On the outskirts of the Chinese city of Hangzhou, a small dilapidated temple overlooks a graveyard of sorts: a series of fields where hundreds upon hundreds of electric cars have been abandoned among weeds and garbage. Similar pools of unwanted battery-powered vehicles have sprouted up in at least half a dozen cities across China, though a few have been cleaned up. In Hangzhou, some cars have been left for so long that plants are sprouting from their trunks. Others were discarded in such a hurry that fluffy toys still sit on their dashboards. The Bike-Share Oversupply in China: Huge
Piles of Abandoned and Broken Bicycles

Last year, bike sharing took off in China, with dozens of bike-share companies quickly flooding city streets with millions of brightly colored rental bicycles. However, the rapid growth vastly outpaced immediate demand and overwhelmed Chinese cities, where infrastructure and regulations were not prepared to handle a sudden flood of millions of shared bicycles. Riders would park bikes anywhere, or just abandon them, resulting in bicycles piling up and blocking already-crowded streets and pathways. As cities impounded derelict bikes by the thousands, they moved quickly to cap growth and regulate the industry. Vast piles of impounded, abandoned, and broken bicycles have become a familiar sight in many big cities.

Newly released data has shifted the path of totality of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, resulting in some Texas locations no longer having a front-row seat to total darkness, while other locations in the Lone Star State slipping into totality. The new calculations, which are based on the latest figure for the Sun's radius, come a week before the cosmic event is set to take place. They were recently published by John Irwin, an expert in eclipse calculations, and reported by Forbes.

On Tuesday morning, the Texas National Guard defied the Biden regime and again took control of the El Paso border, installing concertina wire (razor wire) and a new anti-climb fence. The new security measures are in place to prevent illegals from rioting and tearing apart the previous razor wire barrier as they did on March 21st. Fox News Channel’s Matt Finn obtained exclusive access to the new barrier, which can be viewed below. Finn notes it bears similarities to another wall in Eagle Pass.

More than a quarter of voters say they'll likely vote for a third-party presidential candidate in November, and younger Americans are especially keen on the idea, a poll shows. Fully 28 percent of voters are considering a vote that steers away from Democratic President Joe Biden or his Republican rival Donald Trump, a Rasmussen Reports survey shows. But that shoots up to 47 percent for voters aged under 40.Across all age groups, that would amount to 43 million voters willing to cross the box of a third-party candidate, based on the turnout in 2020.

Lou Conter, the last living survivor of the USS Arizona battleship that exploded and sank during the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, has died. He was 102. Conter passed away on Monday at his home in Grass Valley, California, following congestive heart failure, his daughter, Louann Daley said, adding she was beside him along with two of her brothers, James and Jeff. The Arizona lost 1,177 sailors and Marines in the 1941 attack that launched the United States into World War II. The battleship's dead account for nearly half of those killed in the attack. Conter was a quartermaster, standing on the main deck of the Arizona as Japanese planes flew overhead.

Mason excelled academically and athletically, including playing college football. He loves reading and history. Mason is proud of his Cuban roots and immigrant maternal grandparents, who were honored to become US Citizens. Mason was held without bond by the Biden administration. And he is unable to support his 4-year-old son, whom he had a month before he was arrested. Mason pleaded guilty to one count of interfering with an officer.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat turned independent running for president in 2024 as a third party candidate, said the argument can be made President Joe Biden is a “much worse threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump. Kennedy made the remark during an appearance on CNN’s Outfront with Erin Burnett, who asked, “A moment ago, you said you essentially see Trump and Biden as the same, different issues, but do you really believe that?” “When people talk about the threats of democracy that Trump poses, do you really think that is as equal — equal to Biden?” she pressed.

Give credit where due. Kathleen Parker likely angered most of her paper's readership by declaring the obvious, and indicting her own employer in the process. Christine Blasey Ford got her second round of media adulation last month for publishing her memoir of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation she tried to derail. Parker wonders when the media will finally get around to discussing the book written by one of the victims of the unsubstantiated allegations, Mark Judge -- and when the media will finally recognize Blasey Ford's motives: Ford, you’ll recall, is the California psychologist with two front doors in her house who, in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee

Claims made by global consulting firm McKinsey that diversity, equity and inclusion policies (DEI) increase a company’s profitability don’t hold water, according to a Monday report from Econ Journal Watch (EJW). McKinsey published several studies in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2023 — often titled along the lines of “Diversity Matters,” or “Diversity Wins” — claiming that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between a company’s financial performance and the percentage of racial and ethnic diversity among its executives, according to EJW. EJW could not produce such findings when conducting its own version of such a study, calling into question the quality of McKinsey’s methods

US home insurance rates will hit a record high this year, according to grim new forecasts. The typical annual premium will rise to $2,522 by the end of 2024, according to insurance comparison platform Insurify - up 6 percent on a year before. This projected increase for 2024 comes on the back of a 20 percent hike over the last two years. This has largely been driven by escalating natural disasters, insurers pulling out of certain areas - which cuts down on competition - and higher fees for home repairs. Soaring costs mean home insurance is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many Americans - with many opting to forego

For this we should all be thankful. When a climate activist challenged him on that September day about his connections to the co-founder of a liquified natural gas company, Biden, as he has done throughout his career of “public service,” became Joe the Clown. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party (AKP) suffered their worst defeat in more than 20 years in local elections, losing the mayoralties of both Istanbul and Ankara to opposition candidates. The opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) narrowly won the overall popular vote for the first time in decades, elevating Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu to become Erdogan’s major rival for national influence. The count as of Monday morning gave CHP 37 percent of the popular vote versus 36 percent for AKP. Of all of the legal cases currently being piled up against Donald Trump in the Democrats' ongoing lawfare efforts against him, the one I've probably found the most troubling is the allegation of mishandling classified documents. It's a fairly serious charge and it's one of the few cases against him that does at least appear to involve the possibility of an actual crime being committed (more on that in a moment) and physical evidence to support the claim. It has thus far sounded as if the court was taking it seriously as well. But now, a possible ray of hope has emerged for the former president.

All this does is [say] we’re going to classify these types of food sources as pharmaceuticals, so if you want to consume them you would go to your doctor and get a prescription.”
