Women are rightly terrified of NYC subways
— but our fears are ignored

Claudine Roberts, Than Than Htwe, Michelle Go. All three were women, all were racial minorities, and all were viciously killed by strangers on the subway in the past two years. In response to soaring violent crime underground since March 2020, women and girls, correctly fearful of riding the subway, have stayed off the trains if they can and adopted coping mechanisms if they can’t. Claudine Roberts was stabbed to death on the A train in February 2021. Than Than Htwe was pulled down the stairs to her death in Union Square that July. Michelle Go was pushed under a Times Square train this January.

Yea but no. Your fears are not being ignored, your fears are being manipulated, augmented, even manufactured. Once you are sufficiently afraid you will surrender your freedom to whomever convincingly promises to eliminate the danger by taking freedom away from all, including you. The thugs are useful tools and they intend for you to be one as well, don't fall for it. It's about power and control. No your fear is not being ignored one bit your fear is intended to be their path to power. .

I know a woman in New York who claims to be Republican but she votes Democrat. She hates Trump. When all the rioting was going on in NY she was critical of a video tape of a police officer pushing a man who kept getting into his face despite several warnings to move back. She said the police were out of control. I disagreed and said if someone got in my face like that they would get something worse than a shove and that the man should have showed respect to the officer. It's true that the women I know from New York are liberal -- there must be conservative women there too but I don't know them. I attend seminars and meet people from all over the US, Canada, the Netherlands, South American, etc. and of course this one opinionated New York woman.

The Biden administration has quietly announced a change in their student debt forgiveness program that could exclude four million borrowers who have loans owned or backed by private companies The u-turn by the federal government comes after the first legal challenges were filed and following criticism of the huge costs to taxpayers and claims the plan is an illegal use of his executive power. The Education Department announced Thursday that privately-held federal loans won't qualify for the relief plan, which the Congressional Budget Office said earlier this week could cost $400billion over a decade.

President Joe Biden called for the late Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) to appear during a live event on hunger and nutrition Wednesday. Walorski was killed in a car accident last month, and Biden had previously called her family to offer condolences. Though the White House attempted to spin his faux pas as a mere sign that Walorski was “top of mind,” describing it as the kind of mistake that anyone could make, the embarrassing error was the latest evidence that Biden may not be mentally competent to hold the office of president. And yet there is no talk about removing him from office, using the 25th Amendment

Thousands are also trapped on their homes and some were forced on to their roofs to escape rising floodwater that swallowed two-story homes.

On Wednesday, New York released state tests scores and parents finally got confirmation about the devastating learning loss so many of us saw first-hand during extended school lockdowns. The most reliable academic indicator for students in third to eighth grade — math scores — plummeted across all grades. The slow progress made pre-pandemic was eviscerated. Students in every year tested lost ground, and the largest drop was among eighth graders heading to high school, who saw 11% fewer students proficient in math. Taxation and crushing regulation as well as progressive policies have a lot to do with it. It’s almost as if Biden and the left want to drive gas stations out of business.
