How would a government shutdown affect
Your social security payments?

As the clock continues to tick towards a possible federal government shutdown, questions are being raised as to how this could affect social security payments for millions of Americans. Social security payments would continue unaffected during a government shutdown, according to experts, but contacting the Social Security Administration (SSA) in the case of problems may be more difficult. If lawmakers do not find a solution by October 1 and a shutdown does occur, the 66 million recipients of social security will still receive their complete federal monthly checks - which averages at $1,827 for retirees.

How many times do we have to endure the same lame excuses of why the flying albatross deserves its gold sneakers. How long do we sit idly by and watch our government overspend with no accountability only to turn around and handwring how they have to spend more. Take away the credit card from these obsessed fools and start the fiscal diet now.

It won't. This isn't the first government shutdown. The only things shutdown are government run offices, which run at half speed anyway, and government run exhibits.

Go ahead, stop the payments. The march on Washington would be so massive that it would sink back into the swamp that it once was - I mean the real swamp, not the democrat one. I would like to see things shut down just to see what monuments Joe would cover up, right before he leaves town for the beach.

Someone in the media finally tells the truth about Social Security and other government benefits. The usual mantra of "you won't get your SS check" is a lie and the media know it. Yet, they repeat it endlessly because it scares vulnerable people, seniors, and gullible people. Bottom line is most entitlements continue during a government shutdown. They are sent out by computer. You may have trouble connecting to someone at the SS office if you need to speak to someone, but that is no different than any other day (shut down or not). Stop the scare tactics.

Congress has an entire year to complete the next year's budget. Yet, every year, it is the same thing. No budget, continuing resolutions, one giant bill covering everything that nobody knows what is actually in it, and lots of fear mongering of what will happen if the mystery budget is not passed. Just shut down the government until the budget is passed the correct way! Entitlements will continue to be paid. The Military will still operate. Stop the fear mongering of what will happen in the event of a government shutdown. If the media didn't report it, would most people even notice?

Former President Donald Trump is gaining momentum among Hispanic voters, according to a recent Univision poll, which claims to be the largest Hispanic bipartisan primary public polling of the 2024 election cycle so far. Among Hispanic Republicans, Trump maintains a strong lead, with 50% responding they would vote for him in the GOP primary, the poll found. Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis follows in second place with 12%, and pharmaceutical businessman Vivek Ramaswamy trails behind at 9%. Despite four federal indictments, Trump is dominating among Hispanic voters and stands at 36%, a four-point increase from when he left office in January 2021, as per a previous Univision News poll.

Hunter Biden received two wires totaling $260,000 in 2019 originating from Chinese business partners that listed President Joe Biden’s Delaware home as the beneficiary address for the funds, the House Oversight Committee revealed Tuesday. The bombshell allegation is the first direct link between Joe Biden and foreign wired money to the Biden family business from China. The Delaware address is Joe Biden’s main residence. Hunter Biden also spent time at the address, though it is unclear if he claimed it as his home address at the time of the wire transfer in July and August 2019.

There is but one front in which the Ukrainian counteroffensive is being very successful: in the mainstream media. There, the complete failure of the counteroffensive is but a minor inconvenience as they chronicle every minor skirmish as a triumph for Kiev, and every successful missile attack as ‘the beginning of the end’ for Moscow. The reality is that there is a war of positional battles going on, a situation in which the Russian war of attrition will always be victorious, as they have more guns, tanks, ammo, manpower. In the last few days, the Russians have continued depleting the Ukrainian infrastructure in ways that will turn the inter into a bitter experience, and

President Joe Biden slipped and almost fell coming down the small stair case from Air Force One on Tuesday, just after it was revealed he is doing balancing exercises, wearing sneakers and using the shorter stairs in an effort to avoid any stumbles. The president used the lower stairs of Air Force One as he exited the presidential plane in Michigan to meet with striking auto workers. Close to the bottom, his heel slipped but he caught himself before he fell. He also appeared to be wearing hiking boots or work boots of some kind, which would be sturdier for his feet than dress shoes.

A Manhattan judge on Tuesday found Donald Trump committed fraud for years by exaggerating the value of his wealth – clearing the way for a civil trial where the former president could be ordered to pay $250 million and banned from doing business in the Empire State. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron found Trump, 77, his family and his business, the Trump Organization, liable for fraud – the key claim in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ sprawling lawsuit against the defendants. In a 35-page ruling, Engoron sided with James, who argued that Trump made several indisputably false statements in business documents to secure favorable terms
