DENVER — Denver City Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca is suggesting a new tax on white-owned businesses to fund racial reparations to minority-owned businesses. CdeBaca advocated for race-based taxation, which would almost certainly prompt constitutional challenges, at a Thursday forum before the Greater Metro Denver Ministerial Alliance. fta: “This is the third time CdeBaca has been targeted by a white nationalist mob, and this is part of a concerted playbook to harass, intimidate, and silence progressives and in particular, marginalized communities,” CdeBaca’s office said in a written statement. “I will not be silenced by the far-right playbook,” CdeBaca said in the written statement. “A nuanced discussion about reparations is necessary, but that opportunity has been taken from us by the right-wing outrage machine. This kind of discussion is not going to happen in this media landscape.” --- So "far right" and "white nationalist" is now being outspokenly against discriminating on the basis of skin tone. So thus by contrast "far-left" and the BIPOC mob now means being a blatant authoritarian racist who wishes to fiscally punish people whose skin tone is different. You can put a whole tube of lipstick on that pig of an agenda.. but it's still racist Ms CdeBaca and you are a racist too!!

CdeBaca. It's an abbreviation for "Cabeza de Vaca", a surname that literally means "head of a cow." So is Ms. "Capitalism was built on stolen land, stolen labors, and stolen resources” any relation to Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, one of the Conquisidors who tore a swath along the Gulf Coast in the 1520s, from what would later be Tampa to Texas, and was later involved in "pacifying" places in South America. (And how WERE things going in Colorado from the 1520s to 1848, under non-capitalistic Spain and then Mexico?) There was no capitalism (or English speakers) involved there, although there was a fair amount of stolen land, labor and resources going on. Whether CdeBaca is related to ole Cabeza de Vaca or not, it seems maybe some Spanish-surnamed-led businesses could do with a little extra taxation, too.

WASHINGTON— President Joe Biden predicted Tuesday that the U.S.-Mexico border would be “chaotic for a while” when pandemic-related restrictions end, as 550 active-duty troops began arriving and migrants weighed whether or when to cross. The restrictions have been in place since 2020, and allowed U.S. officials to quickly return migrants over the border. They are ending later this week and the U.S. is putting into place a set of new policies that will clamp down on illegal crossings while offering migrants a legal path to the United States if they apply online through a government app, have a sponsor and pass background checks.
