The left goes after every Republican AG. Sessions, a fool, recused himself. They threatened to impeach Barr, but he did nothing, so the left let him alone. Now, they are after Paxton, who brought a lot of anti-left actions. It is typical Texas politics, which is very nasty. I saw last weeks witnesses. They had no evidence when they went to the FBI . There are 3 claims for impeachment. One, Paxton did not pay for repairing his house. The defense has evidence he did, so that is out. Then, the claim he interfered in a charity lawsuit. Really? Then, he responded when a citizen asked him to investigate whether an FBI search was legally conducted. The claim is that Paxton interfered, because the citizen contributed 25K to his campaign in 2019. The guy referred to as Ranger testified the citizen was a criminal, but the Ranger admitted he never investigated anything. My impression from the witnesses: Jeff Materr-don't recall, cannot remember, relied on other people, had over 30,000 civil matters to attend to, not familiar with charitable foundations, half the AG office absent due to covid. Ryan Vassor-a lot of details, but nothing he did not know, including Paxton's side, which he never asked about. Ryan Bangert-very careful articulation, and pretense at knowing every statute, including the section and the subsections, but he never had the nerve to ask Paxton about anything. Then, there was the Ranger, who admitted he thought the citizen was a criminal, and he never intended to investigate anything, when he met with him. The Ranger should have retired 15 years ago, and it showed.

One witness admitted they didn't have anything so they called the FBI to try and find something . I'm not sure that Paxton is as pure as the wind driven snow, but this whole mess stinks to high heaven .

Paxton has terrific lawyers. Buzbee is brilliant - incredibly organized and relentlessly sends persecution witnesses into either blubbering or bullying. Bush, Rove & Co. found some petty little tyrants to do their dirty work. I hope the whole brood of them will slink away in shame, as they very well should. Ramona (the Pest)

The MAGA social media celebrity called up on stage by President Donald J. Trump at a 2018 rally told RedState when he saw South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem endorse Trump for president Friday night in Rapid City, he thought Noem gave Trump a huge boost. “What Noem's endorsement means for Trump,” said Brick Suit, “is at a time when many Republicans may be reluctant to endorse President Trump--because of the indictments that have been leveled against him—having a high-profile governor come out and make a full endorsement is basically putting everybody on notice.”

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — As the U.S. government built its latest stretch of border wall, Mexico made a statement of its own by laying remains of the Berlin Wall a few steps away. The 3-ton pockmarked, gray concrete slab sits between a bullring, a lighthouse and the border wall, which extends into the Pacific Ocean. “May this be a lesson to build a society that knocks down walls and builds bridges,” reads the inscription below the towering Cold War relic, attributed to Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero and titled, “A World Without Walls.”

Social media erupted after Dr. Anthony Fauci was confronted by a CNN host with a study showing face masks made little to no difference in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Conservative critics pounced on the former White House chief medical adviser after he acknowledged the masking study during the Saturday segment — while continuing to insist that, at an individual level, other research shows face coverings are effective at curtailing the spread of the virus. “When you’re talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong,” Fauci admitted to CNN’s Michael Smerconish.

Vice President Kamala Harris is renowned for hiring and firing speechwriters. Politico reported that Harris hired her third head speechwriter last November and her recent remarks suggest she may want to consider a fourth. Harris opened an August 28 White House teleconference by proclaiming, “It is good with — to be with you today to make an historic announcement.” Her historic announcement was that the Treasury Department released a report on why a chunk of their voter base is so awesome. According to Harris, “Union workers make our middle class and our entire economy more strong.” Truly epic stuff from Speechwriter #3.

Donald Trump says he will lock up his political enemies if he is president again. In an interview on Tuesday, the rightwing broadcaster Glenn Beck raised Trump’s famous campaign-trail vow to “lock up” Hillary Clinton, his opponent in 2016, a promise Trump did not fulfill in office.Beck said: “Do you regret not locking [Clinton] up? And if you’re president again, will you lock people up?” Trump said: “The answer is you have no choice, because they’re doing it to us.” Trump has encouraged the “lock her up” chant against other opponents but he remains in considerable danger of being locked up himself.

As we wait for the political show trials of Donald Trump to begin, it’s good to remember a hard and fast rule: Quotes and summaries of events reported by the corporate media are always either half wrong or deliberately misleading. A perfect example of that truism was provided this week by Axios’ Mike Allen, who claimed Monday that Georgia Democrat prosecutor Fani Willis included an “Easter egg” in her I’m-a-very-serious-lawyer indictment. Allen said that a specific portion of the documents had “a twist” that “could spoil” Trump’s legal team’s effort to have the entire case moved to federal court,

Emails obtained by the Heritage Foundation following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit and shared exclusively with The Federalist establish that on multiple occasions, the Department of Justice intervened on behalf of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss to respond to congressional inquiries related to the Hunter Biden investigation. This revelation raises more questions about the June 7, 2023, letter dispatched to House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan under Weiss’s signature line, in which the Delaware U.S. attorney claimed he had “ultimate authority” over charging decisions related to Hunter Biden. It also suggests Weiss and the DOJ may have conspired to mislead Congress.

Workers like Sharon Hechler are determined to maintain that special bond with the elderly, even as almost half of checkout lanes in the US are now automated. "Some allies of the president say his loyalty to his son — inviting him to state dinners, flying with him aboard Marine One and standing on the White House balcony with him — has resulted in wholly avoidable political distractions," the report continued.

This book is a poisonous political diatribe from beginning to end. King, America’s premier storyteller of the past 50 years, has never hidden his left-wing political bias. But before the mess that is Holly, King kept himself in check, never making politics central to his story nor demonizing those who do not share his ideology by using fact patterns unmoored from any sort of reality. The Democratic mayor of a small Massachusetts city is urging state lawmakers to reform a 40-year-old “right-to-shelter” law that is putting immense strain on the area as thousands of migrant families arrive. Woburn mayor Scott Galvin said by Friday there were about 150 families living in the city’s hotels, an arrangement he called unsustainable for his 40,000 constituents. Under the 1983 right-to-shelter law, Massachusetts officials are legally required to offer housing to any homeless families seeking shelter in the state. The law now covers a rising influx of migrant families, although individuals are not covered under its provisions.
