Let me make it clear from the beginning that I think Nikki Haley (R-Boeing) is a vapid establishment automaton who is basically the Kamala Harris of the Republican Party, a Bushesque mediocrity who represents a dying ideology that peaked in 2005, and good riddance to it. She’s the worst – self-righteous, annoying, always spewing grrrl-power nonsense and hack clichés salvaged from the back catalog of the Weekly Standard. She’s a disaster on every level, one of those people who is both very aggressive and always wrong, the worst possible combination. I recoiled in horror at the headline.....and was immediately disappointed in Mr. Schlichter, who I consider to be 'smart than this'. Then, I read the commentary. And, as bizarre as it sounds (I KNOW!!) I am significantly persuaded. Schlichter says it best: "What does she bring to the table? Well, stupid people. There are a lot of people out there who think she’s a great politician and a great choice. I’m not one of them. If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re not one of them, but they are out there. Many don’t like Joe Biden, and many don’t like Donald Trump, but adding her to the ticket can win them over to the GOP. Winning the election is about addition, not subtraction." Geez, I think he might be right. Bring on the airheads to vote for the GOP, that's a LOT of people!

I’ve changed my mind about choosing a woman for VP due to the current situation in the world. I think there are capable women, but even the strongest of them would not command the fear and respect in that position from the kind of enemies we are facing. Trump needs a man who has also been through the fire and has come out stronger, wiser, more knowledgeable and determined to defeat this evil. The figurehead should be two unambiguously strong and powerful men who recognize the source of the kind of power needed to defeat it. They don’t have to be perfect, but they must have utmost respect for the One Who is perfect, just as those flawed leaders throughout Scripture did.

If there's anyone who can get me to come back to Lucianne and comment, it's a Kurt Schlichter column. Kurt is absolutely right on here. Talk out of both sides of your mouth Nikki would definitely bring in lots of stupid women to help Trump win. Kari Lake would not because she is too much like Trump in telling it like it is and that is not enough with the way the Democrats always seem to "win." Trump has certainly pleased his base, but hasn't added to it, unless people are even more desperate before the election and want someone who can finally govern and get America back on track after the disaster called the Biden administration.

I was working up a good case of exploding head until I finished the headline and saw that Schlichter was the writer. He is obviously tongue-in-cheek here and knows that will not happen. If a woman is wanted as a VP, Trump has at least six good choices but his thoughts along that line should also include 2028 and who will be running for president to carry on his good work. Hillary also thought that she could play the female card but there weren't enough stupid women in the country and her qualifications to claim femaleness are razor thin. Trump has learned well from that Indiana Idiot that the choice of VP is important and he will choose somebody extra special this time around. There are actually more women than men in the republican arena that would fill the billet so his choice will be another interesting point for 2024. MAGA

This was her opportunity and she took it, falsely maligning Trump in the process. The blowback was so intense, that she shut things down immediately, and w/out a peep. Kurt misses the greatest problem with this horrible idea. The purpose of the Vice President is, like with Harry Truman, to provide a succession in the office of the Presidency in the event of the death of the president. If Trump were to choose Nikki Haley for VP, then after taking office Trump's second term would be truncated just like JFK's presidency. Trump needs a VP who will put American interests first, not another RINO.

If Joe Biden is unfit to stand trial,

If Joe Biden is unfit to stand trial, he’s unfit to be president. Special counsel Robert Hur’s nearly 400-page report is full of damning evidence of Biden’s carelessness with vital national-security secrets. And his defense of Biden is that the man is just too old and forgetful to be held responsible for his actions. Consider Biden’s storage of Afghan war secrets in his Delaware home, including a classified handwritten memo he wrote to President Barack Obama in 2009 that Biden kept because he thought it would vindicate his opposition to sending more troops.

The worst kept secret in Washington is the President’s accelerating cognitive decline. Yet, when special counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s mishandling of classified documents made note of this obvious fact, the White House responded with outrage. Hur opted not to bring charges against him for several reasons, including how a jury trial might play out: “Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” This led to a hastily called news conference, during which a semi-coherent Biden shouted at reporters as if they were attempting to take away his car keys.

Former President Trump is all but certain to win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and he will defeat President Biden in November — if the voters are allowed to decide the outcome. Though a number of polls show Trump leading in most if not all of the seven states that will be truly competitive this year, only Georgia and North Carolina have enacted meaningful election integrity legislation since the last presidential contest. The remaining five have doggedly refused to adopt serious reforms that will ensure fair and honest elections. Not coincidentally, they include states that Biden won in 2020 by tiny margins after protracted post-election vote counting.

It’s instructive to observe where Americans are moving, and where they are leaving. Such comparisons are particularly revealing when made during, or immediately following, a crisis, such as the recent Covid-19 pandemic. States dealt with that crisis quite differently. Movement statistics from recent years help to establish which of the 50 “laboratories of democracy” responded best to the pandemic. The Census Bureau publishes annual data on each state’s net domestic migration—that is, how many U.S. residents have moved to a given state, minus the number who moved from that state to elsewhere in the U.S.

During President Biden’s inaugural address, he used the word “unity” at least a dozen times. He told us, “Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this: Bringing America together. Uniting our people.” Three years later, his irresponsible policies and incendiary rhetoric have rendered the nation more divided than at any time in recent memory. Nowhere is this more evident than at the southern border where Biden has created a humanitarian crisis by ignoring federal immigration law and suing the state of Texas for exercising its constitutional right to defend itself from what its governor accurately describes as a foreign invasion.

The commentariat has made much of the “diploma divide” and the purported propensity of college graduates to vote for Democrats. Most of their disquisitions suggest that Republicans are by definition intellectually stunted. Ironically, serious analyses of voter behavior suggest the divide is shrinking. A Pew Research analysis of the last two midterms shows the Democrat-Republican share of college educated voters had narrowed to 52-47, a far smaller gap than in 2018. More evidence that a shift is underway involves former President Trump’s recent Iowa caucus victory, in which he dramatically outperformed his 2016 showing among college educated voters.

In late 2022, when asked by reporters about the probability that former President Trump would run for a second term, President Biden pledged to make sure “he does not become president again.” This was largely ignored at the time because Trump had not yet been bombarded with the brazenly partisan prosecutions that he is now fending off. In hindsight, it is clear that Biden was referring to a carefully planned lawfare campaign coordinated by the White House. The only elected incumbent ever denied the nomination of his party for reelection was President Franklin Pierce, and that occurred long before the modern primary system reduced party conventions to coronation ceremonies. New York City could soon ban Tide PODS and other laundry-detergent packs under the latest “green” push from lawmakers. The “Pods are Plastic Bill,” introduced by City Councilman James Gennaro last week, would make it illegal to sell any pods and laundry sheets if they’re made with polyvinyl alcohol. Fines for selling the pods would start at $400, double for a second violation and top off at $1,200 for flouting the rules more than twice, if the bill becomes law. The bill would also require education and outreach to businesses on the ban for the first year. The law wouldn’t take effect until Jan. 1, 2026, if passed.
