Republican House, Vows ‘Bold Agenda’

Incoming House Majority Leader Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) revealed a list of legislation that he will bring up for Republicans to consider on the House floor when they assume control of the lower chamber in mere days and loosen the Democrats’ grip on power in Washington. .(snip)A review of the bills and resolutions Scalise has scheduled for the first two weeks of the new Congress—like defunding the IRS or restricting releases from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve—suggests Republicans want to send a message to the Biden administration that the winds of change are about to blow harder.

Comments:

I am heartened to know that Scalise has a powerful role in the new House.

How many times have we heard bull crap like this? What’s different this time? Nothing. Elections are rigged and corrupt nationwide. Judges are bought and owned and as corrupt as anything. Politicians on both sides are sell outs and greedy selfish and even more corrupt that the judges and elections. The greatest of all corruption resides in the White House for all to see. Mitch and Kevin will make absolutely sure the democrats and Joe get everything they want and more. I’m going back to bed…

What does it matter what the new House does? If Schumer doesn't stop it in the Senate. McConnell WILL. And anything useful that does get through, Joe Biden will be told to veto.

But a quick question - what can you do for America to free the J6 political prisoners, sir? While Ray Epps and the fbi, among others, continue to walk as a free men/women/{insert pronoun} and while Lizzard and the J6 committee circus quietly disappear?

Nice talk, but just showmanship. Seriously, the House can pass all the bills it wants, but they will die in the Demon-Rat controlled Senate, or at the veto pen of Senile Joe bidet. Realistically, all the House can do is put a damper on the runaway Communist agenda of the Demon-Rats in the Senate and Senile Joe bidet. But since bidet ignores Congress most of the time and just spends billions of dollars and makes laws with his dictatorial presidential decree, the Republicans can slow down the runaway Communist Demon-Rat train, but they can't totally stop it or realistically reverse the damage that was done in the last 2 years. Elections have consequences, and when the useless Republi-Can't so-called "leadership" let the Demon-Rats steal the 2020 election for Senile Joe bidet because they hated President Trump more than they feared the pure evil the Demon-Rats would do with unlimited control of the Senate and the presidency, we are living in the disaster of those consequences now!!! This is going to be a great year for alcohol and gun sales in this country!!! That is about the best we can hope for!!!

Any bill that is passed must be read aloud so people are aware of what is being passed. No more continuing resolutions. The bills must be prioritized. We fund s.s. Keeping laws that protect us and our nation and borders, infrastructure. Stop creating new social programs and paying off donors. We fund our own country before we even think about giving our money away to other countries. Do not approve anyone else that Joe chooses to place in power. Candidates must prove the can do the job. Equity must not be considered. Defund the board of education.

Sorry, but this is almost entirely smoke and mirrors. NOTHING will get past Traitor Joe's veto pen, so all is just PR baloney. The best we can get is Congress doing NOTHING for the next two years. That WILL BE a huge improvement over Nutty, Nasty Nan's criminal, corrupt, destructive tenure, for certain. But no laws will be reversed with this Congress. Joe, aided no doubt, by China Mitch will stop any bills which would make improvements.

Also, expect McConnell and the Rino's in the Senate to stab their party and the country in he back every chance they get.

We keep hearing that but I'll hold out for the results before opening the champagne. They won't be "defunding the IRS" but will merely keep things exactly the way they are. The bloodsuckers will still be able to do plenty of damage without 87,000 more affirmative action hires. I want to hear that the border wall will be 100% complete by July and all of the idle gas and oil wells will be back on line and Keystone reinstated, thus fixing the inflation problem the correct way. All Treasury funds illegally set aside by Biden in his huge giveaway packages need to be put back where they belong. The executive branch can not steal money that way. Oh, and elections made tamper-proof while you are at it or it will be a short two-year reprieve that will fix nothing.

The best I can say about 2022 is that it was not a leap year. After 9 months of this year, Queen Elizabeth had all she could take. She was out of here. She had been through the London Blitz, the dismantling of the British Empire and the death of her husband of of 69 years. She always kept calm and kept rolling. But 2022 was just too much for her. The year began with a poll on 2021 by Rasmussen. It found only 2% rated 2021 as one of the best years ever; 48% said it was a poor year. 2021 is now considered the good old days compared to 2022.

Why did Republicans underperform during the 2022 mid-terms? That question has become a near-constant point of contention on the right. Was it a candidate quality issue? I’d argue that was certainly the case in several high-profile races, but that’s obviously not the only thing that plagued the GOP. There was also a lack of coherent messaging from leadership, and in many important races, Democrats were simply able to outspend their opponents by large margins. The RNC’s inability to harvest votes and bank early votes didn’t help either. Donald Trump is looking elsewhere for an explanation, though. In an eyebrow-raising rant on Sunday, he appeared to blame pro-lifers for GOP woes.

2022 wasn’t the year The Walt Disney Company’s descended into wokeness, but it was the year the media giant fully embraced it. From the legacy-character emasculations of “She-Hulk” and “Thor: Love and Thunder” to the variety of children’s movies pushing LGBT ideology, Disney decided to go all in. Unfortunately for their shareholders, that wasn’t a great strategy. The company had its worst year since 1974, seeing $123 billion in value wiped out.
