Sherrice Barnett listened in disbelief as Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty explained that a teenager charged in her son's murder would be spared prison. "I couldn't breathe," Barnett recalled. "I said, 'I just got to get up out of here.' I never would have imagined in a million years that it would have went that way." She assumed the only reasonable outcome for the killing of her son Derrell Freeman, 27, was significant time behind bars — as suggested by state guidelines. (Snip) a pattern with Moriarty's administration. The families are told that instead of seeking prison, prosecutors want probation.

Posters #3 and 4, here's the problem. When running for office these people actually do say what they plan on doing, releasing prisoners, no cash bail, giving them light sentences, parole even for the most heinous crimes etc. but the people have been conditioned to NOT believe what the politicians promise so they think no politician will do what they say when campaigning.

Many years ago my cousin was murdered in a lovers lane near Forestville Md. 20 years later they caught the killer. At the trial the Judge said the killer had lived such a decent life after the killing that he should be set free, He walked out of the court room and smiled at the cousin's father . I have great sympathy for the mother of this victim ,not sure I wouldn't become a killer myself and take out this so-called judge. Not sure that isn't what is needed. Sounds crazy, but the alternative is to live the rest of your life without justice.

The solution for these dedicated liberals is self or “loved one” becoming the subject of one of these incidents. It happens now and then, but not enough to turn the tide. Liberalism is such a strange illness.

Plea bargaining, probation, parole, suspended sentences, conditional discharges, time off for "good behavior" - all need to go away. Prosecutors and judges who do not charge & convict the most serious crime consistent with the facsts need to go to prison. Any predator that commits a crime after relase, the judge that released them and the parole officer need to go to prison. They need to have some skin in the game.

Illinois politicians and members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party have raised concerns about the sizeable subsidies being granted to the Chinese electric vehicle battery maker, Gotion. Gotion is linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and aims to build a $2 billion plant in Illinois while receiving $7.5 billion in federal tax credits, (Snip) “And to give that money to a Chinese company that is already subsidized by the Chinese government is a serious mistake. China’s goal is to dominate the global battery industry, and forcing American taxpayers to unwittingly fund the CCP’s ambitions is a direct threat to U.S. economic and national security.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) successfully led a coup against now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday. He managed to eke out a “win” by rallying the entire Democrat caucus and eight Republicans to oust him. It’s the first time that has happened in U.S. history. And it’s a total clown show. Not only does it distract from the already tense budget negotiations, but it makes a laughingstock of the GOP—and the U.S.—and gives Democrats even more leverage to push through their radical policies. It'll be conducted to ensure the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are operational in the event of a national crisis, while also familiarizing the public with the notifications.
