WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday ruled in favor of an evangelical Christian web designer from Colorado who refuses to work on same-sex weddings.
The justices, divided 6-3, said that Lorie Smith, as a creative professional, has a free speech right under the Constitution’s First Amendment to refuse to endorse messages she disagrees with. As a result, she cannot be punished under Colorado’s antidiscrimination law for refusing to design websites for gay couples, the court said. The ruling could allow other similar business owners to evade punishment under laws in 29 states that protect LGBTQ rights in public accommodations in some form. The remaining

An excellent ruling. But it won't stop the LGBTQIA+++BINGO fascists from trying to destroy business owners who refuse to bow to Baal.

Slowly, steadily this court is undoing much of the evil that the Left has imposed on Americans.
More good news in another year of good SCOTUS news.

Good! ! It is about time SCOTUS protected small business. I do decorated clothing, decals, etc. and there are some things I just won't make and I should have that right. If it offends me, I shouldn't have to make it. If it goes against my beliefs, I shouldn't have to make it.

I'd wish the web designer 'Good Luck'. The Colorado baker has had to endure repeated legal assaults despite the SC ruling on his behalf.

The First Amendment says (paraphrasing) you can't use government to force someone to follow your religion or belief system. The idea that this decision allows similar businesses to "evade" punishment is ridiculous. Those businesses are being protected from illegal legislative actions.

Will this ruling have any effect on the florist who wouldn’t decorate for a gay wedding or similar cases?

This is the second time the Colorado Civil Rights Commission has had its arse handed to it by the Supremes. We should work to get rid of this bunch of stooges.

If there is that much business needed for LGBTQ - ABC requests I suggest someone open businesses that cater to their wants. Oh, wait, that isn't the issue. The issue was to be a pain in the ass.

Time for the Supreme Court to put a stop to this persecution of people who want nothing to do with the LGBTXXX community. If the Court would rule the LGBT Crowd must PAY the Attorney Fees if they lose their Case, I'm guessing there would be a lot less of these people trying to ruin a Business just to make an example of them! Enough! They need a consequence if they ruin someone's Livelihood and cost them Thousands of dollars!

This had nothing to do with designing websites, this had nothing to do with a wedding cake but had all to do with trampling conservative and religious beliefs. Just like gay marriage wasn't about gay marriage, it was all about destroying the sanctity of marriage, no matter what your religion was. This is what they do, they destroy. That is their agenda. Got it.

My business. I own it! I don't have to work for someone I don;t want to. FOR ANY REASON! But the Federal government has to work for the taxpayer. We own the government. Someone should tell the government that.

I’m wondering why the people who are whining and complaining about today’s excellent rulings, move to another country that might given in to them. Maybe it’s because they will be treated worse elsewhere?

Walk into a bakery run by gays and ask for a cake with a quote from the bible about homosexuality and see what happens.
