Tennessee Rep. Mark Green announced that he has resigned from Congress to take a mysterious new job — narrowing Republicans’ already ultra-slim majority by one seat ahead of messy fights such as the looming government shutdown battle in the fall.
The retired US Army officer had revealed his intention to step down last month after passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but had refrained from giving an exact date. On Friday, he tendered his resignation, which is effective July 20, per his letter to GOP leadership.

The Democrat caucus is full of old fogies. I am sure one will croak to even the score.

That canned farewell speech has green moss hanging on it. Where did he buy it - at the 99c Store?

Hey NYP. Ever think a special election would put a republican in the seat?

Frankly I don't know why anyone would want in Congress. Of course the Wall Street insider tips are pretty good. Just ask Nancy. s/o Even if the illegals can't legally vote (a lot of them will vote anyway) the dems want them here so they get more representatives per the census. One vote cushion isn't anything to write home about. Especially with the RINOS roaming the halls of Congress.

Probably going to work for a Soros, Gates, WEF etc. Foundation, as a bagman to deliver bribes to his old buddies in Congress.

Would anyone be surprised to learn that the DNC is his new employer? This dirtbag thanked Tennesseans for their trust right after BETRAYING them! What an ASS!

"Threadbare"?
That's an odd, ill-fitting term to use in this instance.
Something does not smell right.

By now President Trump should have all the evidence he needs for this:
From now on, every time a Republican resigns, indict a Democrat.

The governor of Tennessee is a self-described social conservative, a devout Christian, and has suffered personal tragedies that have strengthened his faith.
I'm betting on his appointing someone who shares his political and cultural views.
Lok up his biography; very good man.

Gov. Bill Lee won 93 of Tennessee's 95 counties enroute to reelection in 2022. That's up from the 92 he won in 2018. He improved his share of the vote in every county but one.
Only Memphis (also known as East St. Louis) and Nashville (known as the place where failed entertainers go to vote) went for the Dem. candidate.

#13. Unlike the Senate, the Governor cannot appoint someone to serve in the House under any circumstances. The vacancy has to be filled by a special election. The Democrats are fully aware of this. They’re trying to take control before the midterms. The ignorant traitors are not moving into stable positions.

So the Repukes are doing again what they did on Trump's first term under the instructions of Paul Ryan. Resign so they can give congress back to the corrupt democrats.

Paraphrasing Twain: "History doesn't repeat itself. But it sure does rhyme."
The 2026 midterms are looking eerily similar to the 2018 midterms, when several GOP congress critters mysteriously decided to retire en masse. Added to dem ballot harvesting, their retirements all but ensured a dem majority in the House that year. That led to two impeachment attempts on Trump.
WRT, to Greene. He was only 7 months into his term. Not buying his reasons. Something is afoot. Looks like he was paid off and/or blackmailed into doing so. Expect more GOP 'retirements'.
