Bud Light’s Demise at the Hands of Credentialed

Early in my professional career, an experienced colleague shared with me a bit of advice. “If you sell people what they want to buy,” he said, “you’ll have a very successful career. If you sell people what you think they want to buy, you might still be successful. But if you sell people what you want to sell them, you’ll fail miserably.” (snip) Yet this lesson apparently isn’t taught at The Wharton School of Finance, where Bud Light marketing VP Alissa Heinerscheid earned a Master of Business Administration degree, and where tuition and supplies alone will run you $250K for its two-year MBA program.

An excellent summation of the idiocy coming out of business schools. I often wonder if the professors have ever produced anything other than hot air.

I think #3 makes an important point about the power we each have. My choices are impactful when they're in conjunction with many others doing the same. I refer back to an earlier thread about the reception for the Koreans, attended by Chip and Jo Gaines. Their Magnolia Network is on my banned list. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

Back during my working years, I always wondered about the efficacy of the MBA degree. As time went on, I noticed that the executives in middle and upper management who lacked an MBA, but started at the bottom and worked their way up, were the most savvy and down-to-earth. The guys who got “plugged in” in the middle of the corporate ladder because of their MBA’s were the ones who you had to watch out for - they always gave the impression, through cliches and doublespeak, that they were trying to put one over on you. Some things never change.

This will rank as a classic case of how a business can fail to understand its market and will become a business school teaching example. But the biggest thing is that all these manly beer drinkers do not want to be told they really like feminized homosexual men. That expressly will not be told to me by a male who wants me to court, what, Her, Him, It? And by sone one who is really a man. The whole Woke sex thing makes me want never to drink any beer, and never to see a transvestite smiling at me from the beer can in my hand and on my mouth. Ugh! The whole marketing premise is a sexual fraud. And it stinks.

Incompetent folks with "big deal" degrees from formerly good universities which put out legions of incapable, brainwashed but "credentialed" fools are going to be one of our biggest problems. It's a perfect way for the embedded Communists to entirely cripple ALL the systems of the USA.

Politicians better learn from this. The government is refusing to pay damages on adverse Covid Vaccine reactions. Since it is becoming more and more evident that those vaccines didn't even reach the quality of a snake oil salesman's stock in trade. Running them out of town on a rail will be a kind fate compared to what's in store for them. Today, Bud Light, tomorrow, Nike and Maybelline, soon, the uniparty and their medical quacks.

I think one of the unstated effects of these credentialed millennials is that they spread like a virus. They may fail at one corporation only to find a new "opportunity" through their network of alumni and friends. In high school I worked in a garage and one of the fellows who dropped in occasionally worked for the Rolls Royce and Bentley companies. His only job was to arrange transportation, in box trucks, to repair shops for any of their cars that were inoperable. Rolls and Bentley never wanted the public to see one of their vehicles towed. That would destroy their image. You can sure bet that when the Wharton catalogue comes out they won't celebrate their graduates who managed to destroy a brand nor point out the faculty members who mentored them.

As Fox News moves leftward, CNN, the sick man of cable news, just aired a segment that would hearten any alienated FNC viewers that happened to catch it. Is this a portent of things to come? The New York Post reports on the confrontation that must have shocked Randi Weingarten, the head of the AFT who this past week falsely claimed to a congressional committee that she had fought every day to reopen schools, when, in fact, she and her union were the major force keeping them closed. Trump rejects GOP presidential candidate debates 29 replies

I am dismayed that Donald Trump seems to be adopting the tactics of the Biden-dominated DNC and rejecting the opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates for their parties’ nomination in a presidential debate. In a post on Truth Social, he writes: I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them. When you’re leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, TRUMP & MAGA hating anchors asking the “questions,” why subject yourself to being libeled and abused?

Hospitals should be places you can trust to provide comfort and healing when you’re most vulnerable. But that trust may have been shattered by brutal Covid protocols that critics claim turned many hospitals into hellscapes of systematic medical murder. The victims’ stories have been muffled by the mainstream media, but they’re starting to break through. For one thing, lawsuits against three hospitals have been filed in California by 14 bereaved families who claim their loved ones were killed by a deadly protocol. Meanwhile, activist organizations like Protocol Kills, the FormerFedsGroup Freedom Foundation, and American Frontline Nurses are collecting and documenting stories

If I were still teaching at Harvard Business School, I’d already be putting together material for a case study on the Bud Light marketing disaster, and I am reasonably sure that I would have plenty of company at HBS and elsewhere. The fiasco is already of historic proportions, joining New Coke as an example of failing to understand the customers of a brand. But, as with any good case study, there are layers and layers of analysis possible, and the initial hypotheses of who and what went wrong may yield to alternative views once more information is considered. Hochul said Thursday she reached a handshake deal with lawmakers on the agreement, which was included in New York’s fiscal 2024 budget. Yes, Kamala Harris is arguably the most unqualified person in history to serve as vice president.
