Drug addicts, dealers and homeless who have plagued San Francisco’s downtown have miraculously disappeared this week as the city cleans up for a huge international event.
Sources tell The Post the homeless have been pushed to other parts of the city in preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which starts tomorrow and runs through Nov. 17.
However, residents and business owners said city officials’ attempts to “herd” transients and drug addicts is only a “Band-Aid” to a severe problem as drug overdoses continue to plague the city.

No worries, after the summit, they will be back.
It is all about optics, not solutions.

In Beijing they have to clean the blood off the streets before receiving visitors.

Reminds me of the demonicrats moving the homeless and addicts out of the Madison Square Garden area of NYC and then fencing it in to keep them out for the duration of their national convention in 1992.

The Peoples' Republic of Denver was and still is good at playing that hide the baggage game, too, whenever, foreign bigshots were coming into town or a major political event was planned. The G7 summit that was held in Denver a number of years ago comes to mind when BJ Clinton and russkie president Yeltsin et al were in town.

So, as they say, "If there's a will, there's a way." Moral of the story; San Francisco's leaders hasn't had a will/desire to clean up their City for many reasons. Sigh. And it used to be such a beautiful city.

After this display of total contempt for the citizens of San Francisco, they will probably re-elect him.

A similar thing happened in '96, homeless and "street people" all disappeared, then suddenly re-appeared in San Diego, just in time for the RNC.
Media of course were out in force to photo and film "Rich heartless Repubs" walking by the poor and destitute masses.
It was fairly obvious in that San Diego's resident street folks were/are all uniformly darkly tanned, while the bussed in Nor Cals were pale, over dressed, primarily in dark colors, and getting severely sunburnt.

If “re-elect him” refers to Gavin Newsom, the state will be spared that disaster since he only gets two terms in which to destroy California. Newsom could negatively affect us all if he runs for president next year and, with the help of stupid voters and some strategic cheating, wins.

Another one of those "bless'ed miracles," I suppose that means Joe and Nancy were rubbing the shine off those beads.
