WASHINGTON − President Joe Biden plans to announce "new actions to protect student loan borrowers," the White House said Friday, after the Supreme Court overturned his signature program to eliminate up to $20,000 in student loan debt for millions of Americans. The court's 6-3 decision dashed the hopes of 26 million people who applied for student loan cancellation since Biden took the action last August, putting pressure on the Biden to find other ways for debt relief. "While we strongly disagree with the court, we prepared for this scenario. The president will have more to say today," a White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said.

Bla, Bla, Bla! Biden knew all along he didn't have the power to eliminate those Loans, he was just making himself Mr. Big! Didn't work. Now all those Losers who wanted the rest of us to pay off their Loans can get off their dead Ass and start paying the loan they signed up for! Too bad if a Four Year College Degree didn't actually get you a better job than working at Starbucks! Maybe you should have changed your Major! Or maybe you should agree to work a 40 hour week and not demand you be allowed to work at home in your jammies! We have no sympathy for you! Grow up!

Having been in the US Senate for decades Biden had to know that his so-called student loan forgiveness plan was unconstitutional from the get-go. Therefore if you have been paying attention, it is evident that instead, the Biden plan was actually a Biden and Democrat vote buying plan thrown out there before the mid-term election.

I expect Biden to extend the pause on student loan repayments. Until Biden and the democrats are ousted, student loan deadbeats won’t have to make another payment. Perpetual forbearance is de facto forgiveness.

Sure. Have a Democrat colleague in the house minority submit a bill outlining what you want. Get it passed (probably not) in the house, send it to the Senate, get it passed there too (also probably not) and then sign the bill as approved by the US Congress in accordance with Article 1 and 2 of the US Constitution. Easy Peasy.

Borrowers (by definition) don't need protection. It's not their money at stake. They "borrowed" it. The lenders need protection from having their money stolen.

I was curious about the extent Joe's knowledge, and I came onto this: "In 1968, Biden earned a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, ranked 76th in his class of 85, after failing a course due to an acknowledged "mistake" when he plagiarized a law review article for a paper he wrote in his first year at law school. #6 is correct. They will try extending the loan payment pause again and again. It won't look good because the original excuse was the Wuhan Flu "pandemic" which is well and truly over in spite of what the lying Dems might claim. I put four through college with one or two small home equity loans. We ate cheap, drove old cars and didn't take a vacation for 8 years. The Israeli military deployed thousands of troops and drones in an attack on a Palestinian militant stronghold in the West Bank on Sunday night. Military officials expect the roughly 2,000 troops to remain in the West Bank city of Jenin for up to 48 hours after launching the operation. Palestinian officials say at least eight people were killed and 50 were wounded in the attack, which was larger than any operation Israel has carried out this year. Sec. State Blinken ordered this review of the department’s response to the Afghanistan withdrawal. The result is critical of both President Trump and President Biden saying they failed to plan appropriately for the withdrawal. The report is sharply critical of the U.S. government’s handling of the most serious evacuation crisis since the fall of Saigon. It says President Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump, each failed to appreciate how a U.S. military pullout would affect the Afghan government’s stability, and that standard summer diplomatic rotations in the weeks ahead of Kabul’s collapse left the U.S. evacuation in the hands of personnel who in some cases had been in the country

The Supreme Court ruled President Joe Biden can't wipe away or reduce student loans held by millions of Americans. In a 6-3 decision, the high court's conservative justices agreed with the suing states that the HEROES Act does not authorize Biden's debt forgiveness plan. At issue was whether the administration had authority to broadly cancel federal student loans because of the COVID-19 emergency. Loan payments that have been on hold since the start of the coronavirus pandemic three years ago are supposed to resume no later than this summer. Without the loan relief promised by the Biden plan, the administration’s top Supreme Court lawyer said, “delinquencies and defaults will surge.”
