Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg struggled Sunday on CBS’ Face the Nation to explain why the Biden administration has only manged to build “seven or eight” electric vehicle (EV) charging stations thus far.
As Breitbart News has noted, while the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 allocated $7.5 billion for EV stations, as part of building a national EV charging infrastructure, no EV charging stations had been built by the end of 2023.
Only about seven or eight had been built under the program by April — while the fossil fuel industry has been cashing in by lobbying to have the stations built at existing gas stations.

Because they are too busy stealing the money to waste any of it on actually building any charging stations.

Buttigieg: "The reason that we’re investing federal dollars is to fill in some of the gaps in areas where it is not yet profitable"
Sound familiar? We're throwing money at it where it's not profitable. Maybe it needs MORE tax money

But the program's DEi and LGBTWXYZ have been fully funded and operational. Office space has been contracted, the tech support and furnishings obtained, and the full-time massuse is completely booked through November.

It's not surprising that the Buttster has disappeared from contention as a national player. The Democrats may be evil leftist traitors, but unlike the GOP, they are not stupid. They saw what we saw in this effeminate, incompetent bozo a long time ago.

Difference between amateurs and professionals. Biden's people play checkers, and Trump's people play chess. Biden's people think one step ahead, and Trump's - six or seven; they cover all their bases and get the job done.

Not surprised that yet another "infrastructure" program was a complete failure.
What did surprise me was that CBS called them on it, and did not let them get away with a BS answer.

I've never thought Pete ever had the qualifications to even pick up feces in a dog park. He is the epitome of a DEI hire.

I passed by a new EV charging area recently in Baton Rouge. Not one car was there.

It makes sense for the gas station owners to lobby for charging stations. That move could save their jobs. It's even possible that many of these stations would start offering full meals like many European stations do. Countless apps locate where the gas stations are and most are situated in convenient and practical locations for travelers. Any move to avoid placing chargers in gas stations would be purely vindictive.

A friend's daughter is making a nice living flying somewhere every Monday thru Thursday supposedly to lay the groundwork for EV's. A nice job if you can get it, I guess.

What Pete casually calls ‘utility work’ means the country doesn’t have the power infrastructure to support this. They all knew this going in, but no one turns down free taxpayer money.

OK, I don't make Pete's salary, but I can explain it: it's a government boondoggle. Everything costs 10x market value, there is much graft, and no on really knows what they are doing.

It's not just the EV industry that is failing, the entire green program is falling apart. Windmills are toppling and breaking, solar panels are part of a nationwide scam and are much more expensive than getting electricity the old fashioned way, through a wire. People still prefer Asian and European cars although the Euros are selling based on their names and previous reputations. EVs simply can't perform as well as our "dinosaurs" and won't for a long time to come. Nuclear power is currently the only method that can adequately power this country into the next century but leftist activists....

The government is trying to find DEI electricians. But I'd hate to use a charging station wired by someone with a perpetual chip on their shoulder and axe to grind.

They were caught having not built a single charging station at the end of the year, and quickly started throwing them together during the first four months of this year so that they could say we built charging stations with that money during the election year.

Elon Musk got $17million of that money, through half a dozen state contracts, he has built 47 charging stations with it so far, all with MORE charging ports and parking spaces than any other sites.
AND built another 20,000 charging stations with his OWN money.
AND even though he has been shunned by Bidens Govt teams, excluded from other grants, loans and even meetings, including those agencies that set "Standards" for charging systems and even the charging plug designs...ALL of the Major Car manufacturers have recently abandoned THEIR OWN plug design(negotiated/mandated with the Biden Govt) and instead are all adopting the Tesla charge port.

Remember when those newfangled horseless carriages first came out and the government spent billions of dollars building gas stations along every road?
Yeah, me neither.
