Leah Remini announced she has filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and its leader David Miscavige for harassment, stalking, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress in addition to other unlawful conduct. The 53-year-old actress revealed in a Twitter post she had filed the lawsuit and linked to her Substack, where she shared a press release accusing the defendants of "mob-style operations and attacks" on her and other alleged victims. The "King of Queens" star became a Scientologist at 9 years old but left the church in 2013 and has since become an outspoken critic. The Clinton Administration gave the CoS--it's an unholy cult, not a church--its religious tax exemption. Do you suppose Miscavige might have made a donation to the Clinton Foundation or Clinton Global Initiative? Just a tiny one? Leah Remini is a brave lady whose series (Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath) was informative and utterly damning. I salute her and those who stood with her. The article ends thus: "Miscavige, 62, was nowhere to be found in December when multiple attempts were made to serve him with a child trafficking lawsuit filed by three former Scientology members that names him as a defendant. According to court documents filed at the time, process servers attempted to serve papers to Miscavige 27 different times over the past few months. In February, U.S. Magistrate Judge Julie S. Sneed ruled Miscavige was 'actively concealing his whereabouts or evading service' and declared that he had been officially served, according to the Tampa Bay Times." Miscavige is almost as good at hiding as L. Ron Hubbard was. Apparently, he has something to hide from. When (if) he goes down, the CoS might go down with him. No one in downtown Clearwater will miss them. And check the Clinton's donors.

Go get 'em, Leah! I loved every minute of her series about this cult, and felt she was so brave to go after it head-on. It was informative and shocking, and I highly recommend taking a look. I had no idea what went on with that group until Leah exposed the horror. Hearing firsthand what former members shared with her was eye-opening, and I could begin to understand the fear that they lived with. Her visit to the town of Clearwater was like being in another universe...or maybe a scene from "The Twilight Zone".

L. ron Hubbard's scam has run far longer than even that crooked nutcase could have imagined. Dangerous, dangerous people - but in the end, just another garden variety cult scam, just with richer suckers, and therefore more money to suppress anyone who dares point out that they are a cult and a scam.

The C.O.S. is all about the benjamins. How many payments do you have to miss before they come looking for you? A Lutheran church in California hit my sister up for cash after her husband died! Grapevine report is, that congregation dropped Lutheran from their name, or had it forcibly removed by some synod.

Former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin is speaking out and revealing his side of the story after then Vice President Joe Biden demanded he be fired back in 2016. (Snip) At the time of his firing, Shokin was investigating corruption at Ukrainian gas company Burisma -- the same company that was paying Hunter Biden $80,000 per month to sit on the board. During closed door testimony in front of the House Oversight Committee earlier this week, Hunter Biden's former business partner -- Devon Archer -- said he believed Burisma would have gone under if not for the Biden "brand" -- including Joe Biden -- being attached to the company.

There is a fascinating passage in Rising Star, David Garrow’s comprehensive biography of Barack Obama’s early years, in which the historian examines Obama’s account in Dreams from My Father of his breakup with his longtime Chicago girlfriend, Sheila Miyoshi Jager. In Dreams, Obama describes a passionate disagreement following a play by African American playwright August Wilson, in which the young protagonist defends his incipient embrace of Black racial consciousness against his girlfriend’s white-identified liberal universalism. As readers, we know that the stakes of this decision would become more than simply personal: The Black American man that Obama wills into being in this scene would go on to marry

On his deathbed, my friend’s grandfather (I’ll call him Matis) revealed how, as a Lithuanian, he was forced to enroll in a pro-Nazi para-military group shortly after the Nazi occupation of his small town near Vilnius. He referred to this group as the “Lithuanian Rifles.” As a Nazi officer pointed out, his other options were to become a Social Democrat or a communist, and the Nazis didn’t care for these people. Social Democrats were sent to camps, and communists were shot. FACT-O-RAMA! Vilnius was part of Poland until Stalin took over and made it part of Lithuania once again. The Biden regime has an ever-lengthening record of opposition to the freedom of speech: the abortive Disinformation Governance Board, the Twitter Files revelations that regime apparatchiks pressured Twitter to remove dissenting tweets, the weaponization of the “Justice” Department against the regime’s principal opponent, and on and on. It thus comes as no surprise that the regime pressured Facebook, as well as Twitter, to remove posts that dissented from its line on COVID-19. What’s striking is that the regime even hassled Zuckerberg’s wonks to take down jokes making fun of the regime’s line on the COVID vaccines. The serial indictments and investigations of former President Trump are meant to rig the 2024 presidential election, but the latest indictment is unique in rigging even its aftermath. Previous indictments of the former president had broken all sorts of new legal ground by turning misdemeanors into felonies and deciding that the statute of limitations is just a suggestion, but the Jan 6 indictment by Democrat special counsel Jack Smith criminalizes election challenges. Or at least election challenges against Democrats. And along with that, all political dissent. The Jan 6 indictment contends that Trump’s election challenges were a crime. What does this latest indictment offer that the previous indictments did not?

Many white conservative writers would prefer to avoid writing about the topic of race relations. I’m one of them. One reason is that many white conservatives have or have had black friends, and there is often that underlying feeling that a discussion about race could put those friendships on uneasy ground. And of course, any time a conservative puts pen to paper or takes to a keyboard to tackle the issue, they are automatically accused of being racist. Then again, a conservative could write about a recipe for a tuna casserole and be accused of being racist. So I guess that point is moot.

The foundation of a free society is, of course, self-government, and the foundation of self-government is when the citizens of that society, via the electoral process, choose who governs them. Therefore, it is essential not only for elections to be fair and competitive but, more importantly, that there is a perception that they are fair. In the United States, this is no longer the case, but the Supreme Court has cleared the path for eradicating the worst fraud and changing the perception. Both elected officials and unelected bureaucrats often refuse to maintain voter rolls properly while suggesting that non-citizens be permitted to vote. Special counsel Jack Smith made history on Tuesday. It wasn't just the federal indictment of a former president. Smith already did that in June with the indictment of Donald Trump on charges that he mishandled classified documents. No, Smith and his team have made history in the worst way by attempting to fully criminalize disinformation by seeking the incarceration for a politician on false claims made during and after an election. The hatred for Trump is so all-encompassing that legal experts on the political left have ignored the chilling implications of this indictment. This complaint is based largely on statements that are protected under the First Amendment.

So a Democratic Party operative has once again indicted Donald Trump on transparently foolish grounds. The result of the Democrats’ seeming obsession with Trump is that he continues to dominate headlines and suck up oxygen nearly three years after he lost the presidential race in 2020. This is truly extraordinary. Did Jimmy Carter dominate headlines in 1983, years after he was thrashed by Ronald Reagan? Was Walter Mondale a fixture in the press in 1987, after being clobbered by Reagan in 1984? Were the papers full of commentary on Michael Dukakis in 1991, three years after he was obliterated by George H.W. Bush? How about John McCain and Mitt Romney?

Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.
