Donald Trump has expressed concern that the Supreme Court could back attempts by Colorado and Maine to block him from the Republican primary ballot, according to reports. Both states have moved to exclude Trump over his role in the January 6, 2021, attack by his supporters on the Capitol. The states have accepted legal challenges to Trump's nomination that cite Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which says office holders cannot 'have engaged in insurrection or rebellion'. Trump has privately expressed concerns that the Supreme Court, to which he appointed three conservative justices while president, may side with Colorado and Maine so as not to appear 'political',

Taking Trump off of the ballot, in any state is unconstitutional, plain as day. The 14th Amendment does not apply to the President. He takes a completely different oath than officers do. He is not an officer he is the executive. The whole premise is insane. Trump is running for Federal Office and no state court or "Valley Girl" Sec. of State has control of who appears on the ballot. It is the ultimate in election interference, especially since he has never been charged, tried and convicted of ANYTHING. Of course I worry too about SCOTUS and their decision, but it's time they put on their big kid underpants and do what is right, along with a scathing take down of Colorado and that little AOC wannabe in Maine. They are there to protect the Constitution and provide a fair and just decision for Donald Trump and all of the rest of us. That is the LEAST we can expect. The decision should be 9-0, if not, we'll have a window to our future.

President Joe Biden is ending his third term without his family dogs, both German Shepherds — Major and Commander — in the White House with him. That is because his dogs have bitten people more than one dozen times since moving in, prompting officials to formally kick them out after dealing with it for months on end. Biden adopted Major as a puppy from the Humane Association in 2018. Major was one of several litter mates who was exposed to an unknown toxic substance, making them sick, which forced hospitalization. However, they ultimately recovered, and Biden adopted one of them. Originally, Major was praised for being the first rescue dog

In a letter filed on Friday night in federal court in Manhattan, prosecutors said the 'strong public interest' in a prompt resolution of their case against the 31-year-old former billionaire outweighed the benefits of a second trial. For Republicans, it could be a very happy new year indeed. The 2024 elections hold the potential for a trifecta: winning unified control of the federal government, including all its elected branches, for the first time in eight years. “Could” is the operative word, however. Republicans have an opportunity, but they must capitalize on it to bring their electoral dreams to fruition. The fact that it takes more than good poll numbers and flawed opponents to win in a polarized political climate can itself be summed up in one of the most futile phrases of the past few years: the “red wave.” Just two years ago, Republicans looked to have a chance
