Chicago community leaders and longtime residents say the Obama Presidential Center risks washing away the neighborhood’s fabric, warning that proposed luxury developments tied to the project could price out families who have long called the South Side home, according to a report. They also say the sprawling 19.3-acre site in historic Jackson Park, with its 225-foot-tall concrete museum, has become an eyesore that disrupts the natural landscape and all locals are getting in return for the unsightly structure is soaring rents and higher tax bills.

The City of Chicago should take all the land adjacent to the Obama monstrosity, and build as many public housing projects that will fit on that land, call it affordable housing and go from there. The visitors staying at the luxury hotel would sure love to recreate and stroll through that affordable housing in the evenings no doubt about that.

Some residents "fear" they'll be displaced? For some of them, it's a practical certainty. And if they want to understand what they're up against, I refer them to the residents of Beijing who were told to "move along" in the mid-00s because their dwellings were going to be torn down to build venues for the 2008 Olympic Games. Given the Demonrat political hydra (leglislative, executive, and judicial) behind this, the residents' chances are slim...

First, notice they aren't calling it his presidential Library. Second, he never cared about the City of Chicago and left to never come back, as soon as he could. Third, Chicago was likely the only place that would allow it to be built with the builders being in total control. Fourth, can't wait to see what they actually put into the "center" as it certainly won't feature the January 5 2017 meeting in the Oval Office where the Conspiracy was launched to "get Trump" by targeting General Flynn. Never forget that meeting as it was during the supposedly peaceful transition.

The concrete contractor is suing the engineer for defamation- racism. Questions: Does Chicago get earthquakes? If this building was ready to come down, wouldn't the implosion be spectacular?

I live in Austin, TX. Up until about 25 years ago, the area of town right next to downtown on the east side of Interstate 35 was considered the "ghetto" part of town. Almost all black residents. And black leaders were constantly spewing how racist everyone else was because they wouldn't go to that part of town to eat in the restaurants and shop at the stores. So a bunch of guilty-feeling white limousine liberals started going over there (during the day only). What they discovered were a bunch of cool looking (though greatly in need of upkeep) homes and buildings. And they cost about 1/4 of what you could find homes for in the rest of Austin. So they started buying them up and fixing them up. Or they could get them so cheap they would tear down the existing house and build some modern building. They also started demanding more police presence in that area of town, so crime went down. Needless to say, property values skyrocketed, as did property taxes. Black people who had lived there for generations were priced out and forced to leave. Those same black leaders who were crying "racism" before were now crying "racist gentrification". So people of the South Side of Chicago, see your future. And you can think Øvomit for it happening!!!!

This is entertaining. This isn’t a small donation project. They’re at more than twice their original estimate and climbing toward $1 billion. They’ve probably already tapped out anyone who cares. Who’s paying for the maintenance and employees once it’s built? It hasn’t sunk in with the Obamas that their relevance is disappearing. Michelle’s failing podcast didn’t give them a hint. The Virginia Fraternal Order of Police is demanding that embattled Democratic attorney general hopeful Jay Jones exit the race “immediately” in light of the recently surfaced text messages showing him fantasizing about the former state House speaker getting shot in the head. Jones’ disturbing text messages in 2022 had surfaced late last week in a bombshell story, but the AG hopeful has remained in the race and local Democrats have stood by him. “This conduct has no place in our society or democracy, especially from an elected official who is running to be the top prosecutor in Virginia,” the Old Dominion State’s FOP wrote in a letter to Jones on Monday.

Joe Biden’s presidency was a multi-trillion dollar criminal conspiracy that shred every “norm,” violated nearly every right, and abused any power it could to punish its political opponents. The Trump administration’s prosecutions of Team Biden’s abuses of power may be the healthiest development for the rule of law since the end of Jim Crow. This is a story Republicans should tell with pride — and must tell incessantly, or the next Democrat administration will make Biden’s four years look like Camelot under Arthur.

At the specific request of then-Vice President Joe Biden, the CIA buried an embarrassing intelligence report detailing the poor view the Ukrainian government took of his diplomatic efforts and the business dealings of his own family in that country. Biden had traveled to Kyiv in December 2015, ostensibly to meet with leaders of that fledgling democracy and to deliver a warning against “the cancer of corruption.” And during an address to the Ukrainian parliament, he did condemn the “pervasive poison of cronyism, corruption, and kleptocracy.” But behind the scenes, Ukrainian officials expressed “bewilderment and disappointment” that the vice president had crossed the Atlantic “almost exclusively to deliver a generic speech.”

Germany could pull out of next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna if Israel is excluded, Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned on Sunday. Speaking on public broadcaster ARD, Merz was asked whether Germany should voluntarily forgo the contest under such circumstances. 'I would support that,' he said. 'I think it's a scandal that this is even being discussed. Israel belongs there.' The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is due to hold a vote in November to decide whether Israel will be permitted to compete in Eurovision 2026. If a majority among active EBU members votes against Israel's inclusion, the country will be barred from taking part in the globally-recognised competition.

What began as a quiet October Friday in Virginia politics erupted into a full-blown national scandal when screenshots of private, three-year old text messages showing Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones fantasizing about shooting then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children were made public. The National Review story revealed an August 2022 exchange between Jones — a former Norfolk delegate and one-time assistant attorney general — and Del. Carrie Coyner, R-Chesterfield. In the texts, Jones described a scenario in which Gilbert “gets two bullets to the head,” followed by a wish that the Republican lawmaker’s children “die in their mother’s arms.”

In blue cities across America—Portland, Oregon, especially—often violent protesters now seek to surround ICE facilities to stop federal officers from fulfilling their assigned and legal duties of arresting illegal aliens. Some 10 million or more illegal aliens were allowed to enter the U.S. during the Biden years—illegally and thus without criminal or health checks. There was a time in America when political violence provoked near-universal horror and condemnation. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan was a deeply polarizing figure — but when he was shot, his surgeon famously said, “Today, Mr. President, we are all Republicans.” That principle is fading, as we saw last month after the murder of Charlie Kirk. In a Manhattan store, I overheard a customer discussing that news: “I agree he was evil, but I do not think he could’ve been shot by anyone more evil.” “Trump will get worse now,” the cashier replied. We don’t know how the government shutdown will end. We do know what its defining image in Washington will be: A computer-generated sombrero, plopped onto the heads of prominent Democrats, accompanied by an equally cartoonish Pancho Villa mustache. The sombrero meme started with pro-Trump social media accounts and quickly jumped to the president himself, who shared an AI-generated video of Democratic leaders with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing the stereotypical costume. Reporters in the Brady Room earlier this week were greeted by the meme on a loop; the vice president, addressing them on the shutdown, laughed at Democrats who were offended by the trope.

Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer says that there’s only one party that wants to shut the government down. He’s right: it’s only Democrats who won’t allow the Senate a few more weeks at current spending levels to agree on a new budget. The shutdown highlights three weaknesses undermining the Democrat Party as we head toward next year’s midterm elections. First, the left wing of the party is running the show. Schumer is terrified of being primaried by New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC); his obstinance is a matter of survival, not conscience.

You lied, you admitted you lied to be elected a U.S. senator,” she said, speaking over Blumenthal.

A Dallas-based auto lender built on giving car loans to illegals has just gone belly up, and it’s dragging Wall Street down with it. Tricolor Holdings was once hailed by the US Treasury as a “community development” success story. Now, they’ve just filed for bankruptcy as fraud allegations and a full-blown federal investigation overtake them. The company, which sold overpriced used cars to illegals and wrapped the scheme in a feel-good “social lending” label, is leaving major US banks like JPMorgan, Barclays, and Fifth Third staring at massive losses.

The FBI secretly obtained the phone records of nine Republican members of Congress, including eight sitting senators, under the Biden administration as part of its “Arctic Frost” investigation of 2020 election meddling, a bombshell document revealed. Specific reasons for the FBI’s espionage of the sitting lawmakers are not clear. The document revealing the spy effort was recently turned over to lawmakers and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released it to the public on Monday. “Based on the evidence to-date, Arctic Frost and related weaponization by federal law enforcement under Biden was arguably worse than Watergate,” Grassley said in a statement.

French President Emmanuel Macron is running out of wiggle room. The abrupt resignation of his prime minister Monday — Macron’s fourth in more than a year of almost ceaseless political upheaval — puts the French leader in a bind. None of the options now look appealing for Macron, from his perspective at least. And for France, the road ahead promises more of the political uncertainty that is eroding investor confidence in the European Union’s second-largest economy and is frustrating efforts to rein in France’s damaging state deficit and debts. Domestic turmoil also risks diverting Macron’s focus from pressing international issues — wars in Gaza and Ukraine, security threats from Russia,

Students at Auburn University taking "Crime and Justice in America" are learning queer criminology, which includes lessons on radical gender ideology that contradict Alabama's definition of sex, critical race theory —the notion that the Black Lives Matter movement has been a positive influence on the nation and other progressive theories on race and racism. Of the course material reviewed, 100% were progressive with ideological talking points.

Jesse Jackson Jr. will reportedly announce a run to reclaim his old congressional seat in Illinois after vacating it more than a decade ago following his conviction on fraud charges. “We must fight them at every level to restore decency, fairness, and equity back into the federal government,” reads a line from the Jesse Jackson Jr. for Congress webpage. Jackson, 60, the son of prominent political activist and minister Jesse Jackson, was sentenced to 30 months in prison “for conspiring to defraud his reelection campaigns of about $750,000 in funds that were used to pay for personal items and expenses, including high-end appliances and electronics, and then filing misleading reports

The Trump administration's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put the nail in the coffin of one-size-fits-all COVID-19 vaccine recommendations Monday, updating its children and adult vaccination schedules to encourage physicians, nurses and pharmacists to discuss harms and benefits from vaccination specific to each patient before they get jabbed. Parents may get an incomplete picture from healthcare providers who don't look too closely at federally funded research that promotes indiscriminate COVID jabs for kids, though. A research consortium buried a startling finding in its peer-reviewed study on biologically elusive "long COVID" and reinfection in patients under 21, published in a prestigious U.K. journal:

A majority of registered voters believe that Republicans will win the shutdown fight, a survey from Harvard-Harris found. The survey asked respondents, “Who do you think will win the government shutdown — the Democrats or the Republicans?” Across the board, 62 percent said Republicans will win the shutdown fight, while just 38 percent expressed confidence that Democrats will emerge victorious. Republicans are overwhelmingly confident that they will win — 92 percent — and most independents, 62 percent, also believe Republicans will emerge as the victors. However, 70 percent of Democrats believe they will win the shutdown battle

A far-left University of Chicago professor has been arrested and charged with violent felonies following riots at an ICE facility in the city, law enforcement has said. Eman Abdelhadi, an associate professor in the university’s Department of Comparative Human Development, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a government employee, a Class 3 felony, and two counts of resisting/obstruction peace, a Class A misdemeanor, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News. Radical sociologist Abdelhadi, who previously cursed out her employer while speaking at a “Socialism 2025” conference, is due in court again on Tuesday.
