Donald Trump spoke at the Libertarian Party Convention on Saturday night and, given the controversy over the invitation within the party, it wasn't surprising that many in the audience expressed their displeasure at the former president's presence.
Trump was trying to pry some Libertarian Party voters away from Robert Kennedy. who spoke earlier in the day to a sparse crowd.
Besides that, it took some courage to speak at a venue where he knew he would receive a mixed reception. Trump paid the crowd little mind, making his points and occasionally responding to the crowd. "You can keep going the way you have for the last long

He's fearless, speaking the common sense truth, and putting everything on the line.
I can't believe how one man can have his level of drive.
He is truly a historic figure.

This president showed up.
The other guy didn't.
By the end of his speech there were chants of "We want Trump! We want Trump!"

The 2-3% that the Libertarian Party traditionally sponges off has led to (bare) Democrat majorities in the Senate, and trouble in the House. Doctrinaire libertarians are strategic idiots, and should not vote.

The reporter refers to "bad optics," forgetting that DJT knows he get's triple the mainstream coverage in such instances. He's inoculated against the typical detrimental effects of such optics. All direct exposure to his words gains a few more points of quiet support from the undecideds and a fair number of lifelong Democrats.

Hard core libertarians often are folks who think they 'figured it all out' and yet they wind up have zero practical understanding of actual politics. All theory, no practical application. They'd rather be "right" and have absolutely NO impact on the direction of the country than 'compromise'.
Of course, like all generalizations, however true this is in the aggregate, there are going to be plenty of individual exceptions. At one time, libertarian seemed reasonable to me. But after a while you see how utterly impractical and ethics free they can be. No thanks. But some of them should be able to vote for Trump.
Like Rand Paul.....he's absolutely correct and level headed on most issues, and yet, on certain topics his libertarianism gets in the way and he is completely full of beans. I tend to agree with libertarians about 70% of the time, but the 30% is important stuff, very often. Too often they are atheists and have no real ethics, "everything is OK".

Libertarians remind of people that say they are spiritual and not religious, they want all the benefits and none of the rules.

I have more in common with Libertarians than anyone else. We have found out for certain the dems and reps are the same party and they sell out to the same interests. That doesn't leave much.

Those Libertarians are in for a rude surprise if Kennedy were to actually win. I suspect many in attendance were masquerading democrats.

Actual Libertarians are rarer than the Libertines who have flocked to the banner.

He's exactly right - the Libertarian party is obscure and voiceless on a national scale. He's giving them an opportunity, but they don't want it. Which is fine with me, because they're pretty much just "fiscally conservative" hippies at this point, anyway.

I do like the statement Angela McArdle gave in response to the White House: "You didn't even show up. You have zero credibility," she chastised them. Joe Biden and Donald Trump were both invited. One showed and the other didn't. The one that didn't show is the one that criticized the most. . .

FTA: Chase Oliver of Georgia, a Libertarian Party presidential candidate. was none too pleased at Trump's appearance. "The truth is, I don't like having a war criminal on this stage, I don't feel he deserves a spot on this stage," Oliver said.
Well, that sums it up. The ONLY president in the last 30 years who didn't participate in a war... is THE war criminal.

Really? What is a Libertarian? According to an online query I got this:
Libertarian: An advocate or supporter of a political philosophy that advocates only minimal state intervention in the free market and the private lives of citizens.
SO riddle me this BatLibertarian; Who do you vote for if the Democrats do everything you HATE and Republicans do the same only less, BUT Trump is Neither, he's a Republican just to have a party affiliation to get votes in a totally controlled/RIGGED system. Actually Trump IS THE TRUE Libertarian. Gotta wonder what they really want. It's on a silver platter with Trump, and the best advice is to TAKE IT and VOTE TRUMP!

Despite their delusions, the liberal elites aren't the smartest people in the room, it's the libertarians. You don't even have to ask them, they'll tell you.

I watched the whole speech and while there were a few jeers now and again there were many more cheers. He was mostly well received I thought. And I am not a fan of his style but like his results.
And he showed up!

I have met several libertarians in my years. Many were just cranks. The one I had been friends with was just strongly self-opinionated.

The libertarians have an ideology that only ever gets implemented half way.
Legalize drugs - that's the easy part. But they say they will not give any government benefits to people who mess up with the drugs except for treatment - that's the hard part. If you ask them will they cut off welfare to drug users they say they will. That's another hard part.
Allow goods and services to be made where it is cheapest. Easy part. Don't allow it in countries where the people are treated like slaves. Don't allow it to be made in countries where children are used. That's the hard part.
And then they claim in their theory that the money saved will be used to invest in other products which will employ the people here the got unemployed by the outsourcing. But instead that money is used to make other things out of the country.
Every ideological point made by the libertarians sounds great until you realize it can only ever be implemented halfway.

Libertarians are much like leftists. The view themselves as intellectually superior therefore, their votes only go to those they deem worthy of their intellectual brilliance. Kat from Gutfeld is like this. She states she only votes for third party candidates because she's a libertarian.

Libertarians used to be for less government and less taxes.
They have evolved into being pro-drugs and woke.
They got infiltrated like every other group.
