A senior Army officer has been dismissed from his position inside the Joint Chiefs of Staff office tasked with developing policy and strategy for the Middle East over inflammatory comments he made about Israel and its relationship with the U.S. on social media. Colonel Nathan McCormack, an Army infantry officer who served as a branch chief of the office focusing on Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel in the Joint Staff's Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate (J5), was removed from a job he's held since June 2024, after media pointed out he'd referred to Israel as a "death cult" and railed against “Netanyahu and his Judeo-supremacist cronies.”

Surely one of those remaining questions should be why was he not already fired by his superiors? He had obviously not been too particular about hiding his identity, or his opinions. He seems to have been far too free with some information and his opinions about it. Was he still there because they agree with him? They provide information to the Secretary of Defense. That information needs to be accurate and unbiased.

I experienced a good bit of this "these people are our friends" crap while flying in the middle east. And it was always from Army pukes It was all I could do, on SO many occasions, NOT to say "Major, how about you shut the flock up and get off my damn airplane?" But it would have been the A/C's butt along with mine. And it was not my place to do that to him.

What is important is to understand that this man will not say or post these things unless they lie well within the policy and ideological framework accepted and pushed by his superiors. That’s what needs to be addressed.

It appears the rot in the upper ranks of the armed forces is deeper than anyone realized. You can bet this O-6’s opinions are held by a lot of field-grade and general officers at the Pentagon. These attitudes have prevailed since Obama cleared the officer corps of warriors and replaced them with REMFs. Pete Hegseth has his work cut out for him. This colonel should be strongly counseled to retire immediately.

How does somebody get that high up in the military establishment by getting it so wrong? He didn't even have the advantage of a Tranny promotion like Rachel Levine did. Israel started exactly zero wars in the Middle East but finished quite a few. Winning in a war often produces death so maybe that's where his mistake was.

The military does not tolerate anyone who tells the truth. They much prefer people who jump up and down and cheer the current stylish initiative, like they did with covid shots and DEI and gay month. The only reason Isarael is our "friend" is because we have common enemies. Russia was our friend in the early 1940's.

A shock poll suggests that the Marxist-Muslim

When people think of American commerce, they think of New York. And when people think of American Jewish culture, they also think of New York, which has the largest Jewish community of any city in the world outside of Israel. But if the polls are correct, New York may soon have a mayor who is an avowed Marxist and an antisemite. (And yes, I equate anti-Zionism directly with antisemitism.)Tomorrow is voting day in the New York Democrat party mayoral primary. This matters because the greatest likelihood is that whoever wins the Democrat primary will be New York City’s next mayor. The chances of a Republican winning, after all, are slim.

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough, a Harry Reid appointee with a selective interpretation of how the Byrd Rule can be applied to reconciliation bills, has been doing the bidding of the Democrats in ruling that major provisions of President Trump's "One Big, Beautiful Bill" are subject to the Byrd Rule and therefore are ineligible to be part of a reconciliation bill. That means that, according to MacDonough, those provisions have to go through the normal Senate process and need 60 votes for passage instead of a simple majority.

As if things weren't tense enough already, some experts think that Iran may have been closer to assembling at least a primitive nuclear warhead than previously thought. That is, to put it mildly, disconcerting. Israel's recent attacks on Iran have been mostly aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program along with un-aliving their senior military leaders, and if Israel had such intelligence, that may have led to the decision to attack.[snip] We should note that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, speaking on behalf of the U.S. intelligence community, is more skeptical.
