Over in Europe, we’ve seen climate protesters engage in ridiculous and destructive behavior to get their message across. These misguided zealots have glued themselves to the floor of venues and attempted to deface or destroy priceless pieces of art and landmarks in order to try to convince Europeans to plunge headlong even more quickly into “green energy” chaos. A trio of protesters tried to invade the field at the Ashes Test, a cricket tournament between England and Australia, at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Wednesday. “The first morning of the second Ashes Test at Lord’s was briefly disrupted by two climate change protesters from the activist group Just Stop Oil,

If I were that cop escorting the female protester, I'd say "Here, sweetheart; this van is powered by petrol (evil oil) which will carry you to the pokey. There, you can eat with a plastic fork which also comes from oil!"

I've got to say, those British police officers have nice uniforms. I don't know how much they enjoy wearing a tie, but they look neat and all business. Nothing wrong with our US officers, just mentioning how nice the British look.

These deluded fools want to 'save the planet' - but for WHOM? Adopting their policies would pauperize most people in developed countries, and wipe out millions in developing countries. If these clowns truly want to lower the global carbon footprint, let them put their money where their mouth is and go and preach their Gaia religion in China, India and Russia. What sort of a reception would they experience, I wonder? Let them march in Tiananmen Square in Beijing! And so, nevermore, will we see you again.

#7 mentions rugby. When I was a first year man--not freshman!--at UVa, bumper stickers were abundant in the Scott Stadium parking lot (where many students parked) that read either "Give blood, play rugby" or "It takes leather balls to play rugby." Since the legal system refuses to punish Green Luddites, they ought to be subjected to physical punishment--such as whipping--in places where it's legal.

In politics today, the biggest rock star remains Donald Trump and it is not even close. At the “Faith and Freedom” conference last weekend, President Trump received thunderous applause. When one of his rivals for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, criticized him, he was loudly booed. In contrast, when North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, a rising GOP star, endorsed Trump, the crowd cheered and rose to their feet. Among Americans, Trump is the main attraction, the candidate with the most support and the unquestioned leader in the 2024 race for the White House. According to the latest Harvard

The Condescender-in-Chief is at it again. Just weeks after Barack Obama — the descendent of Africans and white people — dared to criticize Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) — the descendent of actual slaves and a son of the state where the Civil War started — for being optimistic about the state of race in America today, the former president weighed in on what he thinks spurs on “right-wing populism.” In an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN, Obama said, “It’s very hard to sustain a democracy when you have such massive concentrations of wealth.” He went on to blather about “ladders of opportunity” and a “stronger safety net” before concluding that

Diversity and its cousins, inclusion and equity, are woke America’s new guiding principles. Sports, education, media, government, military, and big business are all in on the “DEI” mantra. Rearrange the letters from DEI to DIE. Is that a more fitting acronym for where this recent liberal push may lead? There is nothing wrong with diversity, as long as that extends to all aspects of humanity. Why only diversity of skin color and gender? Are those the only determinants of diversity? We’ve long been critical of Hollywood’s lack of fresh, new ideas and its apparent fascination with rebooting past films or giving us a sequel decades later. Sadly, merely paying homage to the original material is insufficient. Instead, producers opt to incorporate “wokeness,” believing it will be more appealing to modern viewers, but in the process, they end up taking something beloved and turning it into garbage that the masses don’t want to see. The latest example is Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, the prequel series to the 1978 hit film Grease. I’m not sure who wanted this — it’s bad enough to hear any of the original songs

Social media hasn’t been around for very long, but the truth of what is have revealed about so many people has been transformative and leads to the basic, but important, question: Did social media inspire people to become awful trolls, or did it just give a megaphone to expose so many people truly horrible? It’s the chicken and the egg and, like that question, the answer doesn’t really matter, the end result is what we have to deal with no matter what. Never one to use an honest argument when a dishonest one will do, Kamala Harris is out stumping for abortion on the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. Fox News summed up how bad it was: She began, saying, "So that day, the day that the Supreme Court took the constitutional right from the women of America, and I was outraged. In fact the first person I called was my husband because I could just let it all out with him." Harris mentioned how she felt fear for the younger generation of women, including her daughter and her nieces. She continued,

The World Health Organization (WHO), funded primarily by the CCP and Bill Gates tag team, has been very busy getting its so-called “pandemic treaties” into place, which in effect hand over national control of a state’s public health response to unaccountable multinational bureaucrats — whose interests, not unimportantly, are not shared by the populations over which they exercise authority. Relatedly, the WHO also succeeded recently in instituting “vaccine passports” across the European Union. Dovetailing with both of those projects of social control is the organization’s declaration of war on something called an “infodemic.”

Nonetheless, the event shows that woke D.I.E. (diversity, inclusion, equity) initiatives may now be starting to live up to its macabre-tinged acronym. And as for all the "uninspiring" 50-year-old white men out there, even ChatGPT

The Supreme Court has ruled that it is unlawful for colleges and universities to use race as a factor in admissions, overturning rulings from as far back as 1978 that claimed institutions of higher education had a valid interest in promoting racial diversity on campus and could thus give favorable consideration to black and Latino applicants in their admissions process. Two separate decisions were reached in which the nation’s highest court ruled that Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill engaged in unlawful discriminatory practices based on race that violated the Constitution.

The court struck down racial preferences in college admissions that could not meet the “strict scrutiny” standards of the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment.

This is the fourth round of layoffs since ownership of the title changed in 2015. Disney took over in 2019 after the Fox deal; the National Geographic Society remains a minority partner.

In the decades during which I have followed politics and social issues, I have seen passionate disagreements among Americans. The Vietnam War was the focus of massive protests. Legalized abortion, after Roe v. Wade, was followed by bombings. Racial integration was accompanied by murders by racist militants. Unenforced laws, including immigration and retail theft, have left us feeling betrayed by our government. The list goes on. Somehow, we survived. Then came the transsexual movement, complete with "drag-queen story hours" for young children. Some of those children have become the victims of surgical mutilation.
