The federal government runs out of funding on Friday and this week should set up a hot debate over billions more in Ukraine aide, a pipeline payoff deal, Afghan refugee assistance and money to help pay for sky-high heating bills for low-income families.
While a final funding bill is still being drawn up, the Senate is set to vote in a procedural move on a 'shell' of the bill on Tuesday, testing whether there is enough of an appetite for it to pass the 60-vote hurdle in the split Senate.
Both sides are under pressure to pass a temporary bill to fund the government at its current levels

What do we get with the Billions of US$ sent to Ukraine? Do not tell me a democratic country (it is not and will not be one).

I just read that Manchin's bill can be used to nationalize the grid. Dems will vote for nationalizing anything. So will RINO's.

Why would Republicans vote to handcuff themselves and be stuck with a Democrat Budget for 2023? The Republicans in the House have voted against it, but McConnell will vote for it, because he is a traitor that don't care what the people think.

If you ever wondered why all the politicians visited Ukraine, it’s because of the kickbacks.

Sick of Republican members of Congress who are also veterans like Rep Waltz of FL who keep voting for the billions to Ukraine. Tell me again why veterans are so critical to being in Congress? And I say that as a veteran. And of Biden hadn't shut down out own fossil fuels, there wouldn't be any need for tax money for heating bills relief. And of course, there is continued funding of the FBI...

Shut the totalitarian Federal Government down. Starve the Beast and it will die. Of course the spineless republicans will cave into the Communist Death Democrats after the usual show of tepid, phony resistance and shovel more of our hard earned money into the maw of the Federal Beast. Ironic isn't it we are funding our own destruction.

When are people going to catch on. The continuing resolution bill has been used for decades to have an excuse to pass funding for their pet projects. We are still giving funding for things that was originally funded for a short period of time. Each time a continuing resulotiin bill is passed that means we keep funding the same old obsolete programs. Stop it now

This is not a Shut Down. It is the Balanced Budget non-Amendment going into effect. Congress cannot SPEND more than it TAKES IN since the Taxpayer Credit Card balance is frozen at $31 TRILLION. You want to spend $40 billion somewhere on the other side of the world, you have to receive tax income/duties/tariffs of $40 billion. You have to pay Hardworking Federal Workers next week, you have to receive $50 billion in taxes/duties/tariffs to pay them.
RINOs rope-a-doped voters for a generation talking about 'balanced budget amendment' and 'pay-go' and every other sucker idea.
Now rubber meets the road.

You’re right #5. Go to a foreign country, family members too, and good things can happen. Like extra money in your pockets.

Once again, the business of actually funding the government gets put off until the 11th hour and 45th minute. I think it's by design, so that everyone can pad it with their pet projects that get through without scrutiny because the government MUST be kept running.

We can't let the Strategic Helium Reserves go without funding. Only form of air travel that the peasants will
be able to use in the near futuristic America the greenies want,

#15 - Helium cannot be wasted on the peasants. We'll be forced to use hydrogen and accept the associated hazard.

It's time for Trump to start talking about IF the country can be saved from the Biden created national debt. That would put the spotlight on Biden and favor Trump as a truth-teller among the fence-sitters. It would be refreshingly honest, because everyone else in national office is trying to avoid talking about it.
