Green Energy: Terrible For the Environment

Original Article

Green energy is a disaster in several ways: it is inherently unreliable and ridiculously expensive. Some people naively assume, however, that wind and solar energy make up for these liabilities by being good for the environment. They couldn’t be more wrong. The basic problem with wind turbines and solar panels (plus hypothetical batteries) is that they are extremely low-intensity. Do they work? Intermittently, yes. But compared with conventional energy sources, they produce a very small amount of energy on a per-unit of input basis. Thus, they require both enormous amounts of land and vast quantities of raw materials. Thus, to supply America’s electricity with wind turbines would require

It was a terrible idea from beginning to end. In about 30 years it may come about, but to destroy our capabilities to go on an experimental project supported by nut cases was insane. Billions of dollars wasted.

Several years ago on a trip to Australia, I saw a perfect example of this at Ayers Rock, the massive formation which sits in the middle of the vast red outback desert. The annual rainfall there is about 7 inches per year and the sun shines all day almost every day. There is a small resort area there with 3 or 4 small two story hotels and a few shops and restaurants. It’s surrounded by fields and fields of solar panels. In that climate, you’d think that the whole resort could be run on solar energy from those thousands of panels. I asked a tour guide how much of the resort’s energy was supplied by the solar fields. 15%. That’s it. The rest of their energy came from fuel being brought in by tanker trucks. Pathetic.

Elementary physics my dear Watson. Wind and Solar have been the wet dream of the greenies for many years but it's a nightmare for the planet. Every time I see our beautiful mountains and ocean vistas topped by those lazily turning monstrosities, I want to mow them down.

Frequency. In order to deliver reliable electricity, a constant frequency(60 Hz in US)must be maintained. The inertia of massive rotating alternators provide stability in conventional power generation. Windmills power DC generators and solar panels convert sunlight to DC power which is converted to AC power electronically. No inertia to maintain frequency.

It should be called 'Red Energy'. Because, from curly light bulbs, to solar panels and lithium batteries, it benefits primarily the Red Chinese...and sold-out American politicians with blood on their hands. The only way it should achieve dominance is when it succeeds in the marketplace; not by Govt. fiat.

We have a solar farm near us… what an eyesore. I’d bet the upkeep costs more than their profit (if any). And as far as natural? It’s ugly, they’ve clear cut acres and acres of woodland, displaced god only knows how many animals from their homes. How green is that?

It was never meant as a sane solution. It was a way to get taxpayer money into the hands of DC cronies. It was meant to kill the oil and gas industries and make the citizens dependent on the government. Imagine these huge non-degradable blades for wind energy filling up our landfills!

It's worth going to the link on the book, and reading the Executive Summary. Wind and solar are expensive, unreliable, polluting disasters which mar the landscape over hundreds of square miles instead of the 1 square mile of a conventional power plant.

Re #7, the profit on the solar farm is in the form of TAX benefits or direct taxpayer subsidies. If these disappear, the solar and wind farms disappear right behind them. STOP government subsidies to solar and wind.

As you already guessed, the city is Oakland, California. The eighth largest city in Gavin Newsom’s California, and home to northern California’s largest port, the city has always taken a backseat to the more glamorous burg across the Bay. Few will recall that former governor Jerry Brown spent two terms as mayor during his comeback tour to regain his old job in Sacramento. Now the truth can be told about that massive electrical grid failure in the Iberian peninsula back in April. From SkyNews, The massive power cut that plunged huge swathes of Spain and Portugal into chaos earlier this year was caused by a miscalculation, the Spanish government has said. ,”Miscalculation.” SkyNews reports, There was discussion about whether a cyberattack was to blame, but today Spain’s energy minister said the issue was a miscalculation by the Spanish power grid operator REE. Sara Aagesen said REE did not have enough thermal power stations switched on during peak hours of April 28 when the surge caused a chain reaction leading to the power outage. In this context,

Soy Boy California state Sen. Scott Wiener (D) wants law enforcement to stop wearing masks to cover their identity, but has no problem with violent domestic terrorists wearing masks at the same “protests.” How upside down is that? We are not talking about peaceful protests here. Those who are burning, looting, setting cars on fire, and breaking windows are domestic terrorists, not peaceful protestors. Peaceful protestors hold placards, set up stands with mics, or civilly disobey. But once they turn the corner to destroying private property, burning cars in the streets, throwing chunks of cement at passing cars, and doxxing law enforcement officials, they become criminals.

As you may have noticed, celebrations of “pride” have been much more subdued this Pride Month than they were in recent memory. The parades this year are less conspicuous and bombastic. Corporate websites are less obnoxious and explicit. And perhaps most notably, triumphant in-store displays have disappeared almost entirely or, at the very least, are much smaller and more restrained than in past years. According to some in the mainstream media, all of this moderation—or abandonment—of LGBT “pride” has the same root cause as all evils in contemporary America: Donald Trump. The president is so mean, so nasty, and so omnipotent that companies fear him and

A new report by State Armor argues that the CCP is co-opting the American progressive climate change lobby to advance a transition away from fossil fuels. The alternative technologies being pushed by this lobby, according to the report, create significant economic and geopolitical advantages by undermining U.S. energy dominance and leaving it

In wartime it’s particularly difficult to ascertain what’s happening. Governments have a natural and healthy instinct to hide from public eyes what is going on, even those fully democratic ones which in peace have some constraints on official censorship. Nevertheless, the fact that so many people around the world have video-capable mobile phones and access to the internet makes it harder to hide what is happening. All week long I’ve been looking at these videos, reading official IDF reports and statements by leaders of involved countries and they show that Stacey McCain and Lee Smith, whose takes I link to below, are in full

Carbon dioxide, we’ve been told over and again, is the enemy that must be subdued if we are to avoid catastrophic global warming. It is, however, a faulty premise. Physics, not politics, tells us that man’s CO2 emissions will not cause catastrophic climate change nor an increase in extreme weather. “The common belief that CO2 is the main driver of climate change and the EPA Endangerment Finding assertion that ‘elevated concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere may reasonably be anticipated’ to endanger the public health and welfare are scientifically false,” conclude the authors of a new paper.

Israel needs a 15-ton ‘bunker buster’ bomb to destroy the last untouched nuclear facility in Iran, but only the US has one. Such a powerful weapon – the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal – is needed because the target, Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, is built some 300 feet inside a mountain near the city of Qom, two hours south of Tehran. The heavyweight explosive is known as a GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator and was designed by Boeing for the United States Air Force. Its huge weight means it can only be delivered with a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber – a jet Israel’s air force does not possess.
