Trump rejects GOP presidential candidate debates

Original Article

Posted By: Magnante, 4/26/2023 8:04:15 AM

I am dismayed that Donald Trump seems to be adopting the tactics of the Biden-dominated DNC and rejecting the opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates for their parties’ nomination in a presidential debate. In a post on Truth Social, he writes: I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them. When you’re leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, TRUMP & MAGA hating anchors asking the “questions,” why subject yourself to being libeled and abused?

Trump is right. He was already President and his policy positions are known by the entire world. There is no upside to lowering himself to debate a bunch of wannabes.

Troll tactic by the master. The MSM will be all over the audacity of Trump declaring no need for Republican primaries while ironically ignoring the hypocrisy of the pResident doing the same and hiding in his proverbial basement until the next installation.

The RNC is full of Never Trumpers. There's no upside for Trump to attend something they sponsor. Like with the White House Correspondents' Dinner, he wisely declines to participate.

If I throw my hat in the ring to get some publicity for my pizza joint can I get up on stage with Trump? I'm a candidate, a viable candidate, you know. Or do I have to have something more substantial than a pizza joint to be a viable candidate? Like be a spokesperson for big pharma?

Trump isn't wrong. Look what he's been through over the last seven years with the media. Why give them the chance to lie and mislead one more time. The last debate had a Fox News anchor and it still ended up as get Trump questioning. Trump does enough rallies where he speaks his mind, that having a debate is useless. If the media and people don't get where Trump is coming from, then they haven't been paying attention. It still comes down to the question Reagan posed years ago. " Are you better off now than you were four years ago"?

There is no need for debates: Trump calls out his enemies' policies in public appearances, interviews, and the like. He also talks about his own agenda in the same venues. What would a debate accomplish? What he said would be lied about anyway, as usual.

Televised presidential debates have morphed into a racket with little more than a means to score cheap shot tactical points/sound bytes during a campaign. The endless primary debates are useless. The general election debates are hardly any better; trained seals in the audience, lousy questions from the panel and hopelessly biased moderators that favor dems. Granted, I'd love to see Trump mop the floor in an unmoderated debate against ol' Joe but that's not gonna happen.

Trump never said he wouldn't do them. He said no one talked to him or his campaign. When the frontrunner is both the former president AND the runaway poll favorite, that candidate deserves the respect of being drawn into the conversation. Romney's niece treats him like he's riff raff. So what do you expect him to do? Roll over and take it? You obviously don't know Donald Trump. He's right. Treat him accordingly.

I'm really disappointed in Thomas Lifson. I usually like the stuff he writes. But, suggesting that Trump will not debate because he is too "big" and well known, really Thomas! We know the Rubenesque Ronna McDaniel is a never Trumper and hates MAGA. So, she and Rhino Deep Staters will ensure the deck is stacked against Trump in any debate, primary or general election. Trump knows this and given the outrageous behavior of the so-called debate moderators in 2016 and especially 2020, Trump is absolutely correct in saying he won't participate in what would be mini impeachment and J6 TV extravaganza hearings. While I think it is the so-called "independent" Debate Commission that sets up these debates, there is some interaction with the political parties. So, I don't think it is unheard of that the political parties consult with their candidates, especially the front runners and out of respect for his position, a former successful president, on debate formats, venues or moderators. So, again Trump is correct. Now, if Ronna would only put down the gluten and sugar free donuts (she has lost some weight along with the face lift, meow) she might actually try to come up with a format, at a venue where the 45th President actually might not be sacrificed and a really great debate between whomever primaries Trump can take place. Imagine including debate moderators like Victor Davis Hanson, Gordon Chang, Julie Kelly, and others to balance out the Never Trumpers and corporate media hacks. There are ways to structure a really good debate for all to see, but it takes independence, will and intelligence and we know there ain't none of that at the RNC.

President Trump is all about negotiating. He didn't say he wouldn't participate. He truthfully stated that he had not been consulted and that he expects the RNC to do so. He's got a point and I'm sure all will be worked out. He likes, and needs, attention as a candidate.

FTA (Trump social media post): "I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them." Trump joined the Republican Party, not the other way around; however, I've no doubt his loyal fans would vote for him as a democrat if he chose to switch parties again. Getting a candidate's approval to hold debates is a new wrinkle that reeks of deep seated narcissism with a touch of cowardice, which is very Biden-esque and not exactly boast-worthy.

#11, Today’s debates do not resemble anything like the debates in the past. This was a political strategy by Ronna McDaniel. She disrespected the guy leading the pack. Now how smart is that? She is a never-Trumper and should not be trusted. Despite the success President Trump had while in office, they don’t believe it was the “right” success. He curtailed the benefits that naturally flow to the Rinos and surprisingly it went to we the people, small businesses, the military, and all those forgotten people Rino’s deplore. Even though Trump’s agenda was good for the country in general, it certainly upset their corrupt little applecart. Between the democrats and Rino’s along with every leftist institution in the country, Trump is going to be dismissed. These greedy, corrupt, anti-American leftists will do anything to prevent him from victory because he did what he promised and this time around he is promising to destroy these depraved totalitarians who believe in nothing but themselves and have caused the biggest disaster in the country’s history. These people are happy to kill the goose that laid the golden egg of freedom and prosperity because their godless policies require the destruction of our founding ethos in favor of secular humanism.

A scorched earth campaign against Tucker Carlson has been anticipated, and the first leak of behind-the-scenes video has dropped, fed to Soros-funded Media Matters, which long has been trying to get both Carlson and Fox News silenced. Someone with access to the video feed from Tucker Carlson’s home studios has leaked a video that they must have expected to be damaging to the former top-rated host, but which really damages the streaming video service, Fox Nation. If Carlson is to be blamed, it would be for being frank and honest in a private conversation.
