Political geeks often obsess about poll numbers, but outside election years, we tend only to have access to national numbers. National approval ratings are not irrelevant, of course, but they don't actually tell you what political geeks need to know to gauge potential election outcomes. Political players in Washington, though, care much more about what their specific constituents think, not what the vast number of voters in coastal cities do. The Democrats and the Left are trying their darndest to create a narrative that Trump is hiding these files because he is not only named in the records, but complicit in Epstein's crimes. On Sunday, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem appeared on "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker" to discuss the recent flooding in Texas, along with the horrible human cost of that event. The "Meet the Press" anchor also asked several questions about the ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to detain and repatriate illegal aliens, including last week's raid on a California pot farm.
Now, NBC isn't particularly friendly ground for Trump administration officials at the best of times, but Secretary Noem handled it adroitly enough; Kristen Welker's occasional attempts at a "gotcha" fell flat.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass promised that illegal aliens would receive cash payments as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have continued conducting raids and enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.
On Friday, Bass explained that illegal migrants would receive a “couple hundred” dollars on cash cards, adding that the “money will not come from city coffers but from philanthropic partners,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Per the outlet, the cash cards “should be available in about a week,” and will be given out “by immigrants rights groups such as the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.”

Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, issued two restraining orders late on Friday. Frimpong was nominated by President Joe Biden and is the daughter of two immigrants from Ghana. She was selected by both Harvard and Yale universities.[snip]The suspects’ race and ethnicity, their difficulty speaking English, their location at sites known for hiring illegal immigrants, and their class of work do not meet the “probable cause” requirement for arrests, the judge ruled.

A 62-year-old woman has been charged after driving through a crowd of anti-ICE protesters who surrounded and began pounding on her car in New Jersey.
Linda Roglen, 62, of North Bergen, was driving past the Noches De Colombia on Fairview Avenue in the borough of Fairview when she encountered a group protesting ICE raids on Saturday.
One of the protesters confronted her car, and she sped up, allegedly running over his foot.
The man falls to the ground, Roglen stops, and the protesters swarm her vehicle and begin banging on the windows.
At this point, the car is surrounded, and Roglen slowly drives through.

Three men whom authorities say are illegal aliens were arrested in Purcell, Oklahoma, and charged for cutting apart and stealing copper coaxial lines from a U.S. Cellular antenna site.
