Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) is fighting for his political life, and he knows it. The embattled New Jersey Democrat was slapped with a superseding indictment where he allegedly helped the Qatari government in return for lavish gifts. Menendez is already facing corruption charges and acting as a foreign agent vis-à-vis his relationship with Egyptian officials. When federal agents raided his home last September, over $400,000 were stuffed in various items of clothing, along with gold bars, which appears to be a sticking point with a lot of his Democratic colleagues. The Garden State liberal has faced corruption charges before, thus far avoiding conviction.

This Tuesday, New Hampshire will hold its quadrennial first-in-the-nation primary. I am sorry to say, I have come to know something of the seamier side of this small state, writing these past years about a great legal injustice that has occurred up there. This is something most Granite Staters don’t like to think about: the Fr. Gordon MacRae frame-up.
Thanks to the state’s tiny, inbred legal and law enforcement community, the matter was kept quiet for years. But the truth is inevitably coming out, especially regarding the “hero detective” who doesn't look so good now.

Charlamagne Tha God (the name he goes by) hosts the nation's top radio program with black audiences, and far from hearing white supremacy talk regarding the border issue, is hearing black voices that have had it up to here with open borders. According to Fox Digital:

If I believe myself to be a fork, must society be made to agree? Should I be encouraged to hang out near salad bars with the expectation that diners will trust me with their food? Or worse, if someone has the nerve to call me a spoon, will the government step in to punish that “bigot” for mis-utensiling me?
Of course not. Then why should a man in makeup and a dress be given extra legal rights to sue anyone who sees through his delusions?
There’s a new COVID variant that China has been tweaking in the lab, and it’s unbelievable. It was tested on mice and had a 100 percent mortality rate. Dubbed the ‘brain virus,' Chinese scientists are paving the way for another global pandemic if this escapes their labs again. The study involved a “cousin” strain of the coronavirus, which was mutated and then administered to humanized mice; all died within eight days. The study does not say how this could impact humans, but the research has been heavily criticized as pointless, dangerous, and veering into absolute madness (via NY Post):

We should dispense with the tired narrative that four conscientious state and federal prosecutors—independently and without contact with the Biden White House or the radical Democrats in Congress—all came to the same disinterested conclusions that Donald Trump should be indicted for various crimes and put on trial during the campaign season of 2024.
The prosecutors began accelerating their indictments only once Trump started to lead incumbent Joe Biden by sizable margins in head-to-head polls. Moreover, had Trump not run for the presidency, or had he been of the same party as most of the four prosecutors, he would have never been indicted by any of them.

Mother Nature will be a factor in this weekend’s football games. So I’m reminded of the one they called “The Ice Bowl.”
Our family arrived in the U.S. from Cuba in September 1964. We were relocated to Wisconsin by a church, and I found myself falling in love with the Packers. The Braves moved to Atlanta in 1965, and most of my friends in school were furious with the team. So Lombardi’s Packers were the only local team around. (I did love the 1965 A.L. champion Minnesota Twins because they had four great Cuban players, but that’s for another post.)

In a rare move, Democrat Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is receiving praise from Republicans after criticizing his own party’s stance on several issues.
Fetterman has slammed the Democratic Party’s progressive “Squad” who refuse to condemn the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel. He questioned why the United States hasn’t yet destroyed Hamas, adding that every terrorist killed is "one more step" toward peace. The Democrat has stood by his pro-Israel stance, angering members of his party who believe more should be done to help Gaza despite Hamas raping and heinously killing innocent Israelis.

Airhead CNN personality Jim Acosta made a name for himself quoting the “Give us your tired, your poor” lines like they were legally binding and not just part of an old fundraising pitch to the public to raise money to build the statue’s base. These Democrats were outraged any government impediments would be put in place to hinder the endless flow of illegal aliens into the country. Now that they’re getting a big dose of their own medicine, those Democrats are singing a different tune.

The key word is “successful.” Beyond the important discussions about the role of punishment, “paying a debt to society,” psychological, moral, or spiritual redemption, and “doing the time” in common parlance, is the nature of the complex process, components, or atmosphere of a criminal’s successful rehabilitation.
