Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm set out on a four-day trip this summer. The trip was to prove the worth of the Biden administration's spending a ton on pushing and "investing" in electric vehicles.
NPR's Camila Domonoske went along on the trip and revealed, "Electric cars have a road trip problem, even for the secretary of energy."
What happened on the trip says everything about the Biden team's delusion and entitlement. The trip revealed immediately that the system is not ready to handle even what they have to deal with now, much less with the number of vehicles that you would have to cope with

Magical thinking is no substitute for reality, physics, or economics. Good thing it wasn't a sub-zero winter day.

Joe Biden and the crazed eco-terrorists wacko's are the only people in this country who don't already know that EV's are a pipe dream.

Try a trip in Montana, Wyoming or the Dakotas when it is 30+ Blow Zero and see if you can make it around the block.

Anyone with a brain knows you can't take a serious road trip in an EV, but then Granholm is only a notch or two behind Kamalamadingdong on the Stupid Meter.

Back in the early 1900s there were lots of EVs. They became extinct when ICE became available. It was a market driven change. The current switch to EVs is government driven. It might make sense if electricity could be produced cleanly. It can't. At least not in the levels that will be required. Today and for the foreseeable future electricity is generated in 3 ways: hydroelectric, nuclear, and burning fossil fuels. Wind and solar are a joke. There is enough fuel in the ground in North America to last us for thousands of years. This war on fossil fuels is insanity. So naturally the demoncraps want to shove it down our throats.

I left Michigan in 2006 because of Jennifer Granholm, although I say her last name a little saltier.
I knew the woman was a socialist then, and I always say calling someone a socialist is a polite way of saying Communist.
The current socialist Michigan has for a governor now is another dangerous woman.
God save us all.

One bright spot - she's Canadian-born and a naturalized citizen. (Of course, the communist-dems have already successfully ignored that Constitutional qualifier.)

Trump appointed some very poor people to be on his cabinet. But he doesn't hold a candle to the idiots FJB has on board. The only thing that would have made this better is if Mayor Pete and the he/she/it Sam Brinton had been there too. I see this as a comedy reality tv show. Just the "girls" going out on the road, escaping DC, swapping clothes and make up hints. And looking for an electric hookup while the others drivers just buzz on by. I see a lot of opportunity for humor. Of course nothing about this is funny but it is so disturbing these fools are actually in charge of anything. Maybe they could occasionally have a guest buddy for a ride along. I suggest the world famous, highly unqualified, black, lesbian who couldn't tell you what day of the week it is without looking through her notebook. There may be a time in our future that this will all work out but not today.

Where are the video's of the circus clowns piling out of the Granholm caravan of EVs? The FJB road show of clown cars should be on display 24/7. They could make it a pay-per-view.

So when I purchase an EV, I get a staff of people to drive ahead of me and reserve charging station bays? How much extra is that, or is it included in the sticker price?

Until EV's can charge to a "full" condition in the time it takes to pump gasoline into my ICE vehicle, there's no way in hell an EV will occupy my garage. Period, no joke.

#12, at least one of the Granholm convoy was a fossil fuel car. That is the one that they parked at the charging station to hold the spot for Granholm.

We will be getting in our vehicle a medium 4WD in literally 20 minutes and heading to Colorado, 700+ miles away, where we will have dinner at our cabin in the mountains.
That could NOT happen if we were forced into one of their damned pathetic electric contraptions.
I'll never have an EV.

This has nothing to do with the articles subject matter. Do writers get paid by word count? Nothing is more annoying than seeing the repeated article before every comment. Once is enough.
As for electric vehicles, what's with 'free' chargers? Someone is paying for the electricity coming to those chargers. And why do we not see all electric vehicles in Bidens motorcade?

It is not "hilarious". It is criminal and a misuse of taxpayer funds and demonstrates the totalitarian mind set of the Communist Death Democrats personified by the jug eared Jennifer Granholm's disastrous tenure as head of the Department of Energy which should be abolished and all employees sent to the unemployment line.
Not funny. This is another attempt to take away our freedom to travel anywhere we want to by car by destroying our Fossil Fuel based civilization. The communist death democrats are our mortal enemies and nothing they say or do is "hilarious". They are deadly serious. We must act accordingly.

EVs and the related 'climate change' nonsense isn't about climate at all. It's about control by limiting travel. Think of an invisible Berlin Wall around every urban center, and a government agency knows when you've breached it looking for an operating charger.

One of their ICE cars should have been towing a big diesel generator.

Thanks, but I'll keep my ICE vehicle. I can fill it up anywhere on a road trip and I don't need to reserve a spot while inconveniencing a family with a baby!!
