The intrigue over who Donald Trump will pick to be his vice president on the 2024 Republican ticket he's presumed to be leading is growing. A recent report placed Rep. Elise Stefanik, a moderate House member from New York, near the top of the list. Then there's Nikki Haley, who has reportedly been under consideration for a while, even as she remains in the primary race. On that front, when the Trump campaign had a chance to put the Nikki Haley issue to bed once and for all, they chose not to, instead only ruling out Vivek Ramaswamy.
What that says is that the former president's closest advisors

She would be a female version of Mike Pence. In the end, or well before, she would be working to undermine Trump.

So, basically, Bonchie is saying that Trump supporters are dumb and will think whatever they are told to. Got it.
Yeah, I strongly disagree. And while I will continue to support Trump, if he chose Haley (which I do NOT believe he will), I don't believe she'll be embraced by MAGA just because Trump says so. In fact, for all the "diverse voters" she might bring in, I think she might push others away. They'll just sit it out. Because Haley would ultimately be a weak link in the conservative agenda, giving us a repeat of the obstacles encountered the last time Trump was in office. And that agenda is why people want Trump back in office.

I think this article is Megyn's cry for attention. Trump is well aware that Haley does not have his best interests at heart. Is Haley off the table? I Don't think that she was ever on the table to begin with. That whole idea was just some leftist's wet dream.

I agree # 3. This is Kelly wanting attention. She's smart enough to know better. Trump is too. Kelly does like attention, that's for sure.

Reagan picked Bush to appease the deep state too. We were not better off for that choice.

Trump already gave Haley the "Romney" treatment.
He had dinner with her and that was it.
Look for him to pick a political veteran who has already stood by him.
Like Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

If Trump choses Haley, I will assume his judgement has not improved since he chose Wray and Barr.

Trump has said that he has picked his VP and it ISN'T anyone running for the nomination. So it ain't Trikki Nikki.

Nonsense. The Trump campaign wants Nimarata to remain in the primary race so she can siphon votes from DeSantis and give both of them a pathetically low percentage. I really like Stefanik. MTG would also be a strong choice.

I'm not happy about it, but I think Megyn is correct in her reasoning. Bonchie seems to think so, too. If Trump wants to draw in Independents and centrist dems, people like MTG and Kari Lake are way too controversial.

The main criterion for a VP before all others is don't do what Garfield did. Garfield chose Chester Arthur, aiming at unity, but instead placing in the line of succession right behind himself, someone whose supporters preferred him to Garfield to such an extent that, well, you can read up on what happened to Garfield. Somebody wanted Chester Arthur's policies not Garfield's. Drilled down as it were through the line of succession to get the one he wanted. Haley would TFA Trump in a heartbeat and if she did not, the people who hate Trump often like her and would find a way to get her instead.

Note for Megyn: We didn’t ‘convince ourselves’ that Haley does not stand for the same things we do. Haley convinced us with her own words. So stop being a condescending jerk. Trump loves media drama and they never fail to take the bait.

I think #3 and 4 are right and I am sure Megyn is laughing at the stir her little bomb threw into our camp. She is no insider to Trump campaign news. I am not worried about Nimrata getting near the VP job.

She would be an enemy on the inside, working tirelessly to undermine Trump.
Sara Huckabee Sanders would be a far better choice.

My hunch is the same as #6, I think it will be Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
She's the current governor of Arkansas, so has the executive credentials, comes from a political family, and would help shore up support. And, people like her.

This is illogical. Nikki brings nothing to the ticket. The oligarchs of the donor class will not support Trump, nor will white, female college graduates. We know she lied about not running against Trump. Why would he overlook that to put her a heartbeat away from being President? She's running an outmoded Karl Rove style campaign strategery and seems to be clueless as to what issues are motivating voters. There are much better choices.
