The Decline and Fall of Our So-Called
Degreed Experts

Original Article

The first six months of the Trump administration have not been kind to the experts and the degree-holding classes.Almost daily during the tariff hysterias of March, we were told by university economists and most of the PhDs employed in investment and finance that the U.S. was headed toward a downward, if not recessionary, spiral.[snip] Instead, recent data show increases in tariff revenue. Personal real income and savings were up. Job creation exceeded prognoses. There was no surge in inflation. The supposedly "crashed" stock market reached historic highs.

Comments:

Trump toppled the so-called experts. They have fallen and they can’t get up.

In my workplace during the early '80s posted in the break room was a crude drawing of a man relieving himself with the caption, "X-Pert". That is the image in my mind's eye whenever I come across the word "expert". Need I say more?

I've had my fill of "experts" and "scientists" since covid! Other than engineers, who are pretty good at reasoning, most college degrees are unimpressive to me anymore. Especially medical degrees, since they are in a straight jacket with protocol pushed by the CDC. I'm down to preferring the skill set of a farmer these days.

FTA - "Universities now wage war against free-thinkers, free speech, free expression, and anything that freely questions the deductive groupthink of the diversity/equity/inclusion commissariat, and global warming orthodoxies." Higher education is, of course, the epicenter of leftism. The universities promote a value system that is devoid of morality and spirituality. Go to any university and search for a single reference to God, our Creator. You won't see it. America is being neutered slowly but surely. But I'll say one thing - President Trump has sure put a real hurt on leftism in general, no?

Years ago, I attended a short seminar titled 'Handling Difficult Personality Types'. This article brings two of those personality types to mind. The first was the 'fake expert' which was portrayed as a man with a flat head and a very big mouth. In other words, your typical brainless loudmouth. You don't want to listen to this guy because his ideas are just plain bad and only lead to problems. The other was the 'true expert' who was portrayed by the super villain Brainiac who had an oversized cranium. The problem with this guy was that he expected to control any discussion and there was no room for any other ideas but his own. This guy basically sucked the oxygen out of a room so nobody else could even speak. It's interesting watching Trump. He listens so he can be influenced but he ultimately runs over everyone else involved. He dominates any discussion or so it would appear. Look at how he handled Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Look at how he has handled trade talks and so many other issues, for example, the border. He gets his way. If you are in his way, you are likely to get run over.

They so wanted what they were saying to be true so it would ruin the Trump agenda. It's really all they wanted to do, not be accurate or correct, but to have people think it might likely happen and make them scared. I have a cousin who took all his 401-k money out of the market and put it in cash. Saw him a few months later and he admitted it wasn't a smart move but was convinced by those "experts" that what they were saying was going to happen and figured he would get out before it crashed.

Most of the experts come from college believe getting degrees makes make them smarter and superior to most other people; they are the elite. They believe this because their professors told them this is so. Wisdom comes when they realize this is nor necessarily so.

When people think of American commerce, they think of New York. And when people think of American Jewish culture, they also think of New York, which has the largest Jewish community of any city in the world outside of Israel. But if the polls are correct, New York may soon have a mayor who is an avowed Marxist and an antisemite. (And yes, I equate anti-Zionism directly with antisemitism.)Tomorrow is voting day in the New York Democrat party mayoral primary. This matters because the greatest likelihood is that whoever wins the Democrat primary will be New York City’s next mayor. The chances of a Republican winning, after all, are slim.

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough, a Harry Reid appointee with a selective interpretation of how the Byrd Rule can be applied to reconciliation bills, has been doing the bidding of the Democrats in ruling that major provisions of President Trump's "One Big, Beautiful Bill" are subject to the Byrd Rule and therefore are ineligible to be part of a reconciliation bill. That means that, according to MacDonough, those provisions have to go through the normal Senate process and need 60 votes for passage instead of a simple majority.

Zohran Mamdani has admitted listing his race as “black” on a college admission form. He is not black—he is ethnically South Asian because, by his own admission, his ancestors all came from India. It is impossible to know what went through his head when Mamdani lied on his Columbia University admission form, but the most obvious reason for doing so would have been to give himself an advantage over other applicants. If that was the case, it was not just lying; it was cheating. Lying on a college admission form is not a criminal offense, but most would say it is unethical.

The Black Lives Matter hashtag and slogan was developed in 2013 in reaction to the (lawful self-defense) shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. The following year, 2014, the organization was formalized by self-avowed “trained Marxists” after the (lawful) police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Those two shootings falsely were portrayed as racially motivated, while the facts (which we covered in exhaustive detail at the time) proved otherwise.
