Beginning January 1, 2024, illegal aliens residing in California will become eligible for taxpayer-funded health insurance — the first state in the nation to enact such a policy.
In June of this year, Newsom touted the budget agreement that will make California the first state in the United States to offer health insurance, subsidized by taxpayers, to the state’s estimated 4.4 million illegal aliens so long as they are low-income.Starting in the new year, illegal aliens in California will qualify for Medi-Cal, which is California’s state-funded version of the federal government’s Medicaid program. Since 2015, only illegal alien children qualified for Medi-Cal thanks to then-Gov. Jerry Brown (D).

The government serves the criminals and crushes the citizens that support it.

Texas needs to give fliers to all those illegals pouring into their state telling them about free insurance in California. Might just empty their state for a bit.

Let's see, expand benefits for those who don't work and don't pay taxes, forcing fed up working taxpayers to leave the state and enticeing more non-workng non-taxpaying recipients to move in. Now THERE's a recipe for disaster. Who is the genius who thought THIS up? Oh, right. The governor who wants to be president. Every time I see his face I reflexively check for my wallet.

There's the answer for New York and Chicago to get rid of the crushing hordes that they are feeding and housing, fire up the buses! One minor question, where is California, that is billions of dollars in debt, going to get the money? When democrats promise to give away money, they conveniently forget that they don't have any.

It's almost as if Newsom has a checklist of things to do that will drive more productive people from the state of Kalifornia. Each time he checks one off his "Make the people angry" bucket list there's another exodus. At some point Kalifornia will die.

We missed the caveat: only if the illegals are low income. Those with substantial income don't get Newsomcare.

Do you want Newsom to do to America what he has done to California?

If Gruesome were buying this with his own personal assets, I'd be less upset. The vacuous miscreant imagines himself the one who will bring worldwide socialism, simply by dictating it in California and opening it up to EVERYBODY.
And in the final measure the only ones who will be denied the benefit will be straight white Christian males, especially if they don't go berzerk when they see Trump's image or hear his name.

WE will ALL pay for Comraade Newsom's folly--
In effect.YOU and not the State of California will be subsidizing this.
When Massachusetts set up RomneyCare, ONLY the residents of Mass paid for it.
When NoBamaCare was passed on CHRISTMAS EVE in 2010 after the Republican mid-terms it would not have been passed in the new Congress due to the House changing party leadership to Republicans in 2011.
Regular folks are leaving Taxifornia in DROVES if they are able. It is certainly no place to raise a family anymore.

This a generous offer from the governor of a State with a $68 billion deficit due to lost revenue from people fleeing. What is Newsom hoping to gain? Is he in such a liberal bubble that he doesn’t understand how citizens are feeling about illegal immigration? We don’t want to offer them free anything. This should set off another round of escapes from this horrible state.

They don't have the money. The US does not have the money. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. Who is going to pay for this?
Told this to the Lady Chihuahua and she drew an analogy to the decline of the Roman Empire. I agreed.
It's not just California. Look at what the United States is doing in Mexico. They are working to normalize illegal immigrants. They will setup a pipeline for illegals directly to California.
They are working to break America's back.

Sorry for the second comment, but another thought occurred to me. This program is the product of the obsolete 1960's assumption that people are tied to their workplaces, that the taxpayers are helpless because they must stay in California for their jobs. But covid destroyed that workplace tether.
With a sizeable portion of the workforce now working remotely, liking it, and refusing to go back to the office, not only could they work from their home in the suburbs, but they could also work from .... there it is .... a different state. Leave California and still keep the same job with the same employer. Uh oh.

$68 billion in the hole this year and this freaking moron is talking about handing out more non-existent money.
How can California continue to function? All those 100% state pensions are going to start going unpaid at some point.

#9, WE will all pay for it because when Newsom’s amnesty plan fails under the crushing weight of debt, CA will get bailed out by the Fed and guess who will pay for THAT? We taxpayers, that’s who. Newsom can’t lose with this gambit.

A 68 billion dollar state budget deficit this year and over 140 billion in state dept. Government agencies are cutting budgets for activities the actually benefit the state (if inefficiently) and cutting staff (and probably instituting furloughs). But Newsom has money to spend.
The coastals keep voting Democrat, so Newsom has money to spend. Of course the vote counts might be different if voter ID and election day only voting were the rule but.......mail in ballots for everyone.
