A new, highly infectious COVID-19 strain that has left to a spike in hospitalizations in China has now been detected in the US, including cases in New York City, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The new NB.1.81 variant was first detected in the US in late March and early April among international travelers arriving at airports in California, Washington State, Virginia and New York City, with additional cases reported in Ohio, Rhode Island and Hawaii. The CDC has said there are too few cases in the US to be properly tracked in the agency’s variant estimates,

The last two sentences in the article are likely why it's appearing in the paper now. The article also mentions it's not as severe as previous strains just likely more transmissible (e.g. the dramatic headline of 'highly infections").

Ok, so some people are getting the a new weaker but more contagious strain of Covid that is no more dangerous than a bad cold or the flu. As usual, some people are hospitalized and they are usually older people. Does that sound about right? Why is this different than any other year of illness and worthy of a new fear porn article to rile up the mask and vaccine crowd? Most people will just shrug their shoulders and think, oh, ok, whatever.....

Got the two Moderna shots at the urging of my kids ("You're old, dad, and the virus will kill you"). Got it anyway. Wish I hadn't now. It was like a short, bad flu. I know it killed a lot of people but those numbers got inflated for financial and political reasons. Think of the billions of dollars stuffed up a wild boars's a**., the small businesses that didn't survive, the masks that didn't work, the military losing troops, the businesses forcing the vaccine on employees, the Karens going nuts if you got too close to them. My wife got the booster against my advice and went in to life threatening aFib. This was a case of the cure being worse than the disease. I'm sorry. If this is some new bio-weapon devised by the Chicoms and it kills me, then so be it. No more vaccines for me. I'll be 83 in a month and, as my uncle used to say, "If the owl don't get you, the chicken hawk will".

The intended pattern is obvious. Trump gets elected president. China "accidentally" releases a deadly virus, developed with US aid and assistance. People die and in response, bad policies that curtail individual freedoms emerge, along with a 'big, beautiful vaccine' that is anything but a vaccine. More democrats are elected and a democrat is appointed president by a resurgent media and vote-by-mail election fraud. The U.S. economy is stretched to its breaking point...and more people die.

In Breaking the Law, my book on the lawfare against Donald Trump and his supporters, which was released this week, I called for Letitia “Tish” James to be prosecuted for conspiracy against rights. The Department of Justice announced on Friday that they are investigating James for violating Donald Trump’s civil rights when she engaged in what the DOJ calls the “deprivation of rights” in targeting Trump. Outstanding. Conspiracy against rights refers to a federal crime in the United States under 18 U.S.C. § 241, which states that it is illegal for people to “conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession,

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Saturday the planned summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, warning that any peace deal excluding Kyiv would lead to “dead solutions.” The Trump-Putin meeting, scheduled for Friday in Alaska, is seen as a potential breakthrough. Trump had previously agreed to meet with Putin even if the Russian leader would not meet with Zelenskyy, stoking fears Ukraine could be sidelined in efforts to stop the continent’s biggest conflict since World War II. In a statement posted to Telegram, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s territorial integrity, enshrined in the constitution, must be non-negotiable and emphasized that lasting peace must include Ukraine’s voice at the table.

As RedState reported, 51 Texas Democrats left the state on Sunday in an attempt to stop Republicans from passing a redistricting plan that would conceivably gain the GOP five congressional seats. Gov. With efforts underway by Administrator Lee Zeldin to reform the EPA’s reputation for junk science, it is worthwhile to look back at how science became politicized within that agency. The story begins over a half century ago during the counterculture revolution of the late ‘60s when environmentalism became popular. Paul Ehrlich, who is often credited with being the founding guru of the environmental movement, became an overnight celebrity with his 1968 best-seller, The Population Bomb. In it, he warned about the consequences of population growth and predicted imminent famine and resource depletion for the world.

Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling white adults in downtown Cincinnati. The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all. Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims. There were many disturbing aspects to the beat-downs. One, the violence broke out along racial and age fault lines. After the initial dispute, groups of black youths swarmed solitary older white bystanders to pound them. Two, the surrounding assembled group of black youths not only failed to intervene to restrain the bullies.

President Donald Trump signed a directive ordering the Pentagon to begin military operations against violent Latin American drug cartels that have been officially designated as foreign terrorist organizations. These cartels are responsible for flooding the United States with deadly drugs like fentanyl, fueling addiction, chaos, and record-setting violence. While past administrations looked the other way, President Trump is treating these narco-terrorists like the enemy combatants they are. According to the New York Times, President Trump’s order lays the groundwork for direct U.S. military action—both at sea and on foreign soil

For years, New York Attorney General Letitia James has fancied herself as the scourge of Donald Trump, chasing him with a vengeance to fulfill her campaign promise of getting Trump at any cost. Now, in a stunning turn of events, the Department of Justice has launched a grand jury investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James over her sham civil fraud case against Donald Trump. The partisan hit job that scored James a bloated $454 million judgment against Trump is now facing the heat of federal scrutiny, and the tables may finally be turning. Beyond the baseless 2022 civil fraud charges she leveled against him

A Biden-appointed federal judge issued a nationwide injunction on President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship order, arguing that the directive is likely to be found in violation of the Constitution. U.S. District Judge Deborah L. Boardman issued her opinion Thursday after agreeing to certify a class-action lawsuit from immigration rights group CASA. "The Court finds that the plaintiffs have shown they are entitled to a classwide preliminary injunction. The plaintiffs have established that they are likely to succeed on the merits of their constitutional claim because the Executive Order contradicts the plain language of the Fourteenth Amendment and conflicts with binding Supreme Court precedent,"

Just because former President Joe Biden's decline while in office has been confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt, thanks in part to ongoing investigations as well as conveniently timed books from reporters on the matter, doesn't mean questions about the mental acuity of those who are still serving in government have gone away or should go away. We've written before, for instance, about the periodic incoherency that has come from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), with interviews done and video clips shared on social media from time to time that are, as my RedState colleague Rusty Weiss described, the equivalent of "nightmare fuel"

On Wednesday, Penske Truck Rental tried to Bud Light itself by releasing a virtue-signaling statement criticizing the Department of Homeland Security for using one of its vehicles during an immigration enforcement operation. “Penske Truck Rental is aware of recent reports and videos regarding a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operation in Los Angeles,” the statement said. “Penske strictly prohibits the transportation of people in the cargo area of its vehicles under any circumstances. The company was not made aware that its trucks would be used in today’s operation and did not authorize this. Penske will reach out to DHS and reinforce its policy to avoid improper use of its vehicles

A 28-year-old man who was caught on video attacking two pro-life activists outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Baltimore was sentenced this week to a year of home detention and three years of probation. Baltimore Circuit Judge Yvette M. Bryant rebuffed prosecutors’ calls for a 10-year sentence against Patrick Brice, 28, after he was found guilty of two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in relation to the May 2023 incident, according to The Baltimore Banner.

Consider what has transpired in the past few weeks and ask yourself which political party is acting like petulant children. Earlier this year, the Justice Department found that four Texas districts drawn in 2021 are “unconstitutionally racially biased” because they violate the equal protection clause and “must be rectified immediately.” Hans von Spakovsky, an election law expert at the Heritage Foundation, notes that not only did those Texas districts violate the Constitution, but the boundaries they drew in 2021 were based on faulty 2020 Census data, which had missed half a million Texans, and didn’t reflect the influx of 2 million people over the past five years.

Google said it’s working to fix a bizarre glitch that has rattled users of the tech giant’s much-hyped Gemini chatbot — after it spit out self-loathing messages while struggling to answer questions. X user @DuncanHaldane first flagged a disturbing conversation with Gemini back in June – including one case where it declared “I quit” and moaned that it was unable to figure out a request. “I am clearly not capable of solving this problem. The code is cursed, the test is cursed, and I am a fool,” Gemini said. itself, and I’m started to get concerned about AI welfare.”
