Biden Energy secretary blames 'poor judgment'

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm blamed her staff's "poor judgment" on a recent incident when police were called on them for clogging electric vehicle (EV) chargers with a gas-powered car. (snip) "Let me just say, I have a fantastic young staff, just fantastic," Granholm told Franklin when asked about the incident. "It was poor judgment on the part of the team." (snip) Granholm also sidestepped blame during the back-and-forth with Franklin on Thursday, saying that it was not her that was "saving the spot." However, the charger was ultimately saved for her to use in an effort to avoid waiting in a long line.

There is far more to this story than some dipstick staff member using poor judgment. The family who complained need to be called out themselves for sitting in a hot car with children waiting for an available charger. Are they thinking that their woke status is more important than their children’s wellbeing? All Granholm accomplished was to demonstrate to everybody the impractical and negative impacts of EV ownership.

The poor judgement goes much higher than staff. What about their boss, the Energy Secretary? What about her boss, the President? What about all the people that voted for that President? Tens of millions of people making poor judgement. What's it going to take for people to wake up?

The staff was just doing their job, at least they were smart enough to be in a ICE car. Who's "poor judgment" was it to make the trip in the first place? Meaning even I would know waiting in a long lines was bound to happen and I don't even have a EV.

It wasn't just poor judgement, it was the "don't you know who I am" form of entitlement. They had an important person who was trying to make time and this was another obstacle they needed to overcome. Thus, there was no thought to who would be inconvenienced.

A political stunt that backfired. The moral of the story is that the marketplace is not ready for EVs. (Unless each EV comes with a staff member that will drive an ICE vehicle ahead of you to reserve a charging station).

A senior House Republican lawmaker told Politico on Monday that there are not enough Republican votes to send Ukraine more aid. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will head to the Capitol building on Thursday, where he will lobby for more aid for Ukraine. President Joe Biden has asked for $24 billion in military and economic aid to Ukraine. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) predicted on Sunday that Zelensky “makes the case better than anyone” and could be “very, very persuasive” in getting reluctant Republicans to back more aid.

Despite a cultural narrative that singles lead happier lives, married Americans report higher rates of happiness than their single counterparts. A strong marriage is actually "the number one predictor of happiness in America today," says Brad Wilcox, a sociology professor at the University of Virginia and a fellow at the Institute for Family Studies. "What we see in the research is that both men and women who are married are almost twice as likely to be happy compared to their fellow Americans who are not married," he told FOX News Digital.

Kansas has reached the next stage in its battle over government recognition of transgender identities. Democratic Governor Laura Kelly joined other Democratic state leaders in 2019 by allowing people to change the gender listed on their birth certificates. But the GOP-controlled legislature passed a new law this year overriding Kelly’s veto and defining gender as the sex of a person assigned at birth and ensuring that official state documents would reflect that reality.

The Soviets successfully pulled off a number of dirty tricks which increased their power but impoverished their citizens. Among them was to stir up class warfare by politicizing envy. Thus, unsuccessful farmers were urged to demonize and even kill “kulaks” -- that is, any productive farmer in the area. Another trick was to fail to provide factories with sufficient raw materials to fulfill the overly optimistic state-set production quotas and then criminally prosecute factory managers who couldn’t meet these targets as "saboteurs.” It deflected from their own failures but unsurprisingly resulted in a shortage of qualified managers and engineers.
