It's no secret that the mainstream media and liberal pundit class are not fans of Florida's Republican Governor Ron DeSantis. From the day he took office, through COVID, and amid Biden's border crisis, the media has never resisted an opportunity — however frivolous — to attack the man known to conservatives as "America's Governor." (snip) But now, even the media has found another low with their anti-DeSantis attacks: salivating over the chance for a hurricane to devastate Florida and make its governor look bad.

It will not hurt DeSantis. I saw his hurricane message this morning. It was the best hurricane planning and messaging I have ever witnessed from a Governor. DeSantis is a very impressive administrator, and one that does his job.

In what twisted world would this hurt Gov. DeSantis. I know, I know…liberalism is a mental disease. Chronic and degenerative, with no hope of recovery.

Giddy over thousands of people suffering. I went through Katrina on MS gulf coast, no power for over 2 weeks, waiting in line for hours for 10 gallons of gas for the generator. People just miserable everywhere. Liberals are mean, evil & ghouls.

Delusional.
I'm in Florida now. At no point have I thought, "Oh my gosh, a hurricane! This is DeSantis' fault! I'm voting Dem this fall!"
It's such a bizarre concept. Makes no sense at all.

I saw cabbage brain giving a speech about the coming hurricane this afternoon. Even though he talked about damage to Florida, said he contacted the mayors of Clearwater, Tampa and St, Pete, he never ONCE mentioned Gov. DeSantis. What an evil little twerp. Then he jumped right into spending more money on medicare.

Why would it hurt him? I don't think any sane person believes he controls the weather, so....

I noticed today that during an apparent political event at the White House that Biden commented that he was getting involved with Florida hurricane relief and that the Mayors of the three big Florida cities in the path of the hurricane should contact him directly for any relief they might need, and that he would get moving on any federal resources they asked for direct to their cities. As usual Biden was being political about the situation, and was obviously trying to keep Florida Governor DeSantis out of the loop completely, that’s wrong, as in essence the chain of command between the federal government to State cities and towns always goes through the office of the State Governors regardless of the different political party membership of the President and Governor.

Imagine everyone has been compelled... no, wait... forced to drive electric vehicles and now you have to charge your vehicle for possible escape to higher ground and safety, when hundreds of thousands or even hundreds need the charging stations, where it takes a whole lot longer to charge a car than fill the gas tank. And consider power outages which always occur in major storms and minor.
And President Trump never withheld help from any State (as one tweeter in article claimed). Even so, would "two wrongs make a right"?
During the 2016 campaign, it became obvious that the hatred for President Trump is pathological. People on the Left can clearly be seen as morally corrupt and spiritually and mentally demented.
I have family in Florida, different regions. All in Florida are in my prayers.

Governor DeSantis has hundreds of power repair trucks prepositioned along with busses for support personnel food facilities and all support items lined up two days before it hits. He will be back up and running faster than Biden can change his depends!

Nonsense. Everyone knows the governor has no control over acts of God. Beyond that, Floridians know how to deal with hurricanes. It comes with the territory. They'll handle it just fine.

On my drive from Michigan (I75) to Nashville I saw dozens of electric repair trucks headed south. The media has not figured out yet how to destroy DeSantis, this is just one more feeble attempt.

Actually, he is about 90% likely to do as well as any leader can in a situation like this, and probably gain respect for his competence.

Why aren't you harping about being on the Job, direct phone lines open to the people of Cuba, your buddies, they just got spanked and their "Democrat" govt is no where near capable of solving their issues,
OH, how come the lights are not ALL back on in Puerto Rico yet? They got hit with one too, while YOU were In Charge. You are THEIR guy..right?

Re #16, when I was down for the last big blow to help one relative clear trees down, and bring a generator and fuel, and the electrical know-how to rig it to the house temporarily, we noted that the power crew that got the power back up after four days was from St. Louis area. On our way home a few days after the power was restored and most of the trees cleaned up by my chainsaw, we saw convoy after convoy of, say, 10 trucks from Tennessee, and then 12 trucks from Missouri, etc, heading north after their work was done.
I was discussing this with my wife and we guessed that the trucks were already moving closer to the damage zone to cut response times. Good to hear that they are actually doing it. And I helped two of my relatives select generators and one of them to get it wired to her home all properly, with interlocks, and critical circuits crossed to the 'generator only' sub box, so they are much better prepared this time to deal with the power outage.
We still may go down this weekend if they need help. One is partially disabled, so can't do as much.

The media doesn't care about all that #1. They make it up as they go along. Their lies spread faster than our truth does anymore.
God bless and protect all those including my adopted sister and my nephew and his family. All of whom live in the Tampa area. Stay safe everybody.

The dems function on exploiting misery. The problem is, they have no ability or even intent to fix it. They are incompetent so they can't fix it. If they did fix things, what would they use the next time.
In this case, they see it as a twofer. They get DeSantis over the tiniest misstep, real or imagined AND they get to trumpet that climate change is REAL because a big hurricane showed up. Yeah, they are delusional but that seems to be a necessary component of dems these days.

Journalists and pundits take note. Here are the rules. If a powerful hurricane, say Katrina, hits a Democrat run state while the president is a Republican, you get to trash the Republican. But if a powerful hurricane, say Ian, hits a Republican run state while the president is a Democrat, then you still get to trash the Republican.
