A No-Brainer Choice: Donald J. Trump For Speaker

Original Article

Wow. That was fast. The House of Representatives for once heeded this commentator and dispatched the sad-sack Kevin “Fredo” McCarthy to the dustbin of congressional history. Rich irony alert: The deed was accomplished with the help of the Democratic votes to which the ex-speaker had turned in betraying conservatives who had earlier this year acquiesced in allowing him to take up the gavel. Now it’s time to turn to “Part II” (wink-wink) of the task: identifying and installing the “’to-the-mattresses’ leader willing to do what it takes to rescue America

Why would the Rebublicans shot themselves in the left foot then turn around and shot themselves in the right foot? Trump is miles ahead of Diaper Joe for the White House. The Speaker gig would take him off the campaign trail and allow Dems to hammer every move he makes as Speaker. Imagine the glee the Kneepad media would have creating lies on every word uttered by Trump as Speaker/ Rebublicans could in one swift week ruin the House and their chances of the White House. Quit playing the Dems with emotions and use your brains for one brief moment. Two weeks ago the Rebublicans were on track to push McConnell to the edge of his leadership, hammer Dems and Diaper Joe via the purse and set up campaign issues in their favor for next fall. Now they are working harder to sink their own ship that the Dems ever did.

YES! PDT as SOTH would be wonderful.......even for a few months. He can investigate the J6 nonsense. Release the prisoners. Reorganize the Capital Police. Speed up any 'negotiations' Cut the budget. (Take $ from the DOJ for care for illegals, victims' fund) Further demonstrate his many skills as a professional negotiator (rather than a professional politician) Upset the status quo.......continuously. All with half his brain tied behind his head.

Even if the President were only able to devote 5% of his time to the job he would be far, far, more effective than Boehner, Ryan, and McCarthy combined.

If the Repubs are so lacking in talent that they can’t find a current House member to explain their common sense policies, then go outside for a pro American, pro economic growth person. People like Tucker Carlson, Larry Kudlow and Steve Moore would do well. But not President Trump, who has to serve a far greater purpose of defeating Biden-Harris or whatever leftist/LGBT combination the Dems cobbled together.

My position is one of hostility regarding this maneuver. Gaetz had better perform extravagantly. If the Dims are in favor of it, I'm skeptical that it's good. Plus we don't know who can be elected to replace him. Who is it that is so obvious that he/she will be elected on the first vote? Gaetz better perform and make this turn out to be GREAT. Otherwise I'm on the cusp of seeing him as the enemy. Which I don't want to do. I'm skeptical of such an historic action at such an historic time. Things are falling apart. Is this constructive of just opportunistic?

He’s actively running for president and defending himself in three criminal cases, one civil case and who knows how many other lawsuits. Plus the challenges too take him off of the ballot. When exactly would he have time to be speaker? While watching democrat heads explode would be highly entertaining, you just know that he would give the dems more fodder to use against him. Trump does have a bad habit of not thinking before blurting something out. But this would be soooooo entertaining.

If the most informative response to the Hamas atrocities was Victor Davis Hanson’s Twitter post on Israel’s “50th anniversary war,” then the most interesting was written in The Spectator by Brendan O’Neill, who asked “why isn’t Antifa condemning the tide of anti-Semitism?” “Where is Antifa?” he wondered. “Where are those self-styled anti-fascists who love to rage against anything that is even vaguely reminiscent of the 1930s?” He knows what the rest of us do: That there’s nothing anti-fascist about Antifa. “To the modern left, everything is fascism except actual fascism,” says O’Neill.

Not long after Russia invaded Ukraine, Vice President Kamala Harris showcased her keen grasp of international affairs by explaining the war thusly: “Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong.” Despite being true, it was widely mocked for being so incredibly insipid. Kamala wasn’t talking to kindergartners, who probably have a better grasp of world affairs than she, but to listeners of a radio program. Now,

President Joe Biden’s decision to turn tail and start construction on a border wall was quickly overshadowed by the gruesome attack against Israel. But it’s worth revisiting because Biden’s Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas might have just admitted to repeatedly lying to Congress under oath. On Aug. 5, Mayorkas announced that he planned to waive more than two dozen federal statutes so that construction could immediately begin on 20 miles of border wall in Texas. Why was he taking this step? Mayorkas makes it perfectly clear: “There is presently an acute and immediate need

It’s a tragic fact that Hamas’ attack that killed hundreds last weekend was a deadly salvo against the very existence of the Jewish state of Israel. But it was also an attack on the West’s weaklings who have once again enabled terrorism. And, sadly, that includes the U.S. It was no accident that Hamas used a “Festival for Peace” concert near Gaza as an offensive on the very existence of the multi-ethnic, democratic state of Israel. Those attending no doubt thought their good intentions and good wishes for peace would be a shield against such atrocities. Sadly, terrorists saw this as vulnerability, and took advantage.

Environmentalists have long complained about oil and gas industry subsidies. But we don’t hear from them regarding the subsidies paid out for politically favored renewable energy programs, even though the supposedly green sources are dining sumptuously on taxpayers’ dollars. In fact, renewables are more heavily subsidized than the fossil fuels, and it would be difficult if not impossible for them to exist without the support. From 2016 to 2022, “energy-specific subsidies and support” totaled $183.3 billion, according to a U.S. Energy Information Administration report. While “wind and solar power account for about 21% of domestic electricity production,”

The 2024 election has seemed to be a preordained outcome, with current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump holding substantial leads in their respective parties. But in October’s I&I/TIPP Poll, both major candidates’ support slipped a bit against their challengers. A one-off fluke, or the start of a trend? The most recent online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken Sept. 27-29 from 1,262 registered voters, saw slippage for both candidates, though neither will yet be pushing the panic button. In the three months since President Joe Biden decided to campaign on the glories of “Bidenomics,” inflation started creeping back up, the unemployment rate rose, and his approval ratings on the economy have steadily dropped. Now, stagflation is back in the news. All of it is leading Democrats to urge Biden to … shift his messaging. JERUSALEM — Israel’s military on Friday directed the evacuation of northern Gaza, a region that is home to 1.1 million people — about half of the territory’s population — within 24 hours, a U.N. spokesman said. This could signal an impending ground offensive, though the Israeli military has not yet confirmed such an appeal. On Thursday it said that while it was preparing, a decision has not yet been made. The order, delivered to the U.N., comes as Israel presses an offensive against Hamas militants. U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric called the order “impossible” without “devastating humanitarian consequences.”

The funds would be used to help more than 1.2 million people, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says, stressing that aid groups do not have “the resources required to adequately respond to the full range of needs of vulnerable Palestinians.” You could address some pretty urgent needs
