Fox News’ decision to tap Brian Kilmeade as the host of “Fox News Tonight” at 8 p.m. ET, following the departure of Tucker Carlson, has not been without its challenges. Since his debut last Monday, ratings for Kilmeade’s fill-in show have reportedly dropped significantly with each consecutive day.
Amid mounting criticism directed towards Fox News following the exit of Tucker Carlson and a subsequent dip in primetime ratings, host Brian Kilmeade took to the airwaves to defend his network.Speaking on a podcast with host Frank Morano last week, Kilmeade emphasized that Fox was “just as strong as ever,”

Kilmeade is a morning show kind of guy... He's not a heavy hitter. If Fox is putting him out front in this matter, there's a definite problem.

I sympathize with Kilmeade but if you add Hannity + Ingram + Bret Baier they don’t equal what Tucker Carlson had to offer. As far as no one tells Fox what to do that is a joke. How about Chuck Schumer or the Turtle. They told Fox what to do and Fox did it. Remember when I think it was Newt Gingrich tried to bring George Soros into a discussion and Harris Faulkner almost had a Kitty saying there was no need to mention Soros. Also, weasel Paul Ryan can’t be overlooked as a negative influence on Fox.

Kilmeade is obviously attempting damage control at the behest of his bosses but it won't work. Yes, Hannity is the same but that's not a compliment, I stopped watching him long ago. Tucker is the best and Fox will not survive for long without him, especially if he becomes competition.

Many of Tucker's viewers lodged a protest by not tuning into his slot. Who replaced him really didn't matter, at least in the short term.

FTA: "Kilmeade emphasized that Fox was “just as strong as ever,” Hmmm? It's almost as if he was paid to say that! :-)

You know, if Kilmeade used that Tucker team to expose agent provocateurs at J6...
we'd all change our tune. Here's hoping he does just that.

Brian, no one tells you what to do because like democrats, you know the drill. You know what your bosses want and give it to them regardless of the effect it will have on the country. You are part of the problem regarding the media. You go along to get along. It takes integrity and courage to buck the vile system that is the media in this country today. For all your talk of patriotism, you are a poor excuse for someone who purports to love freedom. You are nothing more than a paid lackey. It takes a man to stand on principle when everyone around him caves due to their own self-interest. You want to save the country? Find a backbone.

Brian was my least favorite no matter who sat in the other two chairs.
He talked about previously about doing stand-up comedy. He'd try to be witty or droll, often awkwardly timed, which i found irritating. I can see how that career would never take off. I do wonder why he was hired in the first place.
Oops, almost forgot: his gushing over soccer was also an irritant. This clown thinks way too much of himself. He's goofy.

I really like Kilmeade and he has been put in an uncomfortable position----even with a wonderful staff "left over" from Tucker (and Carlson's PRODUCER was fired, by the way) he can't produce the kind of show Tucker had........I used to FF through some of it as I didn't agree with say, his stand on Ukraine ("those who don't know history are bound to repeat it") and some of the sketchier segments but in general I never missed the show. Jones is also a nice man, but come on........! First Black anchor etc....isn't that identity politics???? As for the weekends, I ALWAYS watch Steve Hilton on Sundays...he is marvelous, and sometimes Kilmeade, but Fox dumping Bongiono, who I DID watch, the same time as Carlson says it all---the rise of Lachlan Murdoch. We don't have to boycott when the programming is so vanilla that we don't BOTHER to watch. (Will be interesting to see if they attempt to stifle Gutfeld, who continues to offend---LOVE IT---but is also smart and thoughtful.)

And by the way, as Hannity says continually, I never watch Laura I., nor 90% of Hannity (only when he has some really excellent guests)..........Tucker Carlson was THE one I never missed.

Like #1 said Kilmeade is a morning show personality. He needs to stay on Fox and Friends along with that clown Steve Doochey and Sean Hannity's girlfriend Ansley Earhardt. He's not cut out for a solo primetime show. I listened to his radio show that comes on in my local AM market at 10am-12pm followed by shock jocks Clay Travis and Buck Sexton. Who are followed by Hannity at 3. So, in other words it's an AM black out for me after the local morning Conservative show at 9am. Fox News shot themselves in both feet by letting Tucker go and putting weak sauce the network is "just as strong as ever" Kilmeade in that slot won't help. What's next putting the equally weak Hannity in at 8pm? If dopey Murdoch boys and RINO Ryan do that it won't just shotting themselves in both feet, it will be both kneecaps.

In the early 2000s, Fox and Friends featured the Victoria Secret models. Brian was beside himself drooling and made inappropriate comments. I emailed him and reminded him that he was a married man and came across as a pig. He did calm down

The truth is they don’t have anyone to replace Tucker. They have forfeited their command of prime time. I’m not sure they care.

Why would you fire the host of a show that is the top in the market and telling the obvious truth? We can only guess.

Tired of playing second or third fiddle to Tucker, Kilmeade tries for a little air. Maybe a chance to replace TC? Nevah. He is a terminal bore. IMO.

Kilmeade, no one tells conservatives what to watch. I won't be watching a network that censors the news I am interested in.

It’s hard to dislike Brian Kilmeade but when all is said and done he is a dyed in the wool Republican Party establishmentarian. Tucker Carlson was the Donald Trump of Fox News. He shook things up and took on the out of touch Republican Party.
I’m afraid Tucker’s time slot will continue to decline during Lawrence Jones’s temporary time there this week. Nice and earnest young man but not up to it. Maybe next week Fox can try out Jason Chaffets who will so tank the ratings that even moving
Sean Hannity into the slot will be an improvement.

Given an impossible task, and NOT permitted to even try to do what Carlson was doing. Fluffy stuff isn't going to cut it.

I never heard of Brian Kilmeade until he and Judge Napolitano teamed up and took over the beloved Tony Snow's show when Snow became the Bush press secretary. I like Brian. He's a hard worker and a smart guy BUT he"s no Catlson
