Consider what has transpired in the past few weeks and ask yourself which political party is acting like petulant children. Earlier this year, the Justice Department found that four Texas districts drawn in 2021 are “unconstitutionally racially biased” because they violate the equal protection clause and “must be rectified immediately.” Hans von Spakovsky, an election law expert at the Heritage Foundation, notes that not only did those Texas districts violate the Constitution, but the boundaries they drew in 2021 were based on faulty 2020 Census data, which had missed half a million Texans, and didn’t reflect the influx of 2 million people over the past five years.

The census did not "accidentally miss" 500,000 Texans. Clearly that, like every other government entity, is corrupted to be spring-loaded in the Democrat position and needs to be cleaned out from top-to-bottem.

Texas 5 seats is just the beginning. If PDJT is able to get a new census done that excludes illegals, California's population (for apportionment purposes) will drop about 10% (roughly 4 million illegals in a state of 40 million), thus cutting 5 seats from California. Gov. Hairgel might gerrymander what's left, but the 5-seat advantage in Texas will not be undone. Other (right-leaning) sources suggest a 42 seat swing; not sure it will be that big, but will be very happy if it is...

"they suddenly find themselves on the losing end of political winds sweeping the nation"
And dems, being the criminals they are as shown by what they did when Trump won in 2016, immediately propose doing blatantly illegal things to "fix" their fall from grace. The Leftist pundit class supports them. They falsely accused Republicans of doing what they are so eagerly willing to attempt to do now. It's bad timing because the Left's mess from 2016 and onward is coming alive to bite them on the butt. More of the same will NOT play well in the courts or with the public. It's like they are playing Russian Roulette with a bullet in each chamber. Of course it's not clear that shooting themselves in the head will make much difference since they already seem to be brain dead. Take Tim Walz for example, please.

AS a condition of Texas joining the Union (USA), Texas reserves the right to break into 5 States. Just imaging 10 Senators from Texas!!

The crybaby demonrat socialist Marxists furor over the effort in Texas has instead drawn great attention to the outlandish congressional GERRYMANDERED districts in their home states to PREVENT repulbicans from every having fair contests to hold seats.
Some states do not even have ONE republican representative all the while President Trump winning their electors by a wide margin in "blue" states due to counting non citizen ILLEGAL ALIENS in the highly politicized Census. Before he left office, in 2020 the preliminary Census numbers showed the REAL possibility of the socialist states losing representatives and once quid pro JoeBamaBiteMe took over, it did not happen

In order to avoid this, each state should be divided with a line in the middle horizontally and vertically creating only 4 "districts". This will be fair and square for everyone avoiding redistricting shenanigans. Also, will eliminate crooks in congress - only 4 representatives per state.

The democrats really messed up this one...they were hoping for support from the people...but...instead they got laughed at...and now the ball is in their court...how will they play it....their Hail Mary pass didn't work and the republicans are standing firm with help from Governor Abbott and the FBI and Texas Rangers....and now these fools in Illinois and New York and Massachusetts are doomed without money or Teas credit cards and fines for each day they are missing...expensive lesson....

The Democrats are badly underwater and it’s getting worse. Their playbook consists of childish performative politics and outright hysteria. Even mildly moderate Congress members have been shouted down and threatened by the woke mob. Abbot has them cornered and they are reacting the way you would expect. 5 seats could clinch a continued Republican majority. He and Paxton have no intention of backing down. The redistricting is going to happen.

There is a fairly simple, geometric way to get rid of all gerrymandering forever. I just sent my plan to the Dallas Morning Star. Let's see if they publish it.

Sorry, #10, but I really don’t want Delaware, Hawaii and Rhode Island to have 4 reps each. Currently, Delaware has 1 and Rhode Island and Hawaii each have 2.

In my opinion, the way to break this foolishness is MONEY. The Texas Legislature should "determine" that each Congresspuke that showed up to session will find an envelope on their seat, and in it will be $2,000. At the end of each day, the ones who didn't show up and sign in will have the envelopes gathered up at the end of the day. They're prepared for "threats" and "warnings" and no doubt have lawyers standing by ready to assist, should the time come, but there's one thing they are NOT prepared for and that is "campaign grease" being handed out each session. They'll start showing up in drips and drabs until, ultimately, they're all there. With politicians, money always wins.

Realistically #6, Texas is roughly 54/46 Repiblican & splitting the state into 5 states might result in 1 secure Republican state, two solid Democrats in the blue cities and 2 up for grabs.
