FNC’s Greg Gutfeld told his co-hosts Tuesday on “The Five” that the Republicans who voted to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) from his position shot the party in the head.
Gutfeld said, “It’s kind of sad because nobody bothered to bring any clarity to this. If you can’t explain or persuade your point without putting people to sleep, you lose. These parties, we realize, are not mirror images. One wants to win and the other doesn’t. They shot themselves in the foot and by ‘the foot’ I mean head.”
He continued, “He broke promises. I had to go find out what these promises were. He promised to use the 2022

That's the Fox News view. All those hosts have a lot more remunerative jobs than all the Republican voters. I do not trust Fox, and no longer watch them.

It seems like everyone I saw on TV today has been against Gaetz and even Trump seemed to side with McCarthy. Only most posters on this website are for Gaetz. Please tell me how this has helped the Republicans. I realize McCarthy wasn’t perfect, but what has Gaetz actually done to improve things? To me, he has stopped the Republicans from everything they have been working on until they finally get a new speaker, who, God forbid might be a Democrat. Everyone wants to oust the Rinos, never considering that we need their votes to win elections. They could be thinking why even vote after today’s fiasco.

Gutfeld is a late night TV comedian, not a political strategist.

What conservative victories did we have under McCarthy?
None.

The Head-shooting happened when the GOP allowed McCarthy to become speaker. His promises were never to be kept. Fool me once... we won't be fooled again.

Gutfeld is a very funny guy, which is good for comedians... unfortunately, he needs to learn that INTEGRITY matters! If he learns that he might try to acquire some!

If all the MAGA haters are against Kevin's ouster it must be a good thing. The RINOs love themselves some establishment stuff, and they hate it when the people win. Drag all of them. Gutfeld is not funny, and his comments were from spoken with his little butt sitting on the top of the fence. At least there's a soundbite of him saying, "I'm with Trump" just in case. Jokes on you, little bitty Greg.

Republicans are supposed to be fiscally conservative and good for the economy. They have just as much blame for the bad economy as Biden and the Dems. Thank God for Gaitz (sorry for the bad spelling). He is one of only a few who will hold the Repubs feet to the fire. McCarthy was supposed to be working on a budget bill this Summer. Instead, he had them take a 6 week vacation and then scramble to get a CR and future omnibus bill passed. We are trillions in debt and McCarthy didn't care enough to work on passing the budget. Promises made- promises not kept. Goodbye.

I have a question for all of the McCarthy haters. If McCarthy was a traitor who compromised with Democrats so much, why did all of the Democrats vote to remove him? You would think that they would have wanted to keep him in place if he was helping them with their agenda. Truth is that there are many in the Republican Party who have this childish belief that you can get everything you want without working with the opposition even though Democrats control the Senate and the White House and Republicans have a margin of 5 in the House. This is delusional thinking. We are now screwed. Thanks for nothing Matt.

The parties are mirror images of each other and that is the problem. Deny it all you want, doesn't make it any less true. Wake TFU!

@#3 - What has McCarthy done to improve anything? He's funding everything we don't want funded. He backstabbed the American people as did Ryan, Hastert and Boehner. The only way a Dem can become Speaker next week is if the GOP members help them. If that comes to pass, will that convince you the GOP are and have always been the lemmings we know them to be?

The problem is not that they ousted McCarthy, but that they had no plan for his replacement.
