Houston will host a series of 'large-scale' nuclear training drills this week as the military war games the unthinkable.
The FBI has warned residents of Harris County and southeast Houston that 'multi-agency' exercises will be carried out from Monday to Friday to simulate a nuclear attack.
The agency reassured the public there was no need to be alarmed by the presence of 'military personnel and aircraft, and people in protective equipment'.It comes amid growing threats from North Korea and Russia and analysis that shows a missile from Pyongyang could kill around 130,000 people if dropped on Houston.

If the FBI was involved, I assume that this was for some nefarious purpose, not the stated purpose.

What about suitcase nukes brought across the border? How many possible terrorists get past the open southern border carrying who knows what?

In other words, more Chinese "weather" balloons could be mistakenly coming our way.

I'd be willing to compose a priority list of cities for consideration.

If there is a nuke strike, there will be no one, or anything left. And if there were any survivors, the medics will be needed, not the FBI.

Interesting that the OTC is in town this week as well. A premier event for the oil and gas industry. There are a lot of players in town. (Offshore Technology Conference)

Baloney, #7. You've been watching too many silly TV movies.
A single large nuke, even at optimal altitude rather than ground level like a terrorist nuke, would have a "high probability of death" radius of about 6 miles.
Since Houston is about 45 to 50 miles across, huge numbers would survive the blast, and if they then left immediately after the blast, they'd survive the fallout, too, if they went crosswind or upwind.

As I recall the bidet gave Putin a list what type of attacks would not be acceptable
I reckon he told Putin and Kim that Houston is an acceptale target for a nuclear attack. Perhaps he could add Austin to the target list.

Is there nothing the FBI can't do? Why don't they focus on catching bank robbers, you know, real criminals. Local law enforcement is critical in such disasters: man-made or natural. We don't need a national law enforcement agency involved. And BTW - so now the FBI is law enforcement when for the last two decades they've been focused on intelligence and in particular counter intel - which gave us the Pater Strozk.

My guess is Obama is sending the next level of mass annihilation weapons to the Ukraine in a last ditch effort to protect the oligarchs and the political elites money laundering scam. With out armaments depleted Obama knows the hits on U.S. soil will be devastating. And Democrats propagandists had the elected President getting us into a war? Fools!

Just find some of those 1950s school desks from the "duck-and-cover" drills to hide under. They were nuke-proof...

I'm seeing a pattern here and putting it all together. Events are unfolding, notice Fox fires Tucker Carlson, Unkraine is priority, planning for possible war or attack on our homeland. The communist democrats can't have another pandemic so a nuclear attack to make us stay home and inside voting with paper ballots or possible cancel the 2024 election while Joe the Cadaver remains CIC. Trump is forever neutralized because of his age. Things are being set in place for another 'steal' count on it the left never rests.

Baloney, #11. If you have watched what happens when hurricanes approach you know that people will not be escaping. Traffic will be jammed up, and looters will be looting living people. Electricity will be out, so no food and especially no water. During summer, tens of thousands in Houston would die of heat stroke. The blast would take out a lot larger area than you described anyway. I watch your quotes because I learn a lot from you, but this time #7 is right. You can bet your last dollar that there would be more than one nuke hit Houston because there are far too many defense capabilities for any enemy to take a chance on a dud bomb.

I know all the positions to use if a nuke hit. I practiced them for about a week in Oct. 1962. Of course, now, I don't know how tight my tuck would be, and that sleeping position would be out of the question. My back doesn't bend that way anymore.

At work I'm on the north side of the 19th floor in a glass building in the Houston Galleria area. I'm resigned to the knowledge that it'll be quick and painful.
