Hollywood studio Lionsgate is returning to mask mandates for many of its employees amid rising COVID-19 cases reported in Los Angeles.
In an internal email obtained by Deadline, response manager for Lionsgate/Starz Sommer McElroy said that employees at its flagship office in Santa Monica will be required to wear a medical grade face covering, such as a surgical mask a or a KN95 or N95 mask. Employees must wear the mask unless they are alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their work area, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace, according to the emailed memo.

Washington — The Secret Service arrested a Chicago woman Monday after prosecutors alleged she sent multiple menacing emails to a Florida school in which she threatened to kill former President Donald Trump and his teenage son, Barron, a law enforcement official confirmed to CBS News.
"I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity that I get," Tracy Fiorenza allegedly emailed the headmaster of a Palm Beach school on May 21, 2023, according to a criminal complaint filed earlier this month in Florida. Days later, court documents allege Fiorenza, 41, again emailed the unnamed school official, "I am going to slam

In what could be described as the worst-kept secret in politics, former President Donald Trump has decided he will not participate in the Republican presidential debates. He cited his commanding double-digit lead in Republican primary polls as the main reason for not participating. It would be the second presidential election cycle in which Trump broke tradition and skipped a debate. However, while the Trump campaign may think it’s a shrewd political maneuver, it’s actually self-destructive insofar as it establishes a precedent for President Joe Biden to skip debating Trump (assuming he is the GOP nominee) in the general election.

Eight Republicans have qualified for the party’s first 2024 presidential primary debate Wednesday night, the Republican National Committee announced Monday evening.
The list includes North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Former President Donald Trump – the clear front-runner in national and early state polls – has said he would skip the debate in Milwaukee and called on his rivals to drop out.

Former President Donald Trump is displaying his "sense of entitlement" by deciding to not participate in the 2024 GOP presidential primary debates, according to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Sunday that he would "not be doing" any of the Republican debates, while boasting that "the public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had." The former president previously indicated that he would be skipping the first debate, which is set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday.
The decision to skip the debates quickly drew condemnation from Trump critics

As we reported earlier, Joe Biden has finally made it to Maui to speak about the disaster that took place almost two weeks ago. He's meeting with some of the victims and first responders, and he also has made some brief remarks in Lahaina.
Protesters met him at the airport with signs, excoriating him and saying, "He should've been here much earlier," "It's too late," and "Actions speak louder than words." People even had a sign out in front of their home in Kehei reading "Traitor Joe Must Go." As we noted earlier, the White House is trying to sell that they have been involved since

A new Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll has been released. Likely Iowa caucusgoers put Donald Trump in the lead, with his percentage growing by 5 points after the Georgia indictment was announced.
Trump has a more than 2-to-1 lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the number two candidate in polls. Take all polls at this point with a grain or three of salt, as the Iowa caucuses are the first test for Republican presidential primary candidates. The Iowa caucuses are five months away, a lifetime in politics.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has reached a bond agreement with one of former President Donald Trump’s 18 co-defendants: conservative attorney John Eastman, according to a new court filing on Monday.
Eastman’s $100,000 bond order is the first to appear on the Fulton county court website.
Eastman faces multiple criminal charges for his alleged role in helping Trump try to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
All of the 19 defendants in the case who were indicted last week, including Trump, are expected to turn themselves in this week ahead of a Friday deadline set by Willis. Attorneys for defendants in the Trump case are expected to negotiate

Fulton County, Ga., Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee signed off on an order on Monday, setting Donald Trump’s bond at $200,000 and ordering the former president to refrain from intimidating witnesses or his co-defendants as he awaits trial on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election. (Read the order below).
Trump’s bail conditions are very strict and specific. Trump is forbidden to “intimidate any person known to him or her to be a codefendant or witness in this case or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice.” That includes no direct or indirect threats against codefendants, witnesses, victims, the unindicted con-conspirators, or “against the community

Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) said Monday on CNN’s “Inside Politics” that former President Donald Trump can not win the presidential election in November 2024 because his ceiling of popularity is at 45%.
Sununu said, “So one of the key points of that poll showed that about a third of Trump supporters would consider somebody else. When you look at the favorable/unfavorable of all the different candidates DeSantis is better than former President Trump, Tim Scott has strong numbers. Other candidates are showing strong numbers.”
He continued, “I think we all agree the former president’s floor is high, 32, 33, 34%, but his ceiling is also very low. Realistically

Near-miss collisions between planes have made headlines in recent months, but the startling incidents have been happening far more frequently than previously thought, a New York Times investigation found.
On average, there have been multiple airline close calls per week so far this year, the report says. In July, there were at least 46 near-miss incidents involving commercial airlines, according to Federal Aviation Administration safety reports reviewed by the Times.
Earlier this month, a Southwest Airlines flight and a private jet came within 100 feet of one another on a San Diego runway, sparking two federal investigations. Just a few weeks prior, a flight attendant was injured after an Allegiant Air flight
