Maine's secretary of state has said she would welcome the Supreme Court reviewing her decision to disqualify Donald Trump from the primary ballot, admitting the move was unprecedented.
Sheena Bellows on Thursday ruled that Trump could not be on their ballot, in a move which mirrored the December 19 decision made by Colorado's Supreme Court.
Both Colorado and Maine found that Trump had participated in an insurrection, and so was ineligible to hold office, under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.

It's amazing how much power a Communist will grab to get the results they want in the next election. I don't remember anyone being convicted of sedition that is running for office, so how can she just remove someone from the ballot for that reason then?

Hey Shanna! Tell me again how you found Trump guilty of insurrection without a trial, without evidence, without witnesses, without a jury, and without a defense.

Scum like her are best described as Public Enemy #1. IMO she already guilty of abuse of office for election interference. I am not an expert so I don’t know if it is a felony. But it should be.

About 60 Confederate SOLDIERS who ACTUALLY participated in a REAL insurrection against the United States during the Civil War were subsequently elected and served in the Senate. The application of the 14th has never actually been used in any real sense. It was totally ignored at a time when it was new and supposedly "active". Now it is an ancient, dusty law, never actually used for it's supposed purpose, and now used as a pathetic, fraudulent way to try to stop an honest politician who TERRIFIES the criminal class in DC because he is not corrupt like they all are.

You cannot use an "allegation" as a reason to deny somebody his/her rights. There must be a proper conviction.
Remember innocent until proven guilty? Oh that's right, that doesn't apply to conservatives in general and Trump in particular.
This is a blatant political move that cannot be justified in any legal sense.

She represents the voters of Maine and consequently reflects the general intelligence and thinking of the population. I'm glad I live about as far from those nuts as you can get.

Actually #8, she doesn't represent the voters of Maine. She was elected (ie: appointed) by the lawmakers of the state. She represents them.
(Lawmakers on Wednesday elected Democratic state Sen. Shenna Bellows as secretary of state for the next two years — the first woman ever to hold that post in Maine).

Inside a liberal is a totalitarian trying to get out. This woman represents Maine and the way they think which is a far cry from Col. Chamberlain and his 20th Maine who held Little Round Top to save the Union and the Law.

She used to work for the ACLU an organization that would be number one in fighting this if it wasn't Trump they were interfering with a fair election against.

Guilty by accusation, I thought that only applied in cases like the McMartin preschool case; look how that turned out.

Then the guards on duty that day in January should go to jail because they opened the door and let the people come in quietly. Anyway, what happened has not been adjudicated so where does she get the right to say and do what she has done?

Actually, this is good news. It means we can accuse office holders like Ms. Bellows of treason, without any evidence or guilty verdict in a court of law, and hang them for it.

Bribery also disqualifies someone from the presidency. So disqualify FJB as there is ample evidence of his bribe taking.

She is a good little Dem sheeple, doing as she is told.
Likely, she expects her reward will be a congressional seat, or perhaps even the governorship.
The citizens of Maine should be ashamed.
