Right-wing pundit Tucker Carlson suggested that the US should contemplate nuking Iran if allegations are true that the theocratic regime has been conspiring to assassinate President Trump, during a fiery two-hour debate with Sen. Ted Cruz.
Carlson scoffed at Cruz (R-Texas) for confirming to him that Tehran has conspired to kill Trump and argued in disbelief that if those accusations are real, the US needs to respond with military force.
“This just seems like a huge headline and you’re acting like everyone knows this. I didn’t know that,” responded Carlson after having needled the Texas

Once I doted on Carlson. Now I just troll on him. He is lost. Maybe money went to his head, but I tend to believe it's his rear. Or at least that's where his head is lodged.

Tucker has gone crazy. I can't explain it. I have quit listening to anybody. All of them are pretending to know something, while reporting from their studios.

Tucker, like Ann Coulter before him, appears to have jumped the shark . . .

Carlson acted like a school-age kid attempting to one-up his opponent on inane side issues in a high-school debate, while missing the over-arching point. When Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union "an Evil Empire" he didn't know how many millions of people it had or how many ethnicities it had. It mattered not a whit. All that mattered was that the Soviets, at the time of Reagan's 1980 election, had superior numbers of a variety of conventional arms and were feverishly working to attain superiority in nuclear weapons, with an expectation of forcing the west to back down in a future confrontation. Today's mullahs in Iran are no different in their expectations. And they are guided by a religious zealotry (not shared by most of their fellow Shia Muslims) that actually seeks the kind of confrontation that a doctrine of "Mutually Assured Destruction" normally dissuades. Carlson must know all of this and yet persists in painting the mullahs as Kumbaye singers. I suspect the man has either had a severe head injury or he's doing this for money...

I am SO over Tucker. Somehow he has just come unglued. Reminds me of Ann Coulter's descent into madness.

Tucker has gone 'Glenn Beck'. I never cared for him much as I couldn't stand his incessant giggling.

Saw this headline - Is it TRUE? - Laura Loomer on Tucker Carlson: His media company is literally funded by a MUSLIM investor who is half Pakistani and half Iranian and who spends a lot of time in Qatar.

A pure guess, Tucker's done with the harassment and threats that come with his public image.
He's trying to take the heat off himself at our country's expense. HIs principles have always been known
to be fluid and self-serving so this latest turn is not surprising.
He doesn't need any money so just go away, Tucker, continue your quest for manhood off camera.

There is nothing the Carlson Clown thinks, says or does that is worthy of anyone's consideration. It has been that way for years.

#11: N.B.: A CNN poll released today shows that opposition to Iran getting a nuke is an 80/20 issue among Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. So if you're with Carlson and "you didn't vote for this" ... just understand that 80% of Americans who voted -- whether for Harris or Trump -- did. You and Carlson have been out-voted by a wide swath of the public. Only Carlson is being enriched for the dumb perspectives he holds, and you just have interesting handle... :-)

The OP is correct about the "nasty, bullying and self-righteous tones." That's a fair description , however, not only of some of Carlson's comments on this issue but a good many of the attacks on him as well, most definitely including the article under discussion. (Compare what Carlson is accurately reported to have said about Iran's possible assassination plotting in the article's first sentence with the funhouse mirror version in its title.)

No Nukes. Iran needs regime change, but it doesn't need to be nuked to get it.
What is really needed is an internal change by the Iranian people. That is the only real solution.

Tucker has lost his mind, he is almost maniacal at times. I think getting bounced from Fox did a lot of damage to his psyche and his ego, and this is the result.

I don't give a flying flip about Tuck Tuck, but even I know he showed his rabidly antisemitic colors a while back. If some of y'all weren't paying attention then, maybe you will now.

Why is it our responsibility to Regime change any country Israel does not approve. Tulsi just said to the congress that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon, what changed on a few weeks?. Is it the stupid WMD from Iraq all over again. Now you guys are upset with Tucker for pointing it out. All the people who voted for Trump are not mindless robots like the imbecile left are.

So Tulsi says something and some of you actually believe her? The idiot Tulsi doesn't know Diddly P. Squat!
I believe Israel--since their very life depends on knowing the truth about Iran!

I don't know what's gotten into Tucker lately with his lashing out at fellow Republicans in nasty, bullying, self-righteous tones. I've lost a lot of respect for him in the past couple of weeks. Maybe not enough people are subscribing to his podcast and he's trying to keep himself in the news, I'm grateful that, although his name was bandied about, he was not chosen as Trump's VP. I guess you might say that I'm just a bit "tuckered out."
