Wind and solar energy, along with the batteries and transmission lines they require to function even minimally, are inherently bad for the environment. But sometimes they are even worse, as when turbine blades fail. This sad story from the Nantucket Current is one we have seen repeatedly around the country: GE Vernova will pay the town of Nantucket and island businesses $10.5 million as part of a settlement related to the offshore wind turbine blade failure in July 2024 at the Vineyard Wind farm. *** The town announced the settlement Friday morning with GE Vernova, the manufacturer of the Haliade-X turbine that failed, nearly one year since the 300-foot-long blade

Most of the turbines along I-70 in Kansas show signs of massive oil leakage at the blade hub rotation seals, brown stains all down the blade inner 1.3 or so, and the tower under the cab is also brown, apparently oil leaking from the rotation bearing seal there, too. How long before they run out of oil and sling a blade out onto I-70 traffic? Who is responsible for repairing these pieces of crap?

One day these tings may actually work, but before that happens each one of them has to be made to produce a lot more electricity than they do now. This whole green thing the Demorats pushed so hard was monumental waste of funds.

A solar panel farm near Katy, Tx was wiped out by a hailstorm. Hailstorms occur occasionally in Texas, so I don't think I would want them on my roof.

Large wind turbine bearings are subject to "brinelling" (flattening damage due to heavy weight loading) when not turning. They must also be kept turning to keep the generators warm during cold weather. So they are kept turning by diesel powered motors. Ironic, no?

Millions spent on feeding feel good egos on a solution (for a problem that doesn't exist) that doesn't work anywhere near as well as promised, and has all sorts of mechanical problems that CANNOT be overcome, and can NEVER supply the energy that is needed, depends partly on battery technology that cannot possible store enough energy and the required scope of which cannot be be manufactured, kills birds and bats and other creatures, is noisy, and uses vast amounts of land. Planning on wind and solar to "save" us is insane.

Well AlGore made millions from the green energy push. He sold carbon footprints to major businesses, factories, large chemical plants along rivers, everywhere his little tushy could find a seat, he sold them, for Millions. No one has ever explained how he came to own them.

On Sunday, Yemenis, commonly referred to as Houthis, attacked a ship called the Magic Seas, a Greek-owned vessel, in the Red Sea. The pirates attacked and captured the Magic Seas: It is thought the Yemen-based terror group initially attacked using a swarm of boats, small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. They then used kamikaze drones. Having seized control of the bulk carrier, the gunmen simultaneously detonated multiple charges around the ship’s hull, causing it to sink. The crew abandoned ship after being accosted by the pirates and, I believe, were rescued. The Yemenis released shocking, and highly sophisticated, drone-shot video of their attack. The sinking of the Magic Seas is stunning: (X)

Progressives love unions. Not only do unions protect workers, they say, unions gave us the weekend and the middle class. I say, capitalism created the middle class. Employers, competing for better workers, gave us the weekend. But whatever you think about capitalism, few people question the claim that unions help workers. But I will. It's the focus of my new video. A couple years ago, the Teamsters demanded more pay from UPS. Seemed like UPS could easily afford it. The company made almost $13 billion in 2021. UPS used some of that money to hire more union workers. Then they offered them raises. But Teamster boss Sean O'Brien wanted more. He threatened a strike.

Former White House physician Kevin O'Connor's closed-door interview with the House Oversight Committee ended after less than an hour on Wednesday morning, with the doctor giving investigators virtually no new insights. O'Connor pleaded the Fifth Amendment to multiple questions about his time with former President Joe Biden during his sit-down. It resulted in a hasty end to what could have been an hours-long deposition. "I'm going to read the first two questions that were asked. 'Were you ever told to lie about the president's health?' He pleaded the Fifth Amendment. He would not answer that question.

Like a particularly nasty case of herpes (or so I’m told since I don’t have personal experience), Stacey Abrams just won’t go away. No matter how hard Georgia voters try to send her down the memory hole, Abrams pops up from time to time for some uninformed rhetoric that shows how untethered she is to reality and how committed to left-wing cliches she is. The two-term governor of Georgia — check that, two-time loser in the Georgia governor’s race — spoke at a retreat where she outlined “10 steps to autocracy”: She later appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” with guest host Anthony Anderson to trot out that old left-wing trope that

Over this July 4th holiday weekend, the controversy over the Minnesota state flag has re-emerged. From the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Some communities won’t fly new state flag: ‘It’s not a greater Minnesota flag.’ “Greater Minnesota” is how we refer to the rural parts of the state, which represent the vast majority of the state by area. Here is the old state flag, which flew in more or less this form from 1893 to 2024. Apparently, the problem was, buried deep in the emblem, is the depiction of a Native American riding a horse. That, and the state’s motto (The Star of the North) is rendered in the original French.

The Black Lives Matter hashtag and slogan was developed in 2013 in reaction to the (lawful self-defense) shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. The following year, 2014, the organization was formalized by self-avowed “trained Marxists” after the (lawful) police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Those two shootings falsely were portrayed as racially motivated, while the facts (which we covered in exhaustive detail at the time) proved otherwise. Nonetheless the narrative was set and hating America and being American was necessary to be accepted into Democrat spaces. Even Bernie was not spared the wrath of BLM activists.

Zohran Mamdani has admitted listing his race as “black” on a college admission form. He is not black—he is ethnically South Asian because, by his own admission, his ancestors all came from India. It is impossible to know what went through his head when Mamdani lied on his Columbia University admission form, but the most obvious reason for doing so would have been to give himself an advantage over other applicants. If that was the case, it was not just lying; it was cheating. Lying on a college admission form is not a criminal offense, but most would say it is unethical.

But much more happened as the week unfolded. The Big Beautiful Bill passed, as we knew it would, despite the Democrats’ most over-the-top hysteria in, perhaps, forever. Democrats suffering from severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) are now displaying another symptom: staging ill-conceived confrontations to get street cred with their antifa progressive base. Some recent headlines: North Carolina state Rep. Julie von Haefen attended a “No Kings” protest and was photographed holding what appeared to be an effigy of the decapitated heads of Trump and his senior policy advisor, Stephen Miller. U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver was charged in a three-count indictment for forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers—all seen on video. New York City Mayoral candidate Brad Lander got the publicity he desired by trying to help illegal alien criminals by allegedly assaulting a federal law enforcement officer.

The decision could result in hundreds of thousands of job losses at the departments of agriculture, commerce, health and human services, state, treasury, veterans

ISRAEL says some of Iran's highly-enriched near weapons-grade uranium stockpile survived US bombings during the 12-Day War last month. Doubts remained about whether Iran quietly removed 408.6 kgs of uranium from its most sensitive sites before the strikes - potentially hiding nuclear material elsewhere in the country. The uranium in question is enriched to 60 per cent - way above levels for civilian usage but slightly below weapons-grade. That material, if further refined to 90 per cent, would theoretically be sufficient to produce more than nine nuclear bombs. An Israeli official told The New York Times some of the uranium stockpile survived the US and Israeli bombings last month
