The report said users who were locked out of their Facebook accounts often weren't able to regain access through traditional means, like reaching out to Facebook directly. A strong earthquake that hit Western Texas was felt hundreds miles away in San Antonio where officials at a local college canceled classes for Wednesday night after the temblor caused one of its campus' buildings to sway.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at 3:32 p.m. Wednesday at a depth of 5 miles about 24 miles west-southwest of Mentone, a Loving County unincorporated community with a population of 10 people near Texas' northern border with New Mexico.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) is cutting into her Republican opponent Kelly Tshibaka’s lead in the Alaska senate race, and Republican Sarah Palin trails Democrat Rep. Mary Peltola in the race for Alaska’s lone congressional seat, according to Alaska’s latest vote count update.
Tshibaka, who earned an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, has a narrow lead over pro-impeachment Sen. Murkowski. After roughly 27,000 more votes were counted on Tuesday, Tshibaka’s lead was cut from 3,000 to 565.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) tamped down the establishment media’s efforts to escalate a supposed rift between former President Donald Trump and the governor, telling reporters that “people just need to chill out.”
The remark came at the end of a news conference on Wednesday, following the governor awarding $8.7 million for Hurricane Ian recovery. When asked about the potential “Civil War” brewing in the GOP, with people supposedly choosing between Trump and DeSantis, the governor dismissed the speculation.
Republican Kari Lake has narrowed Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs’s lead in the state’s race for governor in a Nov. 15 update.
Hobbs’s lead of 19,382 narrowed to 17,249, according to unofficial results from the office of Hobbs, a Democrat, based on new reports from Maricopa County and other jurisdictions. Hobbs gained nearly 9,700 votes in the new tranche, while Lake gained 11,829.
Hobbs now has 1.276 million votes, while Lake now has 1.259 million. The margin between the candidates is about 0.6 percent, close to recount territory.
Under a new Arizona law, a recount is triggered if the margin is at or below 0.5 percent when all the votes are counted.
