Donald Trump told senior aides late Tuesday that he approved attack plans for Iran.
The development comes amid intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel,as both nations continue to exchange fire in what has become the region’s most volatile standoff in years.
The president has however withheld a final order to see if Tehran would abandon its nuclear program, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing three people familiar with the deliberations. The Pentagon is providing options to the President as he decides next steps - but would not confirm whether the military was planning to assist with Israeli strikes.
Right-wing pundit Tucker Carlson suggested that the US should contemplate nuking Iran if allegations are true that the theocratic regime has been conspiring to assassinate President Trump, during a fiery two-hour debate with Sen. Ted Cruz.

An armed migrant allegedly chased down U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III outside a hotel in Albany, New York, on Tuesday, in what prosecutors are calling a murder attempt.
According to reports, the attacker allegedly walked up to Sarcone, a Trump appointee, began yelling in Spanish, then pulled out a knife and threatened the official, the Albany Times Union reported.
Sarcone reportedly backed away and into the hotel as the man attempted to follow him. Police say the whole encounter was captured by the hotel’s security cameras.
Prosecutors have identified the attacker as Saul Morales-Garcia, 40, an illegal alien from El Salvador.

Federal law enforcement officers have arrested an illegal alien sex offender who dragged an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent with his car while attempting to evade arrest.
On Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials announced that law enforcement arrested illegal alien and convicted child sex offender Roberto Carlos Munoz.
According to DHS, Munoz had recently dragged an ICE agent 50 yards with his car in Bloomington, Minnesota, as the agent was attempting to arrest him.
The ICE agent had pulled Munoz over in a traffic stop, but the illegal alien refused to exit his vehicle, instead putting his car in drive while the agent’s arm was still in his vehicle.
A doctor charged with giving Matthew Perry ketamine in the month leading up to the “Friends” star’s overdose death will plead guilty, according to an agreement filed in court Monday.
Dr. Salvador Plasencia agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distribution of ketamine, according to the signed document filed in federal court in Los Angeles. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to drop three additional counts of distribution of ketamine and two counts of falsifying records.
Federal prosecutors said in a statement that the plea carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison. They said Plasencia is expected to formally plead guilty in the coming weeks.

On Tuesday, Lander showed up at a Manhattan courthouse to observe immigration hearings involving illegal aliens facing deportation and proceeded to allegedly prevent an ICE agent from taking custody of one such illegal alien.

Two men were stabbed at New York City's Grand Central Station during rush hour Wednesday morning. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the Mezzanine area of the bustling transit hub at approximately 7.20am, the NYPD told DailyMail.com. Upon arrival, police found a 28-year-old male victim who had been stabbed in the abdomen by an unidentified individual. I spent Father’s Day weekend in Hood River, Oregon, and stumbled upon the local “No Kings” anti-Trump protest. A new poll released Tuesday reveals just 16 percent of Americans want to get involved in the Israel-Iran war.
The poll, conducted earlier this week by The Economist and analytics group YouGov, found 16 percent of Americans think the “U.S. military should get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran;” 60 percent say it should not, and 24 percent are “not sure.(snip).Fifty percent of Americans “view Iran as an enemy to the U.S.,” while 25 percent call the nation “unfriendly,” according to the poll. The law, modeled after a now-revised California measure, requires large social networks to publish their content moderation rules and file twice-yearly reports to the attorney general detailing “hate speech” removals, “disinformation” takedowns and other enforcement actions. X argues the disclosures mandate mirrors the California law a federal appeals court partially blocked last year, according to Reuters.
Federal officials have now confirmed charges against Alejandro Orellana, the man previously identified as distributing “bionic shields” during violent protests in downtown Los Angeles. In a press conference, the U.S. Attorney’s Office revealed that Orellana has been taken into custody and charged with multiple federal crimes stemming from his role in aiding violent agitators.

The high court ruled 6-3 in rejecting the challenge from the Biden administration, three families and a physician who had argued that Tennessee's law violated the Constitution's guarantee of equal protection under the law. The court concluded that the state's measure, enacted in 2023, does not run afoul of the 14th Amendment.
