NBC.
FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission” at around 7 a.m. ET, the same time his agents reportedly arrived

Raid was at 7 am. He should consider himself lucky. He did not have to stand outside of his house at 3 am in this PJs.

So many odious candidates for a FBI raid. It seems to me that they would have chosen the weakest of the suspects first so as to establish probable cause for the more important perps who are to follow. Regardless, it is a good start.

Yikes, this article reads like a 6 th grader wrote it and offers that 45/47 did the same in Florida? Kudos to busting Bolton.

The ugly, thick bespectacled, mustachioed, and stupid man thinks presidents should do what he says. No one follows an idiot, but they do get on MSNBC and CNN.

No matter what happens, I just hope my wife loves me as much as John Bolton loves seeing our troops go to war somewhere.

I assume the FBI had probable cause to get a warrant. No word on what was found. Unless or until there’s an indictment none of this means anything.

Fox News has apparently cubed uo Hugh Hewitt as a law contributor. Apparenky he is a law professor swomewhere. He is so different. Sounds like he is in our. Forwfullt defended Bolton as a "hellua lawyer" and U think he said he was a friend. Hewitt was very fired up.
Meanwhile Trump's comments were that "he's a smart guy but not patriotic"...

PS. I always thought Bolton thought he was the smartest guy in the room, which did not make him trustworthy. Smart guys can and do commit crimes and are capable of vendettas against those whom they believe did not appreciate them; Trump clearly saw him for what he was: a smart, egotistical man, unpatgriotic, self-absorbed, and a collector of injustices. A dangerous type.

Andy McCarthy just ventured on Fox that this is more Trump "retribution". Another guy I've never trusted.

BTW, an investigation into Bolton began in the Biden term (2020) - his book was believed to have contained classified information and his writing it was in violation of his employment agreement.

CNN's presence at the FBI's raid of Roger Stone's home was widely and properly ridiculed. Inviting Fox News to tag along for the Bolton raid is no more defensible.

The Feds search of every crab house, chicken house, and outhouse for confidential docs continue.
I remember how my former employer handled the issue of having so many confidential documents floating around. They did a 'review' and suddenly discovered many of these documents were over-classified and they lost their confidential status. It's really easy for someone playing nasty games to change their confidential status again and shout 'Got'cha!'. Unless they can tie this to a real crime, I'm not holding my breath.
As for Bolton, he was one of a number of members in Trump's first term that Trump discovered could not be trusted. Bolton strikes me as one of those guys familiar enough with the law to know how to get what he wants without actually breaking anything. They are hard to catch.

#10: Hewitt is a present-day RINO who was a Reagan Revolution convert as a young man and then back-slid over the decades. He was also a "Never Trumper" for awhile in Trump's first term, but at some point had a "Beck--esque" revelation that maybe PDJT wasn't so bad after all. He still doesn't like Trump as a human being, though he grudgingly acknowledges his success at moving conservative issues forward. It's not surprising that he would be simpatico with Bolton and come to his defense now.

Justified or not, this is hilarious.
These must have been a depressing last few months for the POS Bolton: No U.S. soldiers or Marines dying for nothing.

Re #18 thanks for that input on Hewitt. Along with everything else he has undergone a personality change and is now a harsh speaker. He has clearly gone to the other side.

To put Hufh Hewitt's endorsement to bed, a search of Hewitt-Bolton reveals that Bolton has been a very frequent guest of Hewitt on Hewitt's venues. Cozy.

#20: Hewitt has been a successful radio talker for several decades, with a show that was once syndicated from LA LA land later in the day. He wasn't big in east coast markets, but had more of a following in the western states. I regularly caught his show during my stint of west coast living in the late 90s. Sometime in the last decade or so, he left CA and moved back to (I think) Columbus, Ohio, where he was born and raised. He never used to be a "harsh speaker" but if he is now, that's not apt to work long-term, as broadcast history is filled with failures who fit that mold -- most recently the cast of clowns at "Air America"...

And of course CNBC writes the headline to make the lo-infos think that this warmongering, treasonous, propagandist is a Trump buddy.
They don't mention that he also worked for/with BOTH Bush Presidencies, and was and is very simpatico with them.
