NEW YORK — Yelling that the future and their lives depend on ending fossil fuels, tens of thousands of protesters on Sunday kicked off a week where leaders will try once again to curb climate change primarily caused by coal, oil and natural gas. But protesters say it’s not going to be enough. And they aimed their wrath directly at U.S. President Joe Biden, urging him to stop approving new oil and gas projects, phase out current ones and declare a climate emergency with larger executive powers. “We hold the power of the people, the power you need to win this election,” 17-year-old Emma Buretta of Brooklyn and the youth

In all of human history we are living in the best of times due to energy provide by "fossil fuels".NYC streets where they marched were ankle deep in animal manure before automobiles and people froze to death in their apartments. As PJ O'Rourke stated - " What kind of pollution do you want? Would you rather die of cancer at eighty or typhoid fever at nine?"

Those 100% Natural fires have added MORE pollution this year than Humans have in a decade. Places mentioned as "Home" for the protestors? Houston, Louisiana, Florida...They complained about the Heat waaaay down there...did they have AC on at all this year? They could do THEIR part...by moving somewhere colder, don'cha think?

These young people have had this drummed into their heads since preschool. They have no idea how stopping our reliance on oil will affect the economy and their lives and how unpredictabe wind and solar power are. Destroying the land and wildlife habitats for solar and wind farms is not environmentally friendly either. Of course they're against the safer, and more reliable nuclear power, as well. I'm happy to hear all of the Republican presidential candidate's dedication to increase oil production. I am watching with interest the Nordic Hydrogen Partnership and Elon Musk's Tesla switch to hydrogen. Not sure of it's feasibility, but it's interesting.

Here are some of the ways petroleum is used in our every day lives. All plastic is made from petroleum and plastic is used almost everywhere: in cars, houses, toys, computers and clothing. Asphalt used in road construction is a petroleum product as is the synthetic rubber in the tires. Paraffin wax comes from petroleum, as do fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, detergents, phonograph records, photographic film, furniture, packaging materials, surfboards, paints, and artificial fibers used in clothing, upholstery, and carpet backing. Uh, PROVE IT first! Go live in a cave and give up ANYTHING made from Petroleum. I dare you. You won't last long. By the way, there's no such thing as "fossil fuel," the Earth produces Oil constantly from trapped Methane gas under high pressure and temperature. Oil is almost everywhere on the planet, oozing from sea beds and rock formations. Do some research. Oh, and another, "by the way," what do you have against trees and plants that you would wish to kill them? CO2 is plant food. The more plant food, the more trees and jungles!

The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it will grant temporary legal status to nearly half-a-million illegal immigrants from Venezuela so they can pursue work, citing political instability in their home country. The Homeland Security Department announced the extension and redesignation of Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months, allowing 472,000 migrants who had arrived in the country as of July 31 to remain legally and work. The move was green-lighted by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Venezuelan migrants have accounted for a large portion of those who have crossed the border from Latin America in recent years.

In response to the racism inherent in Critical Race Theory (“CRT”)—i.e., that blacks are victims and whites are evil—18 states have passed laws prohibiting schools from engaging in race-based teaching. South Carolina was one of those states and, according to a laugh-out-loud funny article in the Washington Post, the law is working. Incidentally, the article isn’t intended to be funny. It is, instead, intended to be a heartrending human interest story about a martyred leftist female teacher who violated the law and got caught. In its general appropriations bill for 2021-2022, the South Carolina legislature, for the first time, inserted a specific clause aimed at blocking leftist-style racism

A F-35 jet could have crashed on Sunday due to poor weather in South Carolina, new audio suggests - as questions mount as to why the disastrous training exercise was allowed to proceed. The F-35B Lightning II which the unnamed Marine pilot was flying is believed to be at risk of malfunctions if it flies in thunderstorms, according to a Forbes investigation in November. Its sister jet, the F-35A, is more severely affected and cannot fly within 25 miles of lightning.

United Nations, (Reuters) - Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Wednesday he will pump $500 million into the next phase of his energy transition campaign, aiming to shut down "every last" coal plant in the United States and slash gas-fired capacity in half by 2030. The $500 million infusion into his decade-long Beyond Carbon initiative aims to "finish the job on coal" by working with state and local organizations to force the closure of the roughly 150 coal plants that have not yet retired, slash current gas generation in half and block the construction of new gas-fired plants.

The Biden administration is setting a booby trap in case a Republican wins the presidency in 2024. On Friday, the White House unveiled a proposed rule that would make it even harder than in the past for an incoming Republican president to wrestle control of the left-leaning federal bureaucracy and actually implement the conservative policies promised to voters. Of the 2.2 million federal civil workers, only 4,000 are presidential appointees. The rest stay in their jobs, from one administration to the next, protected by rules that make it nearly impossible to discipline or replace them.

In the leftist lexicon, preventing gun violence is code for “gun control.” That’s why we should all view with deep suspicion the report that the White House is creating an office that will focus on “preventing” gun violence. Since the White House’s policies all encourage gun violence, the only avenue left to the White House to “curb” this violence is to grab guns from law-abiding citizens. If you read the article at The Hill, you see that, while it talks constantly about how the White House, congresscritters, and various groups dedicated to ending gun violence are excited about this office to end gun violence, the article is silent about anything concrete.

Joe Biden has seemingly wandered off the UN stage without shaking hands with Brazil's Lula at the end of a joint speech. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, 77, looked visibly irritated after the two leaders shared a stage to speak about their initiative to improve workers' rights in each country. But their diplomatic meeting got off to a labored start when Biden, 80, shuffled into a seven-foot Brazilian flag, leaving it teetering slightly as he approached the podium. The president made a rambling speech about his 'economic vision to rebuild our economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down' while Lula watched on from his right flank.

Police returned articles of clothing to a Tanzanian fashion designer they obtained while executing a search warrant of disgraced ex-Department of Energy (DOE) official Sam Brinton's home. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Police Department confirmed the clothes were returned to Asya Khamsin, who has alleged Brinton publicly wore clothing she designed, but which was in her bag she reported missing at Ronald Reagan National Airport years ago. In May, MWAA police officers executed a search warrant in connection with the case at Brinton's Maryland residence.
