DDemocrat Tom Suozzi captured a victory in the special election for New York's Third congressional district to replace serial fabulist and former Rep. George Santos.
The Associated Press projected that Suozzi triumphed over Republican Mazi Pilip with 52 percent of the total vote counted.
'This race was fought amidst a closely divided electorate, much like our whole country. This race was centered on immigration and the economy, much like the issues all across our country,' Suozzi said speaking to a crowd of supporters Tuesday night on Long Island. 'We won this race because we addressed the issues and we found a way to bind our divisions.'

it was a really great idea to oust George Santos ..... wasn't it?
- he was doing all for the party while he was there and
- had only done what the demcommies do on a regular character profile analysis
- who the Hell is doing the thinking for the repubs in that place .... anyway?

The Party of Stupid, strikes again. When was the last time you saw Democrats kick one of their own out? GOP's new motto: ""Let's shoot ourselves in the foot, reload and shoot the other one."

Long Island? Another demonrat bastion. Someone should recount all the ballots submitted by mail. I'm sure some fraud was involved. A test case, you know.

This is New York so the results were not unexpected, they began voting nine days before the election. I think it was worth the seat to get rid of Santos. We need to focus on the RINOs who will vote with the democrats and the majority lead will be comfortable.

"Results are a strong sign for Democrats heading into the 2024 elections come November when they will try reclaim the House"
More like the results are a strong sign the Democrat election fraud machine is still working as intended, with the current state of affairs this race should have been a landslide for Republican Mazi Pilip.
What this tells the world is they have every intention of stealing the House and keeping control of the Senate in 2024 to tie Trumps hands should he win.

I could have written that headline right after they kicked out Santos. The dems will steal the House in the next election. Heck, they might even get it before 2024 voting starts. Name your democrat in Congress and they're probably done ten times as much shady stuff, even pure evil as Santos. Here's why Pubs ousted Santos, according to the article:
"Serial liar Santos was voted out of Congress after serving just 11 months in office following an ethics report revealing he improperly diverted campaign contributions to pay for Botox treatments, Hermes bags, OnlyFans and cash withdrawals at a casino."

And yet, Omar is still there spewing her anti-American hate. Look if we are going to have some kind of moral purity standard, it needs to apply to everyone. I know we must be better than the democrats but Republicans will swallow a camel and get choked on a gnat. Just stop it. The only focus they should have is getting this country out of the hands of the Marxist democrats. Someone needs to have a come to Jesus meeting with the House and Senate Republicans and set them straight. We the people are fed up of their feckless approach to our present situation. We are tired of losing to the most corrupt and evil party on the planet and we expect our representatives to get in the fight and get serious about defeating this illegitimate and lawless party.

When will Republicans learn to do what Democrats do. Vote absentee or vote early. Democrats did this and it paid off when a snow storm hit Long Island on election day making roads bad and officials say stay off the roads. Republicans tend to vote in person. This backfired on Tuesday resulting in a loss. Now Mazi Pilip can try again in November and hopefully win the seat back then.

What's happening with Senator Robert Menendez? Still holding his Senate seat? Think of several hundred thousand dollars in cash, and how about all those gold bars sewn into his jackets, gifts from the Egyptians. No problem. Good man. Crooked wife too? That's ok. It's the Republicans' fault, going after such an obviously fine and innocent man.

Another 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' Rebublican movie moment. Instead of doing what is best for the nation, Rebublicans find a way to do what is best for the Democrats. I will give the Rebublicans credit for one thing. It has been clear to me during my entire life that Rebublicans have never, ever, cared about power. Just pleasing the Democrats. At least they are true to their core principle.

The Stupid Party should be looking for a viable candidate for Mayor of NYC. (Not that moron the unelectable Sliwa.). But instead they are dithering and Adams will sail into a second destructive term.

Why are the republicans so blanking stupid? Santos didn’t do anything that Pedo Joe Biden hasn’t been doing for more than 50 years. They should have made that point and let him keep his seat. Not to mention that Menendez is STILL sitting in the senate.
It’s times like these that I wonder why I bother to vote at all.

It's not okay to excuse a republican for doing something wrong just because the democrats do it. Should we cheat in elections and use campaign funds for everything from vacations to hookers like they do? It's way too late at this point to expect elected officials to be moral and honest but one can still hope in opposition to reality. I'm done with it. My vote for Donald Trump will be my last vote ever because there will not be another like him in my lifetime.

Haley blamed Trump for this loss! Nikki --- you are just proving to everyone that you are not ready for prime time. What will really count is your own home state voting this coming Tuesday. When you get slaughtered, what will you blame that on, as the former Governor?
As a former resident of Queens, let me tell everyone what really happened here.
All the Congressional Districts in NY state were re-mapped by the heavily controlled Democrat State Assembly to benefit themselves. Despite a temporary restraining order (that lapsed), they managed to get this Nassau County #3 congressional district stretched over into the borough of Queens --- which is part of NYC. The #3 CD now includes Glen Oaks (21% black and 28% Hispanic) and Queens Village (51% black and 19% Hispanic). Souzzi won that NYC section of his district by 65%. If you cut out the NYC part for BOTH sides, she actually beats him on the Nassau side and wins by quite a bit.
Her other problem was --- on bad advice --- she wouldn't ask for Trump's endorsement. Finally, on Sunday she stated: "It would be really nice if he endorsed me". Too little, too late.
The Dems got out their union flunkies in the early voting from 10 days ago and then the 8 to 10 inches of snow on election day didn't help her cause.
Souzzi has to run again this November so let's see if the Republicans can find a non-RINO by then!

Seems doubtful Pilip was a good candidate. Per Laura Loomer, who (whatever else anyone thinks of her) is a pro opposition researcher, Pilip is an “active registered Democrat.”
See Loomer’s X (Twitter) postings on and about Feb. 3 where she lays out her findings.
So the Republicans ousted a reliable House vote (and Trump supporter) in George Santos, to replace him with a not-so-reliable addition to the House caucus and someone not supportive of Trump. Isn’t that lovely?
Is this another exhibit in the Hall of Shame of the Stoopid Party? Or should we smell a rat maneuver here (as in DemocRAT), and a fairly brazen one at that? Pilip the registered Democrat was unlikely to be a reliable supporter of the America First agenda, which is bad enough; but her apparent support from the RNC and the state party is worse, and worrying in its implications for this year’s elections at every level. The objective of our RINO leadership on both national and state levels seems to be to bar the door to Trump and to candidates supportive of him.

this was a short term "Just until November" election, when there will be another...and the border lines of the district will likely be altered before that one.
If Mazi had won? It would have surely been redrawn, gerrymandered, so she would lose in Nov..
Now that Scuzzi won, perhaps the district will be left as-is...or only slightly altered, and the November battlespace fully defined.

On the "Santos Issue", that district knew him(or thought they did), they elected him, it should have been left to THEM, if THEY wanted to do a recall, or impeach, or demand resignation? Fine...having Congress unilaterally expel him? Just says YOU do not CARE what they think, YOU are IN the Club, They are not.

This is one election that should very much be checked for voter fraud. It's no stretch of the imagination that the NY far left registered all the illegals to vote and then sent in mail in ballots for all of them. The first place the left would look to flip are any Republican enclaves in states that are predominantly far left. This district would be a perfect example.

w/ respect#33: the gerrymander was known in advance, as was the approaching storm,
the soreazz money, the need to provide help to elderly gop voters, and a work around
for the tired old ny scam of running to the right of loser lefties... til they win.
all this could have been remedied by seeking PDT support pronto, it would seem.
more importantly, and correct me if i am wrong, they won using illegal mail in
ballots -early and often-in patent violation of ny law-which were then harvested
early and often. this should compound, not cure the legal problems.
in fact, wouldn't this scenario nullify this ''election'' under the ny state
constitution-allowing a re-do for illegitimacy....
the cure should lie within ny laws--if you have any sane judges left.

If House & Senate really had ethics requirements with consistent enforcement, okay to getting rid of a reliable MAGA support and vote. However, we have some vile and long time seriously corrupt incumbents in both that are never even primaried. Santos was a vote we desperately needed.
