Pope Francis congratulated California governor Gavin Newsom for his refusal to carry out the death penalty and for California’s leadership in fighting climate change, the governor’s office reported. (snip) “The intentional killing of another person is wrong and as Governor, I will not oversee the execution of any individual,” said Governor Newsom. (snip) Following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, Governor Newsom launched a crusade to defend the right to abortion, which the Catholic Church considers to be murder.

Moratorium on the death penalty, which as a pro-life Catholic, I think is the right thing, but then demands abortion up to the time of birth for the innocent unborn. Make it make sense.

Nothing about whether the Pope lauded Governor Gruesom for unilaterally legalizing same-sex "marriage". But I'm pretty sure Francis didn't laud Gavin for cheating on his wife with the wife of his best friend..

The Catholic Church has clearly lost any connection to true Christianity. It is not just this secular Marxist Pope, but also the Cardinals who elected him. Obviously they agree.

While I've believed there are certain crimes that are of horrific nature that deserve the ultimate punishment of death, I can not support the death penalty any longer due to far too many convicted of crimes that have been proven innocent but were sentenced to death. If I were the GOP and President Trump, I would start by ramping up the DNA testing capabilities of this country so any/all DNA available can be tested as quickly as possible to ensure they've actually convicted the right person(s). After all, he specifically can relate to many who've been targeted and had the law misapplied to them. Particularly those in the inner-cities who've been complaining about unjust searches, and miscarriage of justice. But, also those in many rural communities where there are fewer resources but someone wants the crime solved ASAP so they round up someone just to get it off the front pages.

Yeah, once you run through the "abortion to the.moment of birth" gauntlet in California, murderers pretty well have it made "for life" in the state. And chances are, you won't get caught unless you left way too much evidence behind. But Pope Franky the Commie will give them a pass on the abortion part. And plans to name St. Nancy of Pelosi as the patronage saint of the state.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is looking to push equity requirements on hospitals providing kidney transplants, according to a recent proposal. The proposal, announced May 8, will help President Joe Biden’s administration’s plan to address “racial bias” when it came to wait times and “profiteering and inequity” by transplant hospitals, Secretary Xavier Becerra said in the press release. (snip) “The organ transplant industry, like every other part of society, is not immune to racial inequities,” Becerra said in the press release.

When I woke one recent morning to severe pain from a bout of kidney stones, I knew I had an excruciating day ahead of me. I didn’t realize how excruciating until I arrived at George Washington University Hospital’s emergency room where one of the ER’s resident physicians greeted me wearing a pin: “Ask Me About My Pronouns.” The remainder of my morning became a real-life demonstration of how woke physicians prioritize ideology over patient care. The California Senate passed a bill that would ban parental notification for gender changes in public TK-12 and provide more resources to increase parental support of LGBTQ pupils. While parents broadly support disclosure rules and have approved them in many school districts, state leaders, including the attorney general — who has supported lawsuits against districts with disclosure rules — say these efforts harm transgender children. In the past year, school districts across California have adopted measures requiring parents to be notified if their children request to officially change their pronouns, go by a different name, or use facilities or school programs for children of the opposite gender.

Third parties have rarely been competitive in U.S. presidential elections and the Libertarian candidate four years ago won 1% of the vote. But the party’s decision is getting more attention this year due to the rematch between Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden, which could hinge again on small vote margins in a handful of contested states. “We did it! I am officially the presidential nominee,” Oliver posted Sunday on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s time to unify and move forward for liberty.”
