The 'adopted' black son of new House Speaker Mike Johnson has spoken out for the first time in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com. Michael Tirrell James said he would ‘probably be in prison’ were it not for Johnson – after he appeared in a Los Angeles court Wednesday on charges of running an illegal cannabis business and possessing brass knuckles. James has never taken part in publicity for Johnson's political campaigns, and little has been known about the 40-year-old father of four. But now DailyMail.com can reveal how the top GOP lawmaker and his wife Kelly informally adopted James after meeting him while doing charitable community work in Louisiana in the 1990s.

Five members of the NYPD’s elite Bomb Squad are suing the city for $75 million, claiming their careers were ended by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
The officers, all with decades of experience, said they’ve lost out on a “full pension, with annual interest, and health benefits” after they were fired in 2022 for refusing to get the jab. /snip/ The mandate was blasted by workers who said it was unfair, and it’s been the subject of numerous lawsuits.

This week, Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) and other House Republicans introduced legislation to ban the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from providing green cards, visas, refugee status, and parole to Palestinians.
Zinke’s legislation also would revoke visas for Palestinians in the United States, thus making them eligible for deportation.
“This legislation keeps America safe,” Zinke said of the legislation. “I don’t trust the Biden Administration any more than I do the Palestinian Authority to screen who is allowed to come into the United States.”
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is in the hot seat after disappointing results for the GOP in the recent elections that took place on Wednesday. She is now facing even more scrutiny and calls for her resignation coming from high-profile conservatives and Republicans who attribute the GOP’s less-than-stellar performances over the past few elections to McDaniel’s performance as leader of the national party.

During an appearance on Fox News with host Laura Ingraham, McDaniel defended her record and addressed criticism about her leadership. Ingraham brought up the calls for McDaniel’s resignation and asked her to respond.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has expressed a cautious approach towards the impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden.
During a closed-door meeting with House GOP moderates, Johnson highlighted the lack of sufficient evidence at present to begin formal impeachment proceedings, according to the Washington Post.
This sentiment was echoed by Representative Don Bacon (R-NE), who summarized Johnson’s stance, noting that even a single Democratic vote is unattainable at this point.
